Yeah man that's so perfect. He teaches you self-awareness. If someone like that exists, whos so awful yet so unaware. You have to think sometimes it can happen to any of us. Cheers Op.
@Kris Anticknap He was too real and good for show business. "Opie and Anthony" still is around today if he lived and was made a permanent part of the show. Much higher quality person than Norton and would've kept O & A from self-destructing in my opinion. The discourse they could've had in these last number of years would've been absolutely incredible instead of a bunch of useless, tired, trying-too-hard-to-be-edgy pedophile jokes that did nothing to push the show forward.
@@fitzhugh7463 while what you say is very true, i think Patrice approached this more as a dude than as a comic. Steve was trying to be a solid, good dude, offering up media to entertain and educate. Saying "no, thanks" will do, each time. Patrice couldn't (nor can i) see why this is a problem, much less a reason to pile on Steve like he was a fuckwit.
@@e2go i hear you. Fans of the show invariably hate one or more of the regular crew with a passion, but we all love Patrice with the same passion. He made everything good.
Imo Patrice assessing the Steve C situation might be his best moment because it shows how smart he was, and how great he was when it comes to reading people. Just an amazing listen.
Patrice says what he likes most about Borscht Belt comedians is the genuine camaraderie and love they had for each other. Wish you could have heard your own tribute episode after you died, buddy.
@@KCCC326 He was just such a suspicious muthafucka, he couldn’t have ever truly believed this was how they felt unless he was dead and they didn’t have to worry about what they said.
I never saw much of Patrice when he was alive, but am now making up for it, I especially love all the stuff he did on O&A. I'm also a big Bill Burr fan. From London, UK
@@parttimeposter1998 dude more than you possibly imagine... I wonder how they kept it in the film. During the mid way point, he looks at the people off set for like a millisecond.
@@emptyeauation1627 it is for sure but any time mourning people we've lost is also an opportunity to celebrate life and a reason to live the best that we can
Koji Attwood it’s enraging to hear him yelling over people, who the fuck does that? He’s never been needed on the show. He isn’t even on the Scorch level
I’m not a big opie fan, but he did play a role as the straight guy. Jim is better in response than in the lead and Anthony has a tendency to go into grumpy old man diatribes and stop doing impressions or jokes. Opie seems more like a director or moderator, but opie himself disliked that role, wanting to be the lead, as unsuited for that job as he is, evidenced by his new show. Sam Roberts is irritating as cohost and Jim seems to have lost his edge/ hunger, Compound comes off as a bitter Fox News editorial and opies podcast is painfully unfunny. Those three together had a chemistry that can never be regained.
The 9th Annual Patrice O'Neil Comedy Benefit is Tue Jan 18th 2022 730pm at NY City Center tickets 75$ All goes to his family . Huge line up of killer comics. let your peeps know please.. RIP Legend
I just noticed something with Opie: At 43:55 Opie picks Tom Brokaw and is heavily criticized for his choice. 44:20 Bill Burr notices no one is on Opie’s side so he comes in to back Opie up and by his only ally. At 45:20 Bill Burr doubles down on backing up Opie but then... 45:27 Opie aggressively barks at Bill Burr for siding with him saying “you’re gonna make us split the pot” like dude, didn’t you realize he was throwing you a bone and backing you up? You literally barked at the only guy in the room that had your back? And to top it all of at 44:58 Opie barks AGAIN this time at Patrice for getting the year wrong. He’s so CRINGE!!
Overanalyzing a simple situation like a damn woman, your guy friends must be sick of your ass. You probably take every little thing they say and do apart
I found Patrice through billy red face burr, thanks billy, as I'm writing this is realized, no one cares, happy Easter, thank you easter bunny, balk, balwk
I care man we all care you are the comment we have been waiting for on RU-vid with our virus watch in background. It was you all along buddy . Just kidding nobody cares ya fuckin nothin
@@ZhunterPLUR wow,you must have a lot of friends, you know you might be able to buy some pussy fat boy,and feel a little better. ..but I doubt it.im sure you'll be missed.
Deadliest Warriors is a dope series and so is Deadliest Catch. Now that I mention it they really did just throw the word "Deadliest in front of everything including things that are already deadly by nature.
They're from the old school. If you're not 50 and aren't familiar with the media they grew up with, you're not gonna get their references. I don't get the majority of references either, I try to enjoy as much as I can.
Not only are they an older generation this was what, a decade ago now? References roll with the times. As far as not getting the references back to Carson. Now thats just a lack of culture
Id like to know how many people on here actually listened to O&A years ago n how many just heard stories so checked it out. I used to have a WOW sticker on my car. Never worked unfortunately lmao loved this show and all the comics it showed me
On every episode theres a theme. Everytime they reach peak funny Opie chimes in and derails it, or he takes a caller and lets all the momentum out of the show.
Lmao somewhere between 1:30:00 - 1:38:00 fucking Jimmy, you can hear him get all excited about all the famous people going to be at Comic con Lmao, his voice gets shaky & everything, at first he was like ehh I’m above going to a place like that then he quickly worms to trying to fish for backstage lmao oh Jimmy
