I miss him too, but still listen to him daily. Almost feels like he's not dead. He'd have so much genius insight if he were alive right now. Would've been dope to hear his opinions on Cancel Culture, Trump, the pandemic, new era feminist, etc.
Opie wasn't intimidated by Patrice. He was scared that Patrice was gunna fuck with him and point out his flaws on air and in front of his staff. Patrice would have fucking DESTROYED opie and he would have no way of even attempting to fight back. Patrice found out about the "greggshells" early on.
Comics using their physical disability as a gimmick back in the early 2000s is equivalent to how today's hack comics use their so called anxiety and depression as a crutch.

I think there are a lot of comics who are better in terms of performance on a stage but I doubt any of them would be funnier in person or in a conversation. Patrice' humor almost entirely came from his insight.
@@andyward8430 Exactly how I feel. His stand-up wasn't as good as Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr etc, but on the radio (O&A and Black Phillip) he was the funniest guy in the world.

Iliza's specials are so painful to watch, she's confident but that's all her act has going for her, too wordy, no punchline jokes, just mocking girly girl things like a "funny" 16 year old girl would.
Yeah she's kinda hot but I have a hard time thinking her looks are the only thing that has gotten her this far. I mean take a look at Esther Ku. She is absolutely adorable but she's not very funny. I often wonder if maybe someone like her just appeals more to women than men.

Listening to HOURS of Patrice the past few weeks. Aside from a genuine comedy genius, wasn't he the most HONEST and SENSITIVE person ever. Him talking about his dog being ran over in an earlier show was just RAW and UNFILTERED...like he always was. I think he could have beem more than a superstar comedian. He was so FAIR and even handed.....could have been an AMAZING statesman. So much potential and such a rare human. We lost a very special dude. He would def call me a faggot if he read this, but i mean every word!

I used to do that to my kids after I asked them if they blew their noses before school. They would lie and tell me they did so I would pinch their noses and if the nostrils stayed stuck together like Iliza’s then I knew they had a load of boogers up there 🤣
Iliza is hot, but I never really laughed at her standup. She does have a certain comedic edge, but her looks gives her wayyy more attention than she would have without it. She uploaded a serious video on webcam where she cried about her memories from 9/11. WHY WOULD A SERIOUS COMIC DO THAT?

When they started talking about Nikki Payne, I began hoping for Patrice to like her in order to validate my comedy taste. Which is weird since I never knew him, yet I was strangely relieved when he said she was funny. A wise man who would have contributed so much solely on his opinion, he will be remembered for years to come like Kinison, Hedberg, Lenny, etc.

Patrice's talk around 2:10:00 about a social world without order is worth its own upload. Saying things like a lot of people are talking without having earned the right to speak with substance. And things like "people hear this show and they're confused about meanness. They hear you bash Vos and they think it's okay to bash you without knowing about there being a line". I don't know, don't miss that part.

like a lot of fans I only got into the Patrice shows post-Patrice unfortunately, but he was a bona fida GREAT comic. Comics hate saying how talented their peers are but Bill Burr,Jimmy,Colin Q, L Ck even Chris Rock refer to him as great he would own Hollywood by now
Talent and funny is not what Hollywood wants unless you are willing to sellout your personal views, opinions and scruples and Patrice was Never gonna do that so he would have never been famous.
Patrice was so right in how you can tell if a sport sucks by how defensive people get when it's dissed. Football fans just shrug because they know the person is an idiot. Soccer fans throw a fit. The proof is that soccer fans are immediately starting to type "You mean AMERICAN Football".

Yes it was her that got ran over, she was sunbathing and a lifeguard ran over her. She supposedly died on the scene and took 5 years to fully recover half of that in a wheel chair. She also had cervical cancer before 30, and a few other issues, talk about a trooper I can see why she was an inspirational speaker.
I don't think Patrice is one of the top top comedians, but 'Elephant in the Room is by far, one of the best sets I have ever seen! If he had 3 or 4 more hour specials where he crushed it like he did on that one, he'd be on top. That special he did was so dm good!
Louie CK said something similar. Patrice's latest special before he died was starting to scrape against the tops like Pryor or carlin. He wasn't there yet. But if he had 10-20 more years to hone his craft, he would've been a legend.

I think youre right in a way, but hes one of the funniest and most insightful conversationalist ever. I listen to hourrrrs of him on this show here. Its like an addiction.

So true! Patrice was the only comic that would laugh with him. So Opie would “joke” more. One of the best “episodes” is The Anthony, Joe and Patrice one. No Opie, no stupid phones.
