The picks taped to the mic stand (or, in some cases, to the guitar body) aren't so you can look cool and/or throw souvenir picks into the audience... it's because (a) the strings "chew" the picks while you play, removing the edge and making your notes sound slightly muffled or rough, and (b) because your fingers are slippery with sweat and you're going to drop the pick sooner or later, and it's easier to grab a taped pick than to fumble around the stage for it.

Beginning the show with an Opie lie. Love it. Opie would have had a heart attack if a man was standing over him. Let me make up stories to make me seem well traveled and be able to relate to stories that he would feel left out of a conversation. He probably felt so out of touch when the comics were in studio and telling horrific stories and personal experiences.
Plain and simple, he tried to hard more often than not. You could tell his fraud laugh from his genuine. He tried waaay to hard to seem well traveled and educated, which is why he told so many blatantly BS stories. This show makes me search so many things: 1)Patrice O' Neal School Brawd on Funny. 2) Jenna Elfman, 3) People Care more about animals than human beings and the list goes on.

Ever notice that Opie’s stories come like 4 minutes after someone else’s story. Normally, people who have a similar story can fire it out right away. It’s almost like he has to make it up on the spot. Coupled with a lot of “I don’t remember exactly” when pressed for details.
He made them all up. My favorite made up story was the one where he took a dump on the beach. The one where he yelled at the elderly couple was also decent.

Wow, its been 45 minutes into them being at XM, and Opie has been utter obnoxious trash for every second. It is almost amazing, his consistency of being shite. If he was playing a character he wouldn't be playing that one, because it would have stopped the hate, which he was bothered by and would have loved to have stopped. He also wasnt trying to get people to hate him either so he cant use that exscuse. I loved when he would say something he really thought would get a big laugh or prove he was funny and there was just silence, and he had to say something to get himself out of the bomb all awkwardly and they would just laugh.
Also someone will need to sit Opie down and let him know, that news happens because something is newsworthy...aka people want to know what's going on around their area or in their state or a lot of times even in their country. They also have a thing called world news that is very popular. He was wondering why these things like celebrities having babies are so popular... It's because they do something where lots of people watch them either on TV, or somehow throughout their community that gains notoriety. It seems almost impossible that you would have to sit someone down who "has been in radio since he was 18" and explain to him why things in the news are newsworthy.
