Probably the best player with Auston Matthews in 2016 NHL Entry Draft
Laine is ranked #2 in many pre-draft lists, behind Auston Matthews
Laine is known from his terriffic snap shot and slap shot, and he is an Sniper type of player. He can shoot and likes to shoot from different ancles. He also can score from them.
Laine scored 10 goals in Liiga Playoffs - that is most goals from 18 years old in Liiga history. Laine also scored 7 goals in this years World Junior Championships as Finland won the Gold Medal

If he blows it out of the water in the World Championships, I could still see him going first. Matthews is the favorite now, but this tournament could be huge.

I think who the Leafs pick should ultimately depend on Stamkos. Leafs management will know if they will land Stamkos by the draft. If they know they will get Stamkos, I think they should draft Laine. Matthews is a fantastic player, but when you get away from the Sexy name (Auston Matthews), their respective positions, North American Boy vs Finn, the fact that he's been the consensus #1 for a very long time, & just watch the highlights of the two with an unbiased eye. Laine is the superior prospect & the better talent. Laine is UNBELIEVABLE!!!! World class sniper at 18. Underrated playmaker. Rare size/speed/talent combo. He looks like the Finnish love child of Malkin & Ovechkin. We can't pass on Laine if we know we got Stammer. I'm not trying to rustle feathers, just my opinion.

+wpgjets4life He'll definitely be a Jet. He's by far the second best player in the Draft, Winnipeg would be stupid to pick anybody else. Puljujarvi may end up being as good or better down the road though.

Even though as a Finn I would like a Finnish player to be selected first some time. But Jets need this guy and I don't want to see him in a team like the Leafs.

+Winnipeg4ever Well, the Leafs are going to pick the best player in the Draft, Matthews. So you don't have to worry about that. :)

***** Toronto will pick the better player. I've seen them both play more than enough times to see who runs the offense, and who's a PP specialist. You take the Star Center, over the Star winger, everytime.

+PavelGaborik True that ! Guy needs to check career stats on Mathews and a Laine LOL . There is no competition. Mathews is phenomenal ! But there's a lot of trolling and reverse psychology going on trying to coerce Leaf fans into thinking the organization would make a big mistake not taking Laine instead. LMFAO!

***** Blinded by Nationality? Are you implying that they're biased towards a guy from fucking Arizona? Arizona? Watching the game today, Laine had a rough game, he looked slow, had a bad turnover (to Matthews none the less) which lead in a goal against, and was benched the final 7 minutes of the game. Matthews skating, and two way game is the difference maker my little biased Finnish pal. Laine will need to improve on that acceleration, or I worry Puljujarvi may surpass him as well.
