Patriot Pure Ultimate Water Filtration System Review 

Once assembled, and before using, should I run water through this system to flush the filter? Or is this designed that once it is assembled, just fill the top and let it go to work? I don't believe that this person monitors her own video, so if anyone has my answer can you please let me know?

How much does each filter cost? How does the water taste compared to purified bottled water?

How do you stop it from leaking? I just got it today cannot wait to use it! Followed the directions perfectly it will not stop leaking very frustrated right now can you please HELP Me?

Where is it made?

A couple of things. First, this video claims each filter is good for 5,750 gallons of water. Where did that figure come from? At 2.25 gallons a day, that's 7 years. Every 4Patriots source that bothers to disclose the info says each filter is good for 200 gallons, or 90 days at 2.25 gal/day. Just a wee bit of difference, no? Second, the fact that the upper chamber and the lower chamber can each hold 2.25 gallons DOES NOT mean the system has a 4.5 gallon capacity as the video implies. It's a little more complicated than that due to gravity and fluid dynamics. If the seal between the upper and lower chambers is airtight, it's true it won't leak - water will stop flowing once the bottom chamber is full. However, the water flowing into the lower chamber must displace air. If the air can't escape from the bottom chamber, you get a vapor lock, and the water stops flowing into it. Other filtration systems offer a clip as an accessory for the lip of the bottom chamber to keep the seal between the two chambers from being airtight, improving the filtration rate. This means air can escape from the bottom chamber to allow the water to flow into it. But that also means when the bottom chamber reaches its 2.25 gal. capacity, any additional water filtered by the top chamber will also escape from the lower chamber by the same route the air did - we know that as a "leak." In short, you can't keep filling the top chamber without draining the bottom chamber. The system will only filter and hold 2.25 gallons at a time.

It's a poor design. I had to drill holes into the top of the bottom chamber because the water wouldn't drip into it. If its air tight as they designed it, theres no room for the water to drip into the bottom chamber if its full of air that can't escape. The company doesn't answer when you call them either, and the filters are releasing a black substance. I'll give it more time to see if it changes, but I paid a lot of money for this and shouldn't have had to modify it. At this point, i don't even trust the filters. Make sure to clean around the inside of the lip of the edges of the top chamber as well. Mine had this black gunk that I had to clean out with a toothbrush, and it took a long time. I'm not happy with it at this point, and it wasn't cheap either.

They are extremely slow filtering. Borderline worthless. My mother ordered 2 and it was so slow she thought she had done something wrong. So I put the 2nd filter together and it has been 16 hours since I filled it. It still has 3" of water left in it. If a couple people actually had to have water and this is all they had, they very well may die waiting.
