Abahambe!!! Lets go Gayton. I'm black but I'm definitely voting for Mckenzie. We need such pragmatic leaders in our politics. Especially a leader that is fighting to put South Africans first! Salute!
This also shows diversity of thought in the black community , similar to the coloured community she was describing. Everybody votes their interests in short
Indeed the Coloured vote cannot be a unitary vote for the simple reason that the Coloured label refers to people who are vastly different in their origin, ranging from Asians, European to native Africans, as well as blends of all sorts. But the family histories in society can be vastly different in their ethnic outlook, as well as personal & political outlooks informed by these histories. To begin with Asian colonial emigres (the CULTURAL core) are likely to have different outlooks than an Afrikaans-speaking Xhosa-origin family in District Six in 1800s that gradually blended, for privileges, into the Coloured identity after 1910 when natives were the first to be expelled onto the Cape Flats, but Asian/Mixed could still remain in Town. (And 1950 population registration Act, many African families, again, joined into the Asian/mixed label) These people obviously will have different nuances in outlook. Yet they all use the label Coloured. So the attempt by some to pretend the demographic is a singular continuous historical & political group is obviously ahistoric, fictitious and false.
Agrid2608 firstly Xhosa in the 1800 never existed in the Western Cape the first Xhosa was brought in in the 1945 to work in the harbour as far as your other comments it's clear your 2hand information you collected at the shebeen should stay their go visit the museum in Cape Town it will enlighten you

Coloured people in SA are one of the most mixed-race cultures in the world. Our Coloured community, in particular, is known for its broad racial diversity. We have individuals who look, Black, Asian, Mixed, etc., but we all identify as Coloured, with a distinct culture of our own. If you trace our ancestry back, you'll find that we are descended from a mix of races like the Khoisan people and colonial powers that arrived in Southern Africa. Since then, we have developed a distinct identity, united not by physical appearance, but by our shared culture. There's a unique aspect of our culture that I personally love despite our varied appearances, we are united by our Coloured identity. It's a glimpse of what the world might look like if racism didn't exist.
Thank you Tess I really appreciated the depth of this analysis, my wife is coloured and voted PA. You may remember us, we met at the Africa Charter event in July, where I was one of the speakers. I have learnt so much from this podcast, you guys are doing a splendid job in bringing political clarity in the midst of the shallow cacophony abounding in our country. More power to your team, you have an avid fan🙏🏽
I love the way you broke everything down and specified and clarified that ALL COLOURED people do not vote as a unit, and there's different reasons why coloured people vote for who they vote for. Thank you miss ma'am you've done an awesome job educating people on this video.
i live in a small western cape town, all our DA counsellors are coloured. they do an incredible job at supporting our community. they often give everything of themselves 24/7 to help our community with food, jobs, housing, hospitals. i was shocked when i went to a public hospital in KZN and saw how bad it was compared to how excellent ours are in Worcester + Roberston. the problem with PA is we as a community know so many of those representatives - they're crony businesspeople looking for tenders
@@NinohBrown I spent 2 months visiting my elderly mother daily in a Durban hospital about 10 years ago. The conditions were shocking , the attitude of the nurses was despicable and I doubt that they've improved much since.
Insightful and eye opening. In addition the PA has also done the following brilliantly: firstly they contest areas strategically through by-elections regardless of the chances they have because they know that it's a long game and every vote counts towards a momentum. I've seen them come with a group of their own people from outside the town where the by-election is and mobilise locals to such an extent that they get over hundred votes in African areas. I often wonder where they got so many votes cos they are not as visible as major parties but their mobilisation is quite effective. The other thing the PA does well is that they are realists and pragmatic when it comes to power hence they don't mince their words when negotiating for coalitions. Getting an MMC in a local municipality as a small party boasts the morale of your voters as their small number of votes get them power. Lastly Gayton McKenzie is a political assert for them. He has studied the Trump book very well and is consistent on it even in the face of white capitalists in BizNews Conferences
I like Gayton Makenzie and Kenny Kunene for what they stand for in our country 🇿🇦 l hope PA,MKp,ATM,ARISE SA,ACT and APC will join together for the best of South Africa ❤
Gayton has my vote, Not because I agree with all he says or his positions. Rather because he has a lot to offer due to his past and present and our Country as is needs unconventional leaders. We must not undermine the complexity which is SA which I think Gayton has a good overview of.
@@RedReignAuto our prison system is does not focus on rehabilitation. Gayton is not a changed man. His cunning psychopathic ways has mature to focus on political manipulation

There's no denying that majority of coloured people voted for the national party then moved to the DA and now PA particularly in the western cape. When we say coloured vote we are not referring to each and every single person who's coloured but we talking about the general majority
Gayton said that the Western Cape is in chaos. My first question is then why is he fighting for a dilapidating province if the province is in such a bad state. Why not tackle the other provinces and help to oust the ANC. It seems that the PA is ready to help the ANC to stay in power. The truth is not ringing clear if we look at the current situation.
Great point ..what Gayton and Fadiel from Coloured Congress done was to take us back I was totally shocked to see how the DA fucjed up the Coloureds community by taken away resources they desperately needed infact under Apartheid Coloured poeple lived a better life for that reason many of us moved into carrers and Business moved out of the Townships in generation and thought I was going ok I for one couldn't believe what my primary school my old sport field even the ereas I grew up in looked like ,59 years later it is fucjed up beyond recognition today I still regret the the day the National Party Goverment left the Townships The DA fucjed up our poeple and they were hiding it away from us what shame on the DA I wish I could meet with Windy and Grant that 2 Basterds and Helen Zille has a lotto answer they fucjen conned us I hope Gayton. Fadiel and Corne get a sizeable stake in the vote on the Cape flats to ensure the DA Basterds are held to account. For the Genocide of the Coloured poeple Yes I hear you ....they not entirely to play for a broken down community but by God we never lived like the poeple live in the Townships today fuck you Windy and Grant and you Helen after the Election I would insist you go to the Township and go and ask forgiveness for destroying a whole generation of coloured youth ......I will never forgive you Basterds I come from a Township and we never lived like dogs we see today. Yes you done a great job you kept the Economy Goin .but fi fucj sake you destroyed a generation of indigenous poeple that buildt the Western Cape fucj you DA you conned me 😡
The Western Cape can be fixed with the help of The Almighty God ...nothing is too difficult for GOD that HE cannot perform a miracle. We, the Coloured people were praying for a very long time for a man of God to be our Leader in this beautiful Country. I was born in Kensington, Cape and am 73yrs old. I long for the days during The Apartheid Regime. Post 1994 this Country is in ruins!!! and will no longer continue to be ruled by uncivilized, money hungry Mafia bosses!!!😡. I find the statement "Culturally Coloured, politically black" refreshing. If I were to improve it I would say "ethnically Coloured, politically black." For example, I'm Sotho by ethnicity, black politically black. Amandla to you Tessa!
I came across your channel as a suggested video as I have been listening to a lot of SA political videos leading up to the election. I am a South African living in Australia and voted for the first time internationally on the 18th May. Specifically drove 4 hours and stayed overnight to get to Canberra as that is the only place in Australia that we could vote! I just wanted to congratulate you on a very thorough very sensible discussion! I learnt a lot from just listening to this 1 video and am going to investigate more videos on your channel! Well done!
Excluding the coloured people were never an issue. Now it's called tribalism when coloured people organise themselves. When the BBBEE said " black people" and African in particular. Know when to complain.
Gayton cane out of jail 30 years ago not recently he gas reformed nd standing up fir inclusion, fairness of coloureds for Rainbow Nations in RSA nd uplifting for All South Africans, eradicating crime etc. Seriously He Deserves Better nd Inclusion
Well said, well explained Tessa. The fact that trusted, reputable community activists become part of the political decision making table as leaders or opposition, tells that the interest of the people on the ground will be seen to. One Nation under God. Salute
They all corrupt that's the problem, including the DA who claims to be squeaky clean. The leaders who you should vote for is the ones that genuinely cares to uplift your community, not ones that use you so they can ride the gravy train or so they can serve the White Elite.
@@johnvanreenen1843 central karoo they did a discent job in a short period. I can ask the same thing of the DA in Gauteng they ran Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, Midvaal, tshwane and Westrand from 2016. The services have deteriorated since DA
Exactly 💯 know who you vote for. Coloureds have been given great coverage and this platform too, brought them into belonging in democracy SA. Their voice was definately heard loud and proud. Great show Sizwe M. 👏
Well Zuma is a criminal Malema must still be tried for theft and Corruption. Ramaphosa escaped a trial so who better than a criminal that piad his dues to society. 30 years and proofed to have buildt a successful business and has committed no crimes since out of Jail Buti are you maybe wrong this time ???

If you knew your Bible you wouldn't be so judgemental ....the man paid for his crimes and people can change and get a second time. "You who are without sin, cast the first stone" 🙏
Hello,Tess love your analysis my Sista. But I would like to push back the point you made about the anc undestanding that no one person is bigger than the party. Two point I would like tp put to you: The defence of Nkandla under JZ when we were told about chicken runs and fire pool by sitting ministers. That was kowtowing to the individual at the expense of the party. Hence JZ was bigger than the party. Second point is Phala-Phala, same whitewashing startegies used but at the end they would rather suffer the organisational harm than call to order the most powerful person in the organisation.
Tessa if you were a candidate of the PA I would vote for you. Your eloquence is admirable, you are knowledeable, you have leadership qualities. I will have to think very hard who I want to vote for. As the saying goes, all that glitters is not gold.
How ... about forming a United Khoisan Front to unite the Griekwa, Namakwa, Attakwa, Gourikwa, Outenikwa, Hessekwa, Gourinkwa across the country to give the Aboriginal People within the 'coloured community' a Political Voice. The political struggle and armed struggle for the Khoisan DID NOT start with the forming of the Anc and Mk. We are proudly Khoisan and we know our history, pre-Colonial, pre- National party rule and pre-Anc rule. And we honor our leaders and freedom fighters of the past pre-Umkhonto we sizwe.. We cherish and love Kratoa, Autshumato and Dawid Stuurman, just to name a few. Dawid Stuurman is the epitome of bravery, he's the bravest of the bravest in the history of all the South African leaders combined
Most southern Bantus have Khoisan blood because of the intermarriages between the two way before colonialism, Mandela hence had Khoisan blood, Xhosa clicks, Shotho Clicks etc this is to show you how Khoisan and the Bantus mixed, you see it also in how the phenotypes of the Southern Bantus are different from western, Central Bantus due to this mixing.
Awesome Info, Thanks Tessa. I'm one of the many people that refuse to vote the same & expecting a different outcome so "PA GO & MAKE US PROUD". SALUTE!!
The problem here is that this lady is addressing non-existent assumptions: no one assumed that ALL coloureds voted for the NP or DP. The assumption are never made about the ALL that the lady is talking about. It is the localized MAJORITY that people often speak of. Examples would be that we'd expect MAJORITY of coloureds in the WC to vote for the DA than for the EFF, however one would expect coloureds in the Northern Cape to be more aligned to the ANC that to the DA and EFF. Gauteng coloured are just like Gauteng black people - our voting patterns are really hard to predict: we voted DA before, voted ANC , now voting EFF, ActionSA and PA. NB. The black people in KZN will most likely predominantly vote for ANC, IFP, MKParty and the god-given, economic emancipation movement of the people: EFF.
You actually highlighting her fact that of this post that PA has hardworking councillors not based on populist opinions of painting coloureds with one brush.
Light hearted joke. When I was born I was pink. Then I went white. If I go in the sun I go red then brown. If I get cold I go blue. If sick then green, sometimes yellow. So who is coloured ?
Yes I agree that people must be allowed to change their minds, however, that is not what Julius does. You admit first that you are discarding the past view, that should be clarified. A flip-flopper in politics is a person who changes what they said for opportunistic reasons.
"A flip-flopper in politics is a person who changes what they said for opportunistic reasons." - a meaninglessly loaded statement. As an ANC member Juju says I'll die for Zuma. As an EFF member Juju says Zuma must go. You call that flip flopping. Pre 1994 ANC wanted nothing to do with De Klerk. Post 1994 ANC protected De Klerk ka di bono. Is this the ANC flip flopping?
Not true stop hateing on this Great Man. His fighting an honest battle Coloureds must be included in all RSA has to offer they are South Africans bon nd bred just like anybody else
This Mackenzie issue with coloured is like saying Malema will win Limpopo and Zuma will win Kwazulu Natal which has been a narrative and it's wrong your nationality has nothing to do with any leader receiving votes, PA needs to work hard to convince every South African or they will become like ID was a provincial party reason I strongly believe thet won't get a single seat in parliament but they will continue to win wards
Gayton has time and time again said he formed PA specifically to address ‘Coloured’ issues. It then dawned on him after 10yrs of no success that politics is a game of numbers & incorporated fellow mabhantinti sushi king Kunene. Zuma will do better in KZN than in any other province. Limpopo is not a as homogenous region like say KZN it has Pedi, Venda, Tsonga people etc. Zuma did better in KZN than all ANC presidents including Mandela and Mbeki who couldn’t get a majority there. Zuma was hit 66%. DA does well in Western Cape because per capita it has the highest concentration of European blood. Ethnicity, race still matters in South African politics. Tribal politics is ugly but it’s a lived reality.
Not true. PA breakthrough comes from Coloured votes in WC. IF Good could make it to parliament PA will, because more Coloured people in WC will vote for PA and NCC than for Good.
@@khaltsharivist365 DA is depended on Coloured and Black vote to win the majority in the WC. Whites are but a small number compared to Coloured and Black in the WC. PA and NCC will take away a huge amount of Coloured votes from the DA, even overseas us Coloureds voted PA. We tired of the DA and its abuse of the poor. As for Zuma, the fact that he had to get false signatures to make the IEC register them is questioning their popularity.
To be honest it's either you deny the fact that the coloured agenda were on the table. Gayton, brought the political shadow that were taken away back to the coloured communities. If you understand how statistics work in politics you won't dare making such weak claims. There is a huge difference between the ID and PA. The ID never actively brought the coloured agenda to the table. In fact, De lille never knew how to build her base. I can take my words to the bank that the PA will be in Parliament, remember the power of a political party is based on the activities of their wards. Just a few brief lessons.
No shake. EFF is campaigning for 1st position. Gayton is still trying to convince the 8% coloured population to vote for him. This 8% includes children and teenagers
Gayton came into politics with an apartheid-like segregationist rhetoric that he thought would sway the coloured community into supporting him. He tried to further divide coloured and black people and address them as two separate racial groups, when we're in fact one. It saddens me that he has garnered more support throughtout the years and it just shows how far we still are from a united country.

Not bashing your channel or host.... But listening to the first 4 minutes and heard a lot of buzz words. Our coloured people need to start telling the truth in general.... I do agree with some point Gayton has made, but disagree with a lot as well.
