Much respect from Philly to you Pats fans. I worked with some guys from Boston who told me about the old Sullivan Stadium days - in contrast to the past 24 years. I am a Browns fan. Very surreal!!! 29 years ago almost to the day, the Browns played in their last Home playoff game and won. They played New England and Belichick was the Browns coach. I was at that game and behind my seats were a New England couple cheering for their team. As we left the couple gave congrats and said good luck next week! I was taken aback by that-never forgot it. NOW here we are 29 years later--Belichick has 6 SUPER BOWL RINGS. I am still waiting for my team to even be in a super bowl. I am sure that couple is very happy over these last 29 years with their team. Hell the Browns org. literally gave Belichick his walking papers! Unbelievable!!!

Your Browns do have four NFL Championships from 1950-64. Yes, a Super Bowl in the near future would be nice but there comes a time when NFL fans have to realize the league has had champs in both the AFL and NFL before the merger. Historical perspective is still important.

Paul Brown is the GOAT and it's not even close. Paul Brown has 7-championships, dominated the AAFL, dominated the NFL at the merger when the AAFL was considered the "inferior" league, and came in and dominated the NFL. Spoiled Patriots fans (I am one of them) up until recently were immune to the NFL's baked in goal of parity. The owners despised the Pats defying what they had to deal with year in and year out. They smacked down the Pats harder than other teams for overblown (taping games in an unauthorized area of the field) and made up violations (of the Ideal Gas Law) and yet the Pats kept on truckin'. Other owners have been waiting 20 years for the Pats to level out, then bottom out. It'll take about two years for them to get back to relevance just as the Bills and Dolphins begin their descent. The Jets? I'm a Pats fan. FTJ.
@nicholaskatsikas4904

Yeah that was the one reason why I was hesitant to see Bill fired because the Patriots are completely in unknown territory now while Bill was a known commodity and if he did give up the GM role the Patriots would probably move more into a retool than rebuild. If they make the playoffs in two years I would be shocked.

Bill DID NOT want to leave. Kraft said it would be hard to see Bill on the sideline against the Pats. Bill clearly still wants to coach. As Pats’ fan for 5 decades, the turn around happened when Bob Kraft bought the team and hired Bill Parcells and went to the stratosphere when Bill Belichick was brought to take over building one of the greatest dynasties in sports. The old Schaefer/Sullivan/Foxboro stadium was almost always half empty before Bob Kraft bought the team. I was a season ticket holder for 3 seasons from 1990-1992 and the team won a total of 9 games. Bill Belichick changed all of that. Thank you BBB (Bob, Belichick, Brady).❤

As neither a Patriot fan nor Patriot hater, I would sum things up in five points: 1. This was not particularly authentic. Bill didn't want to do it. If you want to see authentic, watch Pete Carroll's final press conference. 2. Bill is a great coach and a great student of the game. He adopted Pop Warner's approach to creative cheating whenever he could. He was not a great personnel guy. 3. Tom Brady, the best QB to ever play, fell into his lap and made his legacy possible. Neither Kraft nor Belichick get any credit for it. 4. Kraft's most memorable moment is getting a humdinger in South Florida. I'd love to know what he's done to deserve the Hall of Fame other than being lucky and rich. 5. I agree with Eisen. Belichick should have been able to leave on his own terms.

Belichick had a great run. He is definately in the conversation for greatest nfl coach of all time. I would like to highlight another contender. If we can't beat the oppenent without cheating, what's the point? One time, an assistant to Don Shula found a left behind playbook of the Raiders. Shula returned it. He coached Four different quarterbacks from Two different teams in a super bowl. He had the only undefeated season. Don't get me going on Vince Lombardi.

We are not in the building so we do not know what conversations took place, Bill said he was prepared to change his role publicly - does not mean he said that privately. Here we are though Pats are free from trade rules so can go hire their guy and Bill is free to find a team of HIS choice with no compensation needing to be worked out. I think its a win win for both sides and hope it was done in that spirit of friendship. Bill is going to gt that record though, no idea what these folks who are saying he is gone are thinking.

Question for New England and Boston fans. Despite gap in generations, which team/player success had the most influence in your lives and in the region, as a dynasty? Bird and the Celtics? Or Brady and the Patriots?

As much as I LOVE Bill, I don't think he is getting another gig... without Tom B he hasn't won.... I give Him, TB & Kraft FULL CREDIT for all they have done... I don't see another owner giving him full run of the team as he had before. Now can he deal with that? I don't think so... That is my opinion and a die hard Parcel, Bill disciple

For dozens of games even, every time I tuned into an NFL game (I'm a casual fan), and saw a QB going back after the snap, I saw Brady, when it was Jones....I didn't even know who followed Brady right after he left...but I looked it up, and most here know it was CamN. It is weird, after 20+ years. It is the end of an era; although it can be argued that happened when Brady left.

New England might become a Super Bowl team again but the "specialness" of this run with Tom and Bill will be missed. We were truly hated but respected. Going back to just another franchise will suck.

There was some disrespect from those who said Belichick was a cheat (spygate) and even Brady (deflategate). Don Shula was one of those.

Reid and Mahomes are trying their best to do the same thing. Time will tell if they succeed as much as Bill and Tom did. Early on I got so tired of seeing the Pats in the SB year in year out, but then I started respecting the hell out of what they were accomplishing.

How many times has bill face a number one ranked offense in the playoffs or superbowl (kansas city, LA rams) and completely sufficated them? They def all needed each other.

Taciturn Bill Belichick showed himself to be head and shoulders above Robert Kraft today (and not simply physically -- not that BB is that tall [he isn't], but he towers over little weasel Kraft). BB had the professionalism to wear a coat and tie whereas multi-BILLIONAIRE owner Kraft apparently couldn't find a necktie. Belichick, the man of notoriously few words to the media, stood tall and proud and spoke meaningful words (including laudatory words of Kraft right from the outset) WITHOUT NEEDING NOTES to the media. Pure class. Meanwhile little man Kraft looked bored, fidgety, and uncomfortable. Then Kraft was such a SCHMUCK that he had to look down on the podium and READ his prepared statement about Belichick !!!!!!!! Kraft had the nerve to try to deflect some heat off himself by saying that the parting of the ways was a MUTUAL DECISION (LIE!) with Belichick, and he couldn't even speak from the heart except for a perfunctory (yet obligatory) throw-away platitude at the end about BB being the "greatest coach of all times." And his faux hug of BB was incredibly awkward and insincere. I hope that EVERY time BB coaches against New England he kicks their A$$ for as long as Kraft is alive or BB is coaching. .

Belichik and Brady. Nothing will ever rival that again. They weren't just competitive, they were dominant. The only thing close to threatening that is the Chiefs, and I don't get that vibe at all from them. Bill and Tom never whored themselves out to insurance company commercials.

Paused at 0:02 because there is no way I'll ever listen to Brockman talk about this. There are some people in Boston who won't be e happy until the Patriots are a head case like the Eagles, babbling about dictionaries and crying coaches who think they're in the UFC.
