What I’m sick of is the media constantly pushing this narrative that Maye should start week 1. It’s all about generating clicks and views and has nothing to do with the “frustration of the fans.”Frankly, it’s at the detriment of his success and will only make us more frustrated long term. And they know it.
I haven’t really seen any Fan saying they want Drake to really start week one. We all know that’s a horrible idea. Even if he is by far better than Jacoby. He’s only 21 right now. Let him get some practices in during the season let them get a stronger line and more weapons in next draft/free agency then let him start week one. We have arguably the hardest schedule in the NFL. He will get sacked like six times a game.
@@Dog96Soldieryou don’t get better if you’re getting your shit absolutely rocked behind a terrible line. You can’t break the kid. Look at Belichick’s analysis of him at the draft. He’s really raw and not mechanically sound at all
Real fans understand how it works. It takes time. As someone who sat on metal benches at Sullivan Stadium and watch real bad football, then exalted in 20+ years of superior football, I say have some patience, ans STFU.
Everything is new from coaching to players. No one expects the offense to be great but we do want it to be competitive. Stop the nonsense. We had 20 yrs of greatness. To think it was going to last forever is crazy. Give this new team a chance to develop.
Belichick/Krafts/Wolf/Mayo all of them deserve criticism..no way in 5 years this team should have gone from Champions to 1-16..just keep making excuses...
I was sick of it last year but now I’m not because I’m very, and I mean very happy we got Drake. I am very happy if they sit him when the season begins and let him get some practice in. Let them get a stronger line before they start him. I’m excited for the future now.
Don't speak for the true fans. People should know a Championship team isn't built in one offseason. A competitive team is all you can ask for this early on. Don't rush Maye and ruin the kid, we can wait.
The overwhelming stupidity of the Boston area sports media in full display here. First, faced with the choice of picking your QB of the future with Maye OR trading down and fixing the offense by drafting a true #1 receiver (say, Xavier Worthy who will greatly help the Chiefs offense this year) and drafting the best tackles available, the media said drafting the QB of the future was a "no-brainer." Now, faced with the reality of having neither a WR #1 or a functional offensive line...which was THEIR choice...they want to destroy the QB of the future by pushing him into running this ill-equipped offense right off the bat which may well lead to the Pats destroying another young QB, a la Mac Jones. You cannot comprehend THIS level of outright stupidity. Stupidity upon stupidity upon stupidity. One fault of Mayo thus far that I can see is that he appears to be reading the mediots. Note to Mayo: Don't do that.
What the heck are you talking about. It's been like 5 years since the Goat left. Dynasty teams don't grow on trees or made instantly. Rome wasn't built in a day SMH.
Your right the goat did leave but it’s been five years and we don’t have a single notable star for during that time. Our best players offensively have been Kendrick Bourne Stevenson and pop Douglas there all serviceable players but on most other teams barely make the cut. Not saying we should be a top ten offense but we should at least have at least one guy to lean on at this point
I’m sick of Patriots fans thinking anything about 2001-2018 was “usual.” That was lightning in a bottle. We’ll never see it again, don’t let the Brady-Belichick era spoil the NFL for you going forward. I understand the frustration, but this is normal as hell to go through this. Anyone old enough to remember the Steelers in the 80s? The 49ers or Cowboys in the late 90s and early 00s? You don’t just hop from dynasty to dynasty, unless you’re EXTREMELY lucky. This is a full rebuild. And I look forward to stinking up the joint this season. Think about that Top 5, maybe Top 3, hell, maybe Top 1 pick when they aren’t in the market for a QB? Next year is the one to trade down and enjoy the haul in the next two drafts while some other team mortgages their future. But expecting a second dynasty less than a decade after the last one ended? You’d need to completely recalibrate your expectations. We’re back to real life where we just hope our local team wins ONE championship. You’ll absolutely hate football going forward if you expect another 20 year dynasty.
Nah, they just stink. They make terrible personnel decisions and have one of the worst rosters in the league. No one expects a repeat of Bill and Tom. That's a strawman. What people expect is more of what those teams were beyond those 2, which was loaded with talented, dedicated, and team-first players. Patriots have become a laughing stock and that never should have become the case. Nor should it be accepted with blind faith and hopium disguised as "patience" or "loyalty" or whatever.
I mean why judge anything at this point? The only ones impatient are you local media because of what you deem problems in trying to see which players including rookies can have good reps at left tackle, in traing camp, before any real scrimmages.
This is a rebuilding team and we fans know that and are ok with it. This season is more about setting up Drake for next season, at best they are a 5 win team with the schedule they are they are facing.
Pick a lane. If the line isn’t doing well, you can’t be mad at them for trying to fix it. Either the Pats keep it the same and they’re mad at them, or the Pats try to fix it and they get mad at them for moving guys around. There’s no winning over guys like Bertrand.
Well if Bill had a succession plan behind Brady or caught on to all the explosive players helping teams win games maybe he wouldn't have wasted so much time trying to convince us that Devante Parker is a #1 receiver.. 🤦
Stop pushing this narrative just because you need something to talk about on a Monday. We all know the offense is rebuilding. They just got a QB and two receivers. We haven't even gotten to padded practice yet, give it a minute. If it looks bad 4-6 games in, then complain and make sure you make enough noise to ensure that the Pats get a starting OT.
Things would be better if they had just made an effort to keep Mcdaniels, kept Meyers, never brought Matty P/Joe Judge back, kept Belichick, and drafted Joe Alt or other top LT depending on draft position this year. The expectations would 10-11 wins instead of rebuilding. So many front office errors these past few years... Reminds me of the late 80's/early 90's.
@@gp7944 Yes, I'm saying the Krafts should have exerted more control along the way instead of letting the ship steer so far off course. Bill is a better coach than Mayo, Mcdaniels is a better OC than what we have and he could have been here the last 3 years. What we have now is because of Bill's personnel decisions that the Krafts allowed him to make. Bill says he's responsible, I disagree and say ultimately, it's the business owner's fault.
I don't have a problem with the team taking time with Maye, but why is this camp progressing so slow? Day 5 and we're still watching QBs throw into the net.
They don't have anyone ratcheting up the intensity. Brady and Belichick aren't there anymore. And from what I've seen of Maye and Mayo, they're more of the "let's all have fun" type.
Clickbait! Real fans understand how it works. It will take time for this team to be good again. They will need another good draft and for the young players to develop.
@@_sweetchuck_they haven’t resigned the whole team. Bunch of players are about to be cut or dealt. Definitely didn’t sign Davante Parker who Bill inexplicably resigned last year
@@gp7944 cant even be honest to yourselves. The defensive starters are all the same from last season. Offensive line is mostly the same, same RB, same TE, mostly the same receivers minus the two rookies and Osbourne who I wouldn’t even be surprised if he doesn’t make the final 53. Now tell me how much the team has changed.
@@_sweetchuck_probably because they need players on the roster. Bill really couldn’t evaluate talent with Brady and had no success without him. Fans took his side when he kicked Brady out the door and took his side as they watch him plummet to a laughing stock. Now they’ll blame everybody in this regime instead of him too
I'm sorry but this has to be one of the most useless Sports shows in existence. It's just wildly delusional to watch a bunch of old guys speak on the first 4 days of MINICAMP as if we're 8 weeks into the regular season already. It's one thing to be a pessimist, another thing to be a realist. but these guys just speak literal USELESS talking points. we ALREADY knew coming into this year, we weren't going to be GOOD. so to sit here and watch these guys just make dumb comments like "ThErE's nOthInG tHaT sTanDs OuT" no SHIT..WE JUST GOT HERE.. like what were your expectations ? Players got to develop and we have a new HC.. like who literally chooses the topics for these shows because they suck at their job. Like the Tire point of these shows existing focus on minicamp is to over exaggerate the slightest of things just for the content Buzz this one was just annoying as hell to watch them by the end of the video you got a random caller talking about his health issues like no disrespect but we had to talk about football my guy
NO ONE should be surprised! The offensive side of the ball has very little talent! Bill left the offense a MESS! Can’t expect a turnaround this quick when we’ve had 4 different OCs in 4 straight years! That’s a sign of impending struggle! They did a nice job drafting a few kids who might develop, but this offense still has tons of holes!
You get terrible offense because for years TB12 hid all the issues...Bill could care less about offense/ignored offensive talent/stars in the draft...ENTER Wolf...basicly except for Maye..they reached on every pick from round 1 on..FA..he added project/reject RB/WR...no OT/OL signings that amount to projects....THIS with THE MOST $$ to spend in the NFL. Bottomline Krafts need to pout in their boxes this year...ITS ON THEM...1-16 its coming.
