matt confronting a double-murderer over leaving his laundry bag out on the floor and fighting him is wild. He said aaron was a chameleon and turned on the charm when kraft was around.....well, he was living a double life as a homothug so he had a lot of practice acting straight
My younger brother was a walk on at UF who had made the scout team at Florida when Hernandez was there. I'll never forget what he said when my fave NFL team, Miami Dolphins, passed on him in the draft. I called him and said Damn the Dolphins passed on him, I was hoping they'd take him. He said, trust me, you guys don't want him, He's a bad dude!
@@TalkingThrones I hadn't heard anything nor had most people at that time, and I followed the Gators pretty closely...all I knew was he looked like superman on the field.
@@Miadolph427Are you insane?? I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I NEVER want my team to EVER have a player (or have EVER had a player) who, you know, KILLS PEOPLE. Call me old-fashioned … and don’t get me wrong, I LOVE to win and I HATE to lose. But dang, I just feel like ya gotta draw the line somewhere. And for me, that line is HOMICIDE. But hey, you do you.
When all the Aaron Hernandez news was just breaking I remember reporters trying to get comments from players but getting a bunch of “No comments “ or “I’m shocked” until a reporter stuck a microphone in Matt’s face asking about the news on Aaron’s arrest… Matt said something along the lines of “ We’ve been told not to talk about this yet but I will say that Aaron Hernandez is the antithesis of everything I’m about, how I approach football & how I live my life”…. It was the way he said. You just knew he never liked him & wasn’t surprised one bit by the news.
@@drumagus2258yes. Matt Light is a professional. Professionals have standards. When Matt Light kills people, it’s a clean, professional hit job. He’s not some bum who gets emotional and shoots people in parking lots. Matt has zero patience for that kind of amateur behavior
@@justinsime3786 it’s unfortunate that you don’t know how much CTE damage there was on his brain, dude had suffered a tremendous amount of trauma from playing football. You can say your prayers that you never have to suffer that much pain.
Met Matt this last year at the Dayton VA. With a bus full of kids involved in his youth camp. It was awesome what a great and genuine man. Really knows how to pay it forward and help others…
I will forever be grateful for Brian Cox coming to the Patriots. That dude brought a toughness and attitude to the Patriots defense that they didn't have. Bruski and Vrabel kept the culture going after Brian retired. Brian Cox and Drew Bledsoe started the turn around Brady and BB took the team to a world class organization.
@@4uFridayBrian was critical to “starting” it all, but Rodney is the reason why they lasted long enough to become a “dynasty”. The Pats sharply declined after that first Super Bowl & Rodney kept them from being a flash in the pan. Before the fanboys come at me, no. Brady did not do this. Brady *helped*, but Brady did not yet command that kind of influence in the locker room
Not sure how you don't know him, but you should watch the recent interview he did on Julian Edelman's podcast Games with Names. One of the best!! And he's hysterical and soooo honest lol
“What the fck are we doing here, guys? That’s Matt freaking Light. He’s only been to fkin 6 pro bowls and won 3 SB rings. We do this again and we’ll never win another game”
Damn!!! This kind of insight into Hernandez - I'll admit - shocked the shit outta me. I shouldn't be shocked because of all that went down but still, it sucks hearing that not only he threw his career and life into a burning shit can but the people who knew Hernandez in that Netflix documentary weren't full of it either. Sad, just sad. Anyone else see that documentary on Aaron Hernandez? There's a lot corroborating and backing up everything Light is saying here. Matt Light, a NE legend, thanks for taking the time out for this great video. I just subscribed and hit the bell 🔔 great video guys! Awesome.
Honestly he never really stood a chance. He got assaulted as a kid, his dad was an alcoholic who beat him, his parents fought all the time, his dad died when he was 16. Definitely not defending him, but he had a troubled life right from the start. It’s no surprise he turned out the way he did
@@miken2968he’s talking about the person who uploaded the video and put the word “details” in the title. That implies that Matt was going to talk about specific details
Hernandez was told by the Pats that, like all players, he needed to "execute." But he mistakenly applied that directive against people he thought had wronged him.
See how the English language can really mess things up . Along time ago John Mc Kay head coach of TB Bucs was asked what he thought about the execution of his offense he said I'm in favor of it
It’s obvious why Hernandez got the leash he did. On the field there weren’t many TE’s that had the ability Hernandez had. He really was a do it all TE, Bill likely thought he was a perfect fit for the double TE schemes he wanted to run.
Maybe, but you don't send the "hypocrite" message to the rest of the team. And statements made by some of these coaches and team owners/execs that "character matters" looks silly when this kind of stuff is overlooked or ignored. I would not be shocked if Bill heard bad stuff about Aaron. Many of these teams have people whose job is to see what players are doing off the field.
@@georgeklimes7604watching the episode now after hearing this interview. The scene were Kraft is talking to Bellicheck on the practice field after giving Hernandez the 5-year, $40M is very interesting. Kraft is saying how impressed he is with Aaron, how he has such a big heart and Aaron told him knows he has to be careful with the people around him. Bill is just standing there with a look on his face like he can’t believe Kraft fell for the bs and just says “okay.”
@@A-A-Ron17 Yeah, it sounds like Kraft was clueless and gullible. Still, though, by treating Aaron differently, it sent a bad messsage to the rest of the team.
I can't believe I just watched this whole thing, but this was incredible. Matt Light seems like an awesome guy, teammate, friend, etc. Smart, well-spoken, and has obviously thought a lot about all of this stuff. Great questions and interview in general!
As a Dolphins fan but 🚫 t a Crowder fan, I remember when Hernandez's college buddy Channing Crowder became a Miami Dolphin and instigated a fight with Matt Licht during a game and Matt Licht beat the stuffing out of Crowder as Crowder ended up fighting to get loose and ran for his life.
A follow up question would’ve been great like why do you think Patrick Mahomes is a bad leader? Travis Kelce is definitely had his little issues in his early career I could see how you could say he has a different type of leadership they could rub you the wrong way I’m not saying I agree but I can see where you’re coming from but Patrick Mahomes on the other hand come on really? In fact name another active quarterback in the league who is outright a better leader there might be someone that’s just as good leader but I don’t see anybody’s head and shoulders above him right now playing the quarterback position you tell me?
Nobody is saying it but Hernandez was a great player who would have made the Hall of Fame. I've never seen a tight end with his skill set. The guy was unstoppable.
wtf is this dude talkin* about? No off the field issues from Pat or Travis and all coming from a guy that stole everand anything that wasn’t bolted down! 🤫 Literally makes no sense what he said! 👎🏼
A. Hernandez was a little girl on the inside, like all bullies. Unlike most bullies, he had a great opportunity for greatness, but he chose to ignore it.
Both truths ^. hes not a coward, he's reached the end of his life. Hell is repetition, and jail is repetition. There's no girls, no fun, no beer, no family... NOTHING! farting guys talking shit and trying to get something from you.
“Little girls?” Huh. I had no idea little girls were running around bullying people. It’s like we say things and don’t actually think how stupid they sound.
Lucas just said "bruh, oh my gosh" when he saw the end of the video 😂 I will say, he was like why is he going to a dog channel? He was upset but thank God for April fools 😎
When people talk about Hernandez I always get the sense somebody wants Belichick or Kraft or Brady to somehow be directly guilty for Hernandez even though it simply isn’t there
This is absolutely correct. Red flags are usually only red flags in retrospect. Everybody has their own shit going on (on top of the fact that playing in the NFL is a busy, stressful job). Nobody was sitting around analyzing Aaron’s every move. They knew he had “problems” before, but half the league has “problems.”
Don't mess with people that are crazy. And by crazy, I mean you cannot predict how they will react. Some guys will get so bent they will kill over a simple instance of disrespect. I have lived it .
That full chapter they did on Aaron was crazy. Good doc.Im surprised they didn't talk about the detailed bisexual allegations like the last doc i think Netflix did on Aaron.
@@weeshirley5934 Did u watch that doc or even read his wiki page? He left 3 suicide notes in which one of them he confessed being bisexual. His HS QB said they secretly dated, his gf at UF said he admitted to being bisexual, his mom said he would constantly call her and say he was mad that he was attractive to men which was confirmed on recorded prison calls. The only thing sounds like allegatons is Odin Lloyd threaten to expose him being bisexual after an argument they got in and that's y he killed him. Both dudes are dead so we can't confirm that.
4:50......He was only 6ft 2in 240lbs as TE in the NFL. Thats small for the NFL and Arron took on contact with the crown of his head so i assume he was always hurt and Light confirmed it.
@@JSalonsky when I first started watching it I saw three dudes up there on the screen I was trying to figure out which one of them was freaking talking! Then I realize it was that drama queen retired lineman for the Patriots spouting off 🤣
This Matt Light sounds like such a nice, kind, intelligent, humble man! If I was looking for a good friend, Matt Light has those good qualities. Sounds very trustworthy too.
I heard a conversation between him & his Baby Mama on the jail phone where she treated him like an annoying child. Wouldn't send him his commissary money, said she'd think about it! He begged her & she was outright mean & nasty to him. So, it definitely made me feel for him on another level. He was a tortured soul, people knew it & because he was athletic he was left unattended in life. Sad really.. RIP, Aaron.. God Bless you 😇🙏 Bless your little girl❤🙏😇
On the surveys we have to remember there are players who have an axe to grind because they either felt like they didn’t play a big enough part in the Super Bowl victory, that they were underpaid, which was often an issue with the patriots, where they know they won’t be there next season, so they take out frustrations through the survey.
WHY AREN'T MAHOMES AND MR. SWIFT NOT GOOD LEADERS, is the question that should have been asked at 10:12? The akward silence said everyone in that booth was hoping that the other guy was going to ask it.
So bill would give Hernandez a pass and longer leash after not.proving anything but consistently cut down Brady who fell into line and did everything and anything asked of him. And when players like Mathew Slater and Devon mccourty ("bill guys") say bill consistently went too far with Brady, it's an eye opener. Would 2007 Belichick have hired Romeo Cornell as offensive coordinator? No way!
Love how he calls out the Chiefs culture & lack of leadership from players in how they carry themselves off of the 🏈 field..I know he’s heard some things..
I hate the chiefs but they’ve literally been to 4 of the last 5 SBs. Maybe they shouldn’t have 3 SBs, but they’re clearly doing something right regardless of the refs
Wow.... give the guy credit. He stuck it to Mahomes and Kelce. Outside looking in. I do not believe the comments on their leadership. What does he know about the locker room? Was he there with the Kelce speech that everyone applauded? Do they have bad work habits? Stupid comments that should have been challenged.
Funny not a single player who has left the team, including Tyreek Hill who seems to post something on social media bashing the Chiefs every day, ever has had anything bad to say about Mahomes or Kelce. The worst thing about it is Light doesn’t say what he knows that causes him to think they are bad leaders. He just slanders them without giving any actual accusations they could defend against. What a coward and a phony
It bugs me when I listen to ppl talk and they say “you know what I mean” “like” “I know right” “And Um” “um” “right” “you know” I can go on and on lmfao
Taking a look at Zolak one thing is clear awaken 180 doesn't work. Once you hit 50 that weight is ten times harder to burn off. Trust me I know 🤦🏼♂️🙇🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
Beetle was a 180 guy too. It never gets mentioned about why it didn't work for him. Nor does it ever get mentioned about his obesity and how he needs to do something about it. Never, not once a joke about him and WTF he eats or his lack of exercise and such. When food topics come up, you would think Beetle's favorites are water and rice cakes!😂
The guy was already a murderer by the time he was a Patriot, and guaranteed was weighing heavy on his mind, knowing the long law of the law would get him.
Matt Light saying Mahomes and Kelce are bad leaders hasn't heard what the Chiefs players say about those two. They RAVE about them and their leadership.
On the field Him and Gronk were unstoppable plus the goat throwing it to u every time he was on the field i was speechless imagine having 2 tight ends u cant defend
I can believe Light about the observation of a Jekyll and Hyde, seriously didn't even see it for how plain and explicit that explanation makes sense, a kid that grew up the way he did, abusive dad but still kissed the ground he walked on. The energy it also takes to put on that facade that he created within and obviously crafted that character very well, made even more believable when his father had passed before his time and during his HS years still. No wonder the media is still talking about this many years later.
Cte is real I was a boxer for most of my life and now I have trimmers in my hands and my memory is shot. I have mood swings that are crazy. My kids are scared of me and it took my wife to explain this to me.
Bill did things in organised manner....so how organised was not giving Hern the trade he wanted to escape his local gang...good work bill..how did that work out
Total hit piece on Belichick. Lost the little respect I had for kraft. How can you be ungrateful to the man who helped you to the most unprecedented winning dynasty in history? When kraft leaves here, he is going to a lake of fire. Forever
"Right? Right? Right"? OMG, that is the most annoying verbal tic of all time. I stopped the video at 2:31, because I felt like putting my foot through the monitor.
Matt’s upset that Aaron wasn’t taking shit from the veterans and doing what he was told. These are grown men trying to haze professional athletes and Aaron let them know that wasn’t going to fly. He also let Welker know what’s up when he gave Aaron a snarky answer on how to work some equipment.
@@MartialFit50 He also blinded a guy at a bar after punching him in the face. Pats players knew his past and that's probably why they backed off trying to bully him.
Yeah I’d rather hear Colin cowherd or skip give their opinion on what they think rather than the starting center for Brady in those dynasty years cuz he isnt as well spoken as a talking head who barely played the sport
