Never before her and never again will there be a voice as pure and clear as Patsy Cline's. Whether you're a country music fan or not, you cannot deny that Patsy was blessed by God with an AMAZING talent.
I see people comment that she had a voice gift from God! Everyone who makes those comments is right! To prove those points further, she is up in Heaven singing for God! It’s obvious that she is a wonderful angel!
One of the best voices that has ever graced this planet. For music you have to go back the way...I would much rather listen to singers of the 50's & 60's than any of the rubbish thats about today...how the fuck is gonna be listenin to anything thats out now 50 years from now???? NO ONE...we will all still be watchin greats like this.
Alana Jordan, those early cowgirl costumes were designed by Patsy's mother, and Patsy actually preferred this down-to-Earth look; it kept more in fitting with the style of music she wanted to sing. Her later look was due to her manager and her record company. Patsy was a country girl, and that look was her own choice. No one forced her to wear her cowgirl gear; it's what she wanted to wear. As she got more popular, pop culture took over and told her how to dress. She looked beautiful in anything she wore. Shouldn't mock it.

I love this song and highly respect the introduction given Patsy. The live performance given here of this great song displays the great talent backing Patsy, as well as the tremendous talent Patsy possessed. /:-)
Some of these country songs just tear your heart out! So sad for the person who wrote it since, I'm sure he also lived it. (Sammy Masters as I just learned). And Patsy's delivery of the song brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for the upload of this great classic performance.

Thanks for putting up this video. I had never heard this song before..excellent. As you may have noticed from the lyrics of it, it was back in days when morals were much higher than they are today.

The first scene was the church, then the altar Where we claimed each other, with tears of joy we cried Our friends wished us luck there forever As we walked from the church, side by side The next scene was a crowded courtroom And like strangers we sat side by side Then I heard the judge make his decision And no longer were we man and wife I hate the sight of that courtroom Where man-made laws push God's laws aside Then the clerk wrote our story in the record A church, a courtroom and then goodbye We walked from that courtroom together We shook hands and once again we cried Then it was the end of our story A church, a courtroom and then goodbye
thank you hon... gotta love OUR Patsy... they just DON'T make voices like Hers everyday, she was truly "one of a kind" and a feisty gal, loved that about her... shame she is not with us but her music will ALWAYS live on... ~~~~ Becky

Her music became slicker, more sophisticated and pop-oriented as time went by and her country side was more and more diluted. We can only guess if she would have continued to allow this trend to continue. I don't care I only know she is right up there with Streisand, Garland Carpenter,Franklin, Houston and Carey etc. as one of the greatest who ever lived let alone of the last century.

I think Hank Garland is one of the backup musicians if you listen you will hear the distinctive jazzy playing which was very sophisticated for country western music.
I love Patsy Cline, but neither she nor the writer of the song was much of a constitutional expert. That's a VERY un-American line, and one that would have prevented us all from enjoying her recordings had they really meant it. (She would've been kept hidden by her first abusive husband.) Thank God we don't live by "God's laws." I like bacon cheeseburgers and my brother-in-law, but I sure wouldn't have wanted to become his wife when my husband died. You don't get to pick and choose which of the laws the old Jewish leaders wrote to protect their desert society you'll obey. Or, more simply, the only laws that we know are God's and not man's are the laws of nature, aka science.

No lip sinking there then. I thought she looked gorgeous in that outfit. I guess young Ernest knew talent when he heard it, and it certainly impressed Little Jimmy. What a star she was.
Wonderful 5* post. Patsy was just great. I have not had the pleasure of viewing this before, and I thank you sincerely for allowing me to do so now by sharing this wonderful post.
Thursday March 5, 2020, now 57 years after the end of the life of Patsy Cline (September 8, 1932 - March 5, 1963).-----The song says a lot, "man made laws push God's Laws aside".

she was GREAT, my parents collected all different types of music, (hence my "varied", "eclectic" tastes...), and my Mom loved Patsy, as do I... it is a sad shame Patsy left the world so soon, I often wonder just how much more Great stuff she would have put out... others as well... she had a voice like No other, FOR SURE... my favs by her are "Crazy" OF COURSE lol and "Leavin' On Your Mind" but I love all her stuff lol... RIP Patsy, we miss you...
