Why can't today's female country singers learn to sing from the heart like Patsy? Yes, some of them have good voices; but no soul to go with it. When I hear some of the tunes by this lady; I get "goose bumps".
@Ken Kostyra That's because the majority of today's mainstream music & artists are "processed" sell outs!!!!!!! The "Nashville suits" process & autotune the feeling out of everything they touch!!!!!!! Go back & take a look at Carrie Underwood when she was beginning verses right now. In the beginning that girl was a "heart singer" very similar to the way Patsy was, but she sold out & lost the passion!!!!!!! She's not the same person & her voice hasn't gotten better with age like it should have either. She's gotten too used to the tricks of the studio & it's made her a lazy singer. She's still got the volume, but she doesn't have any real guts anymore. She's like "Rocky III" at the beginning when Sly gets pounded by Clubber Lang. She's forgotten why she was singing in the first place. The money & the "Nashville suits" have ruined her. Patsy was from the old school of singing & she would study a song for a bit before she recorded it. She would do that so she could understand what the song was all about. That's the way the REAL artists & entertainers used to do it & that's the only way you can sing a song with any feeling. You have to understand it!!!!!!! It was the same way with Hank Sr. & that's exactly why he was extra great when he sang songs he wrote. He understood those songs because.....................he'd lived them!!!!!!!
what a wonderful melody and lyrics. Patsy had a voice that nearly all female singers can only envy. She was truly a very special individual and her loss was tragic for her family and fans.
...What wonderful memories you recall. I can't help but wonder to what infamous melodies they continue to sway together for in the company of and for the certain pleasure of God, by the symphany of Miss Patsy, In the arms of each other...May they both know peace & comfort - Evermore...
Broke my 5 year old heart to find out this lady died before l was even born it broke my soul in two 😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤ god rest pasty clien and to my clients ave lost throughout my job life as ladies hairdresser l loved my lady friends too much sometimes xxxx it hurts
The best voice of the greatest generation, i'd wished i'd been a part of it. Now I know why my mother always sang such sweet lullabies to us children...she had such wonderful resources to draw upon. I only hope I am so fortunate...Classy Miss Patsy....love you
Patsy Cline's voice and delivery had a resonance with the human soul. I believe Susan Boyle has the same rare qualities and I hope she will win America's heart with some Patsy Cline standards.
I was right about this version verses the Bobby Lord version. Bobby was a great singer, but his version wasn't produced as well. With Owen Bradley producing it & Patsy singing it, you've got a musical masterpiece every time!!!!!!!
@lazurm yes, you can. I have many cds worn out. My records still play fine. Also when a cd goes out, the laser cant read it. A record can be scratched up bad, but it will still play no matter what.
I hope she's right, cuz if not.... I dont know what I'm getting myself into... First Loves are the hardest break-ups I'll bet Man...We ever did love eachother tho... Always will I guess DRS tattoo'd to my heart on the inside forever
my dad wrote that song. he sent it in never received any royalties from it. My brother has original copy dated.of course it wasn't Patsy's fault she didn't know,Jim Reeves sang it first
You can't wear CDs out since the only thing touching them is light, so don't worry about that, eh?! :) And though Patsy is lost, it was a LOSS (reread your posting). And, yes, pretty, talented, the whole shabang.
