Absolutely fantastic series, Lucas - thank you! No surprise with your choice, best of luck. I stayed at the Centara Azure a few times, very nice hotel. Loved the location and that aquarium. Pool was never too busy but I can appreciate your considerations as a long term resident.

Lucas, I’m very happy for you. I really liked the approach to your selection and thank you for sharing. As a condo owner in Pattaya it was interesting and informative to witness your search and thinking. From your analytics, you are a very methodical, I expected the subjective to play a little more of a roll in you decision, and applaud your attempts to minimize it. During the series, I kept comparing my unit to the ones you were looking at and at the end used your analytics to gage my unit on your scale. It surprisingly did very well. I almost emailed you at the beginning of your series, but didn’t believe it would compare to new properties (it’s 16 years old now). It’s a 60 sq meters one bedroom 5th floor unit boutique condo on Soi 1 about 150m up from the beach. Bought it new (as construction neared completion) and more as a personal vacation condo but have since started renting it out. I’ve been renting it out for the past 7 or 8 years (couple of years to long term renters but more commonly to shorter term renters, 1-3 months). Price is 20k baht/month, but negotiable in todays climate. Thanks for the insights.

Great final choice R4K good rationale behind the choice too, very well thought out. All the reviews are very useful to anyone looking for a condo there. I think me personally i preferred the one with the mountain views and cafe on site but like you said everyone has different list of must haves. Glad you found the right one for you, wll be interesting to see the more in depth look at it. Somehow I missed the Grand Avenue vid first time round had to go back and watch it 😂 nice place! I was hoping to get Pattaya/Chon Buri or Hua Hin, but I'm going to be in Bangkok... someday... if I ever manage to get my paperwork. This condo series has been amazing, thank you for sharing your search and your process. I love how organized you were in making your decision, you didn't just go with your gut and then regret it for the next year.

Absolutely loved this series!!! Thorough and objective and super analysis. I have to say all of the units were, by western standards extremely affordable. I can live like a king here on my retirement income and still save most of it. I can't wait to retire. This will probably be my destination or at least high on my consideration list. Loved the scoring system, clear and easy to evaluate, especially after viewing a number of properties. Lunch was great value for money but too often I've found the timing of the food being served to everyone at the table to be too inconsistent in many places when having more than 2 guests.

Am glad you did the full series, although I think I called it a few videos ago, there was almost no way anything could beat Grand Ave everything had to offer when you put it all together. Look forward to the next video, and hopefully a video of walking the area :)

Thank you Lucas, for sure I will use the same system to choose my condo when I will retire in Thailand in april 2022. I will share this video to my best friend so he can see how clever it is. I also consider mandatory to get a well protected place for my big bike. Of course I will rent, not buy.

That 70 meter unit really appealed. I won't have a motorbike (to start at least) whenever they let me in so the location is really key. I think it was smart to only rank the pool out of 3. I loved the huge pool in the last video but even though I like swimming, I'm just not going to be in there that often. Gotta have that subjective "feeling"category as its all about what you are gonna enjoy living in. Great video series!

Great series of videos! :) I have a condo in Centara Azure, and even though i love it there, there are certainly a lot of hotel guests at the pool during the high seasons :)

Soi 15 is my home in Pattaya - stayed Centara/Avenue condos and Hideaway - can't beat the location - always thought Grand Avenue would be the one - it ticks all the boxes and that is a great deal - I will look to stay there when I return - congratulations.

Great series of videos... it looks like the service levels at the wine collection has not changed... i gave it two goes but both times despite it not being busy the service was poor... wrong items and a forgotten order.
