Beautiful building and communal facilities. Smack in the centre of town. Looks like the developer has brought Bangkok quality to Pattaya. Units look tiny though but would be interesting to see some of the bigger units.

lived in pattaya for about three (3) months a years for almost nine years. wonderful city. high stress employment and could not of been in a better city to relax. it "met" me at the airport when I arrived and honest and true...

I have such good memories from when the land was occupied by the Diana Inn Hotel. Such and old style place but plenty of character. My friend was an Elvis impersonator and used to occasionally sing in the Green Bottle Pub. I guess the old stuff has to make way for these new condo blocks. I'll always prefer Pattaya as it used to be.
Last time I saw the building was about a year ago and it was still wrapped up and an eyesore. Wow, the roof layout is stunning and the rooms seem very functional, very impressive and I could happily live there even though the rooms are on the small side. It’s hard to see from the footage but is there enough rise from the street to give good flood protection to the beautiful entrance? Great vlog and also a good nod to the Robin Hood’s tasty looking breakfast,
You haven't mentioned what the price of a typical unit would go for in this high rise. The size of the units look more appropriate for hotel stays than to live comfortably as a home.
Nice to see yet another new condo tower nearing completion. The only thing going for it as far as I see is the location being very central but with noisy beer bars right outside. The rooms are shoeboxes and would only be for short term stays…hence the comments already for air B&B guests who will be noisy. Pools and the bar restaurant look far to small for a 600 room condo block??

Freaking incredible location on 2nd Rd/soi Diana (5 min walk to LK Metro, 5 minute walk to Beach 🏖️). Nothing like a brand new luxury building!! 👏. Can't wait to stay there...
Not my cup of tea plus it's built by the Chinese hmm that says it all if u want to live in a sandbox yes not me pool gym etc excellent I would rather sleep by the pool.
As of today ~19 units for rent starting at 15,000 pm (45 for sale). I have a feeling that they're building faster than what they can rent out so prices should come down as the building loses the new car smell. The Base has ~114 units for rent starting at 7,500 as a comparable.
The first years in the 90’s when I came to Pattaya and Samui every year,I always stayed at Diana Inn. Yes,on the plot of Edge. What a difference!. Where the Kiss restaurant is,there was a noisy bar complex open all night. So,because of the noise,I later stayed at the Sawasdee hotels.. Have been to them all. Some was very bad.
I remember when this place was a lot and Bronx pizza was right there great to see it finishing up. Going to have to stay there sometime. The bathroom design reminds me of my japanese house currently.
As soon as I saw the intro to this video, I thought immediately of The Base and like the base, it will predominantly be an alternative to a hotel stay (airbnb). Beautiful, new condo with extraordinary views....I'd stay there for a few days.
Tiny room and no balcony what a joke 😆 ... nice of you to be so positive about a place that is so tiny with too many rooms in one building .Enjoyed your episode but not impressed with rooms , it does define the new market that Pattaya will enjoy as it becomes a place for low budget retirees possibly . Big change from the days where buildings like Northshore were catering to much more upscale clients that now don’t think would be interested in the new Pattaya with the tour busses , butchered trees on beach road and walking street gone ....... the Tree Town clientele will love it , a perfect match .
Hey Lucas, thanks for sharing, the building itself is quite impressive , the rooftop infinity pool, the gym, the bar and restaurant all look great, just a personal preference from me is that wherever I go on vacation I always like to sit on the balcony and have a coffee in the morning when I wake up, and maybe a glass of wine in the evening prior to going out for my evening meal, so for me personally I wouldn't like to compromise on something like that, plus the rooms even though very well appointed they are terribly small, and as you said would be at the high end of the current market price for condos, kind regards from dreary old England 👍👍
I live in Bang Yai / Nonthaburi at “Plum Condo “ 7,500 baht across the street from Central Plaza . Most condos in this area have the Infinity pool , sauna , garden , library, pool table , and much more . . Mine is on the 38 th floor. America needs these types of condos.
That is the go for the Edge as its built and owned by a Chinese Consortium that says it all small rooms would be like living in a jail cell.Lovely outlook of the city,Pool Excellent Gym good indeed of course might be better to sleep next to the pool at least you have plenty of room to move around.?
I stayed in base condo next to the edge. That breeze is there between buildings...when you walk in and out of the building breez is always there The base condo is also nice place to stay and same view.
Amazing facilities and views over Pattaya. Bit rich for my budget but great to have a look around now it's finished, I remember seeing it being built in 2019 when I was there. Thanks for the tour loucas.
I like the centric sea condos . Only trouble with buying one of these to live in is that too many get rented out to Airbnb. Even when it illegal to rent these places for least then 30 days.
There does need to be some kind of oversight on the AirBnB nonsense. I'm in US and recently a story broke about a guy making a fortune on AirBnB, but, as it turns out, he was renting apartments and then turning around and sub-letting, despite the legality issues.
Very nice review of the edge. A place I'd live, I really like the bathrooms. You can order in food, or have somebody come up and cook it for you. No problem. Thanks for the Video I really like these reviews.
Amazing location and building. The room was terrible tho unless you’re there for a short period and pretty much just sleeping there. I’d honestly rather have a larger Thai style place for a fraction of the price.
I disagree, and I do live in Thailand. Why would I want to rattle around in a big cockroach infested Thai style house, when for one person this place works fine? I ain’t going to invite the family for Sunday lunch! The main point would be price for rental as far as I’m concerned, would I buy one? Not in a million years.
@@barrysmith2361 I'm not talking about some crappy 5k pm place on Soi Buakhao. There are plenty of mid range Thai style places available (least not in times like these) for ~10k pm. No doubt the tiny room in this video will be on Airbnb or mypattayacondo for 25k pm. I'd rather have more living space and source my own gym, pool etc. Incidentally I've stayed at plenty of more 'upmarket' residences in the past, doesn't mean they're exempt from cockroaches! And thanks for confirming you "do live in Thailand". I don't live there currently, but have for many years. How that's relevant to the discussion I'm not sure.
@@137dylan But tell me one that is located as well as this place? Location, location, location. There are currently far better condo's just down the road in Jomtien for 5k a month, but they are down the road. You seem to want a big place, I dont. And 25k a month? Really?
Reality is once things here have returned to normal, it will be a scrambling to get to any pool lounges. Russian and Chinese will have beaten you all to it. Russian owners particularly love sun, so you'll find 'reserved' towels thrown onto them daily. The cabanas will be taken up. All facilities within will be occupied. The gym equipment will be taken up. Over 600 condos there, so expect a lot of Air B'n'B rentals where those occupants will not have the same politeness and manners as owner-occupiers. I hope the sound proofing has been done properly for the condos as holiday rentals most often occupy many more people than the condos are meant to house. Slamming bathroom doors, loud yelling, talking, music, etc. Those corridors outside each condo sound very echoey. Expect drunken and disrespectful tenants to come and go noisily. The other thing - having facilities such as bars inside a condo complex - they need to be viable enough to remain solvent. They may be leased to external business operators. The condo I lived in had a bar that never opened as nobody wanted to run it. Not saying this will happen. But been there done that. To rent may be okay, but I'd not be buying personally.

The common areas are super nice but the living space wasn't even as nice as most $40 per nite hotel rooms IMO...don't think I would rent there...let alone buy a unit...
I figure they called it The Edge because they built it right up next to the edge of the traffic on Soi Diana, no sidewalk. I thought it would get better when construction was complete but apparently not.

Appreciate the blog, I really love the views and amenities. However to be fair, based on the unit you showed. It's nothing more then fancy hotel room. I hope "condos " are little more then that.
I stayed at the Base many times.. when the bars are open if you are on that side it is very noisy till the wee hours. same thing for the Edge I presume

i like the video. This Condo looks like a new Hotel that just opened. All the gimicks. But at the end of the day can you live in it. Looks no bigger than a hotel room.
I would give $200 USD max for the room and pool but no more because no balcony and small room. Can you do a video on nice condo rentals in Pattaya for $5,000 baht per month or less?
On that plot was a bar called The Green Bottle I believe. It was famous because it was the only air conditioned bar back in 1988 and it was the only place to cool down. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong Nice video Loucas 🙏
