15:55 The movie you're referring to is called Sully: Miracle on the Hudson, and it's based on a real plane landing from 2009. The plane hit birds and lost both engines at a ridiculously low altitude, and the only remotely straight and level area to land the now-crippled plane was the Hudson River. It would have been so easy for that day to have ended in tragedy, but the pilot managed to save the lives of every single passenger on board.
When I was a kid I didn't know how to get Waterfall in gen 2. But I knew Seaking learned it naturally because of enemy trainers so I caught one just to get to the league
I did the same in Emerald because I hated fighting Jaune and wanted to just go to the League. Spent way too long, grinding up a Goldeen/Seaking only for it to not work.
I did the exact same, except I know I had one in Pokémon Blue so used the trade function to get it into my copy of Gold. Could not figure out where the Waterfall HM was
@@dannyca86 I took a wire and sent all the electric signals to my battery for the 0s and 1s required to flash the save file onto my pokemon crystal save data Just kidding, I asked a friend
One dark bit of trivia from gen 1 and the Firered and Leafgreen remakes, is the space shuttle in Pewter city museum... The shuttle was originally meant to depict Challenger, as a sort of tribute to the disaster, but it was decided that it was inappropriate to include such a dark tribute in a kids game, especially since the game has nothing to do with space travel. So late in development, it was decided to use the name of another shuttle from the fleet, using Columbia instead. But as fate would have it, that shuttle too would be lost in a tragedy, so now the Columbia shuttle forever sits as a memorial in the first generation pokemon games, for no other reason than to avoid using it as a memorial for a different shuttle... So for the remakes, they decided to ditch naming the shuttle entirely, and now it just calls it a model of a space shuttle...
The medals in BW2 were what got me started on the living dex way back when. Finished it just one month before XY came out... When trading became so much easier.
and Kyurem’s theme is a broken version of Zekrom and Reshiram’s theme (both electricity and fire are represented in the music), which now looking back hinted-ish the DNA splicers in BW2
The trainers blocking Canalave early isn't because of cheaters. It's because you can use surf after badge 5 but don't get it until after doing the Celestic stuff. Doesn't mean you can't trade for it before getting it.
Kind of a shame that they didn't show off Kyurem's version of the Gen 5 legendary theme. It's been a while since I've actually checked it, but I believe it's basically just lacking anything extra, so those parts where you hear fire/electricity is now just empty... which, while maybe not strictly interesting, certainly suits the story behind Kyurem
Actually, it has an extra bass throughout the track and a slightly altered intro melody. It kinda gave off more of a chaotic vibe, since Kyurem was more monstrous and less understood compared to the legendary Reshiram and Zekrom and the regal visage they impose.
Funny enough, a pokemon game DOES call out for cheating ahead. In Black/White, at the end of Chargestone cave, elder Juniper will ask if you've seen a Klink. when walking through chargestone cave you can encounter one, but you can use repels to not encounter one, right? No. N is at the exit and you must fight him normally, and he has one on his team. But if you cheat and skip this one, you won't see one, and Elder Juniper will call you out, asking how you haven't seen one yet.
The rarest shiny circumstances situation for RSE would be for your starter to be shiny, the Poochyena that you fight being shiny, and the Ralts with the Zigzagoon all being shiny from one save run. I need the odds of that happening
Okay I genuinely didn't know about the Driftveil Drawbridge, that's a really sick detail they snuck in there, even if they knew almost no one was gonna stay there for so long
I've got truly obscure one. In generation six for X and Y I during the Pokémon capture tutorial the bunny is registered in your Pokédex as you having seen it, however even if you encounter a shiny variant for the tutorial it will still register in your Pokédex that you have seen the normal one. I know this one from personal experience so I wonder if it's record anywhere though.
I had a Seaking as a tot in yellow before my siblings showed me where to get Squirtle so I knew Waterfall was in gen 1, with that said, I had no clue until now that it was only the Goldeen line that could learn it that gen.
I only knew the Seaking with Waterfall thing because I would get bored and fish at the water next to the guards who check your badges. There are a few evolved water Pokémon there so I would grind and see what popped out.
I knew the Zekrom and Reshiram thing because I just organically noticed it when I played the game and went online to check if they did the same for Reshiram and like I suspected, they did.
The Driftveil Drawbridge one would make sense cause of Skyla being a Pilot 👀 Also Lt. Surge was a Military Pilot so the Helicopter sound would make sense too 👀
I knew Seaking had waterfall, since gen 1, but not because of the games. But Seakings very first ever Pokemon trading card, in the Jungle Expansion. Waterfall was one of Seakings attacks on the card!
That scripted battle from Sinnoh was tested & the person did lose to the Mon which caused their game to freeze. So yeah if you don't wanna have your game freeze, don't try to lose those battles. So it was interesting that it didn't happen with the scripted Hoenn battle. Like GF dropped the ball there.
Actually pat, Once a Pokemon's lore based ability is used it is permanent in that area For instance, if catching a Pokemon like Suicune reverted it's power of Purifying water Every area with water would instantly become polluted again
So I knew the Waterfall thing and even tested it with Gold and Silver by trading a Squirtle with Waterfall back to Pokemon Blue and I was happy to see that yeah it went back with the move no problem.
1. Didn't know this 2. Didn't know this but couldn't you just walk over the trees? 3. Didn't know this but in my defense I used to never play with sound back in the day (mostly cuz I played before bed and I had to be sneaky). Still have to get around playing BW/B2W2 4. Didn't know this but I don't think it's fair to judge people for this as come on: 1. you need to randomize Pokemon and hope that it gets randomized in a fire pokemon. 2. During that run, during the catching tutorial you need to have the luck the pokemon uses a fire move. And then hope it burns. Definitely not something that would happen a lot. Also inb4 somebody RNG manipulates for shiny Ralts and Zigzagoon and demands money XD 5. Didn't know this but it's something I assumed due to it not being of any importance and something you can easily bypass by teleporting 6. Did know this 7. Did know this 8. I knew about Waterfall being in gen 1 and only by Goldeen/Seaking but I didn't know it was at level 39 (or I forgot), but I know for a fact only those 2 learnt it through levelup in gen 1 9. Didn't know this 10. Didn't know this
Patterrz, man, the internet is literally EVERYWHERE now, not to mention that there's numerous food delivery services at this point; DoorDash, Hello Fresh, Factor, etc. Quit worrying about how 'isolated' Mnt. Moon is from the rest of Kanto and Johto too. They'll be just fine.
