Patti LaBelle and Anthony Anderson sing the 'Good Times' theme song. Watch the full performance of Live in Front of a Studio Audience: 'All in the Family' and 'Good Times' on ABC, streaming, on demand, and Hulu.
@@theunbalancedlibra3815 If you can't see that she now uses a falsetto instead of a chest voice to hit high notes now, then there is no need to even discuss it with you, because you're either in denial or pretending.
Willie Moore you have your opinion and I’ll have mine. I know what she uses mostly these days bc of age on the body but, however you look at it, that ending note was still a belt.
@@theunbalancedlibra3815 Not opinion it's facts. She uses it because she can't hit the real chest notes anymore which was her trademark. When you can't do what you're famous for it's time to retire. Falsetto is for men to hit high notes.
@@Calvin375 He was talking about the deep part after the soprano ending....listen to the original theme of Good Times and you'll hear what Anthony was talking about that was his part lol
@countrygirl countrymusiclover that's the class you couldn't pass because your boyfriend definitely left you because you couldn't do that let that marinate...
@countrygirl countrymusiclover ladies and gentlemen the hater is now in the building already know who this is I'm not going to mention their name because they're not worthy of it some people on here already know who it is but ignore this crazy mentally ill person they still upset and angry with Patti this person was stalking her literally and it's not a woman if you guys checked the profile this is a fake profile person so what does that tell you?! 😒
@countrygirl countrymusiclover Troll but I'll indulge you. Luther. Peabo. Billy Ocean. Jeffrey Osborne, Freddie Jackson and Barry White for the ladies and guys would enjoy the talents of Anita Baker, Chaka, Sade, Randy Crawford, Patrice Rushin, Patti Austin, Angela Boffill, Phyllis Hymen and Vesta Williams, most of which were respected across genres.
@@shaybrown7087 She does look good for a woman her age, but just like many other celebrities, we can thank her plastic surgeon for that. She's had cosmetic surgery that went well. She just can't sing anymore, that guy sounds better than her. Everyone is pretending she sounds good because of who she is.If she was a complete stranger and sounded like she does you wouldn't say she could sing, she would probably get booed off the stage from some of her recent performances I have seen, it's actually embarrassing to see her sing these days she should retire, there is nothing wrong with that I don't feel sorry for her she is wealthy, that's just greed and her ego. I wish show business was like sports, when you can't perform anymore you have to sit your ass down.
and you can feel the whatever way you want but plastic surgeons cannot have you walking in heels singing... and btw her money and sold out concerts around this country shows millions disagree with you. but you are entitled to your opinion...have a good year
I was only 3 years old when the 1st Episode debuted in 1974 and 8 years old when the final Episode ended in 1979, those were some "Good Times" for me growing up😉! "Good Times" was, and still is, one of my FAVORITE shows to watch and I would walk around my house saying, "DYNOMITE", just like JJ😂😂😂!!!
think I was four when it aired , my girlfriend and I used to watch in syndication in our preteens, was in tears almost during the song tonight just brought back a lot of memories
The lyrics on this are deep and provide a great message. Life can be very tough for all of us, even brutal, but never forget to find your GOOD TIMES as they are there if you look.
Wow that choir really blew my hair back. They were fantastic and sounded just as good as the original. At the end of the episode I wish they did the song again. If you remember at the end of a Good Times episode it started again with “just looking out of the window watching the asphalt grow. Thinkin how it all looks hand me down” etc. I needed more of that theme song! Haha
@@mookeychase0907 if you were a fan of the show I’m sure you remember the painting that they would show at the end also. Everybody was kind of stretched out but dancing and feeling funky at a nightclub. All good!!
@@Rob-cz9ji Bro I'm 58 grew up in West Baltimore of course I was a fan… that pic is monumental all of us that watched the show when we started to see that art work of the exaggerated figures boogeying we automatically think about Good Times.. They also tried to pass that off as JJs work..
@@mookeychase090755 here. I loved when James would slam the bedroom door so hard you would think the entire set would fall apart! Oh and when JJ and Thelma would fight he would say “look here you big Chihuahua head…” so good so good!!
@@Rob-cz9ji Bro I watch it everyday on one of them extra network channels and it seems funnier for some reason and I frequently bust out laughing same thing with Archie Bunker George Jefferson and Sanford and Son😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Patti is the greatest... she’ll sing yo part and hers above the key 😂😂😂 Then Anthony gne say “that was my part” baby yu gotta be quicker than that when singing wit Motha 😆 better be glad she didn’t take the whole song 😁
Can she still sing without the aid of a Microphone like she/They did back in the 60's? They say it was something to see The Bluebelles perform those dramatic high soprano climax in a concert without a mic. In the rank of the female groups The Bluebelles. Their upstaging skills were none the second.
@@nutinman4u Probably not in chest her chest voice has declined a lot and that’s natural being that she’s almost 80. But Patti at 76 has been able to sing up to a #C6 in head voice which is insane for someone her age because there are many 20 & 30 year old singers who cannot hit that note.
Wow it`s amazing how strong and powerful Patti Labelle`s voice is even in her old age.....She really drowned out the choir and the man that was singing with her... She can still hit all the big high notes with as much power and force as she did 40 years ago ...She totally blows away any other singer out there today .
They should absolutely bring back this show, Live in Front of a Studio Audience There's nothing like seeing the live energy, nothing compares to that! Heck, even a live studio audience on a pretaped sitcom is still great
Anthony was so nervous and stiff. Miss Patti was trying to give him a hug and he said something to her and she responded "I know". She killed it though. Love her!!
that was 100 percent rehearsed that way... he feigns to be overwhelmed by her voice and stops... she wraps it up amazingly... he's impressed... completely planned
@@dzg8937 no doubt! No shade to Aunt Patti, she sings ZOWN but stays flubbing the words tho lol. Just like a Gemini to make her own lyrics 😉 (all love)
Always dug this theme song from way back....something about how those background harmonies stretched good "tiiiiiiimessssss...." & you can hear that low vocal keep going- it's recaptured here again... but then again, Patti is a heaven-sent phenomena I've loved since she recorded ". I Sold My Heart To The Junkman" God Bless you xoxo!

HAPPY 79th BIRTHYEAR belatedly (May 24, 2023) TO our INTERNATIONALLY OUTSTANDING GODMOTHER of SOUL, MISS PATTI LABELLE, who had a challenging birthday this year especially with the passing of Sister Rock Legend Tina on the exact same day! 😮 Nonetheless, despite the challenges of life that befall you & us each day, MISS MUSICAL DYNAMITE FASHION ICON PATTI LABELLE THANK YOU for INSPIRING us ALWAYS to WHOLISTICALLY ASPIRE for EXCELLENCE throughout LIFE'S JOURNEY!!!😢 We LOVE ❤U MAMA P!🎉
This is one of the top 2 television theme songs of all time -- the other is "Movin' On Up" for The Jeffersons! I know it seems like Patti did her own thing at the end, but clearly it was planned. Anthony did an awsome acting job with his facial expressions, but come on everyone, the ending is iconic, and Patti, at 75 years old, sang it perfectly and killed it! I could just watch this clip again and again and again.... I already have!
My dad was a Bishop in a pentecostal church. I started playing the piano and organ for him when I was 9 years old. My older brother and I used to fight like cats and dogs. One Sunday morning I started playing the theme to Good Times for the offertory music. My brother tattled and I got busted. THAT BIG MOUTH! ROFL
Anthony got upset that Patti ate up the ending but Mama Patti is consummate. If you’re going to sing with her prepare to be charcoaled, barbecued, fracashayed, and parboiled. She did her thing and that’s what she does. Period.
I see Aunty Patti’s name and I click cause I love me some Ms Patti Labelle. These younglings don’t know nothing bout the raw talent this lady poses. Btw I’m a youngling.🤭
As a young child growing up: THIS is what I heard: Just looking out of the window, watching the ASPHALT GROW, thinkin how you almost had me down. Good times, good times. Keeping your head above water, making a way while you can, temporary lays offs, good times, easy credit rip-offs, good times. SCRUNTING and surviving, good, times, ain't we lucky we got em? Good times. What DID YOU HEAR? LOL
Why does that end part when she hold that note and Anthony look at her remind me of Bobby and Whitney Mad TV Cribs when they was singing and Whitney I got all extra with note LOL LOL
Did he really think Patti would let him get that moment? 😂 I love Patti LaBelle so much I would love to meet her and just talk to her for a few hours over coffee and cake. She’s wonderful! ❤
