Hey Patty, wish I was in the kitchen at a young age, maybe I would of been a awesome singer as yourself!! I grew up in Philly on Plymouth St, I had the privilege of knowing, Stacy, Bill, Ron and Ron's (2) doberman pinchers. I can remember Cory when he was around 4 maybe 5 riding his Big wheel out front of your sisters house. One day when you pulled up on Plymouth S, I like so many were at awe. What a feeling. I try this recipe, but I changed the pepper flakes with white pepper powder because I couldn't eat too much spicy food (digestive problems, y'know). I also change jalapeño with Thai green peppers (it's less spicy than jalapeño) just a bit. And boy, how good it is! I never thought that I would eat veggies again, because I have phobias with them and I have O blood type so I need some proteins from meat. But because of her, I think I could eat them again. 😊 Thank you, Ms. Patti 😘

I must tell you I fell in love with cabbage after cooking this years ago when I saw this clip. I can’t stand overcooked, soggy cabbage. This recipe is the truth! Careful with those haberno peppers, I put two slices in and it tore up my mouth!

I tried this recipe, and it was amazing! My 98 year old grandmother started shuffling her feet when she ate my version of Pattie Labelle's cabbage shuffle. Go grandma, go grandma...lol!! Thank you so much Pattie, you are the greatest!!!

I made this today(7/11/13)..I didn't use the potatoes, cilantro or habanero peppers. I did use jalapeno, pepper flakes and cayenne. I also sliced up 2 cloves of garlic. I also made some bacon and crumbled it in there. I also put just a pinch of margarine in it. It was off the chain. You will love this just as I did. I made a head of cabbage plus 2/3 heads. Everyone should try it. Its not your normal cabbage delight. Its a secret cabbage treat and everyone wants me to make it now.
