MIKEY MELANIN MADE - I just looked at your picture - something is funny with it - especially the eyes! Is that you or are you trying to glamorize your eyes - looks like you already have on mascara. The picture actually looks touched! The soup coolers look pumped too!
Patti's beauty is striking! She looks like an African queen! I love her hair, make-up, jewelry & outfit. She's very sweet, mild mannered & well spoken. MANY female entertainers of today can really learn alot from her - she has always carried herself in a graceful, poised & professional way!!👏👏👏💃💃💃🎶🎶🎶
Patti has GORGEOUS EYES both of her Granddaughter’s were blessed with the same eyes 👁👁. If our eyes are truly the windows to our souls THEN THIS WOMAN SOUL IS STUNNING! I adore her! ❤️
Her hairstylist Miss Norma Harris Gordon, she's been with Miss Patti Labelle for decades, their friendship is genuine, and also her band, Miss Debbie Henry and Sir John Stanley. Ms. Patti is the coolest, most elegant, most powerful, most honest, timeless celebrity for me. And I believe she's a very down to earth person that's why people love her much.
I love Ms. Patti's speaking voice and her authentic OG Ms. Patti Labelle style😉👌🏿, her eyes are out of this world beautiful, I appreciate the camera person zooming in on them😍I love Ms. Patti Labelle🌷💕
Damn it, I love you Ms Patti!!! If ever I could meet her, I'd shake her hand, hug her & tell her how much I look up to her. What a gorgeous woman. Truly.
I love the fact that Patti LaBelle is using slang that the kids think they invented today. Even I didn't know Patti LaBelle was already there in the 80's lol
"If you give them a show, and if you really show them that your heart is in it, I don't think they'll read you tomorrow for filth if your drag was wrong." IN 1986! And then 15 year old children watching Drag Race think they invented the English language.
I totally agree! All the terms that she was using back in 1986 are terms that most people didn't even know about until after 2010. She truly was an innovator.
actually, Patti is no innovator. Take a look at the movie "Paris is Burning"...That's where all this "slang" really came from. that movie explains where words and phrases originated from. well, beyond this.
+FtmKai I have to disagree with you...some of the black gay male lexicon has been borrowed from black women too...I think it's a reciprocal relationship...we borrow from each other... :)
Her makeup is perfect for the time. It actually matches her skin tone.A lot of the times, you saw all these other black artists and actresses with lighter makeup on in the 80s and ended up looking like ghosts on the red carpet when the cameras would flash
Patti is LITERALLY BEAUTIFUL HER EYES ARE SO GRACIOUS LOOKING HER GRANDDAUGHTERS HAVE THE SAME EYES 💖👑👑💖💖👑👑👑💖👑👑💖👑💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖SHE WILL FOREVER BE LEGENDARY HER VOICE HAIR AND DRAG 💖💖AND STAGE PRESENCE UNMATCHED 💖💖STILL IN 2023 👑👑👑👑👑👑
Miss Patty has been known to get into angry confrontations with complete strangers and has even been sued by people who claim Patty attacked them for some reason.
Amazing. WHAT A GREAT INTERVIEW! I love what Miss Patti said - "I'm just happy that I'm able to buy as much hair as I need, to look any way I want, I swear to god. I can say thank god for the hair makers... my hair doesn't grow that fast. But I want you to know too that I'm not BALD." Thank you for uploading such a gem!
I actually think here and in the 80s she was at her peak look wise, and in terms of vocals too probably. Always thought she was an attractive woman, and here she looks great.
She’s such a Gemini. They can be talkative, vibrant and social but when they are nervous or something is bothering their anxiety they can be antsy in their movement, speech. She got more comfortable as the interview went along but something was bothering her on the inside I’m glad she made it through this interview. Love her.
miss La Belle, you are beautiful, honest, graceful and even when the report asked you leading questions about Elvis to get you to say something negative about Elvis you did not take the bait. Thank you for being you!
I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!! I JUST CANT GET ENOUGH OF HER. I LOVED THIS LOOK FOR HER IN THE 80S. I LOOOOOOVED THOSE WHITE NAILS. THATS ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE THINGS AESTHETICALLY ABOUT HER.
+Duck Before You Drown She wore the white nails before anyone else. She never received credit for being a trend setter. Come on...who the hell was giving us hair and nails and drag like Patricia back in the 80's, or even the 70's? No one!!
Diva I know Mrs. Labelle don't like to be call Diva but she got it going on she can and know how to dress she out dress these singers now and her hair... wow loveeeee it Peezley 💋
As patti got older the better her personality got. She didn't have much personality in her younger days..she looks shy and even kind of depressed in this video. Even though, she has beautiful eyes, I see sadness in her eyes
Her whole family died... There is so much sadness in her eyes, by this time all her sister except one and her dad was living, lost 2 sisters and her mom
Honestly I think 2 days before she sang If You Asked Me To her sister died so I think she is still recovering from the lose here the store goes her sister called saying she was craving one of Patti's famous egg sandwiches Patti put it off and I think she ended up dying the next day or day after that so the Song she did in James Bond she did was a tribute to her sister in the video she was really crying and the dress she wore to her funeral 2 days before and before I knew this story I always asked my dad why is she dressed like she is going to a funeral in this video and he looked at me and said I always wondered the same thing I think Bond came out the year before this I will look it up
XPL0RR the sad saga of diabetes is it's very cureable disorder that caused by malnutrition. With all the so called medical technology that there is the disease is on the rise. The medical establishment has damed us to a horrible existence in their so called treatments. You never look outside yourself for a cure to what ails you, because you will be disappointed with. The outcome. When the powers that be get involved in your healthcare it's about how much money we can make off this disease. Their is no rush to cure it. The longer they treat it and tell us theres no cure ,the more money they make, the more limbs they cut off, the more kidneys and hearts fail,, the more harse dialysis treatments can make billions and billions of dollars of dollars for the one percent. The fact is we are all slaves and we don't know it.
Yes it was an indifferent time during the late 70s early 80s she had to find her voice and re-invent herself. And her mother passed somewhere between 77-79', then her sisters shortly after. What I love about her is she always tried new things, different material (musically) and then BOOM that Beverly Hills Cop Soundtrack shot her into space!! She is definitely an icon!
Great interview and I enjoyed it, I'm a Patti LaBelle fan from the mid 80's. But I wish they had the host's mic leveled up the same as Patti's, I had to turn my speakers up higher than normal to hear the questions. Maybe it was kind of a rushed situation where they only had the one mic or whatever. But overall it was a great interview 💪🏾
Love me some patti.. I love how she pushed away the SEXY conversation and nipped it in the bud.. She's never been about all that. I am sure the interviewers bosses wanted her to ask Patti that question right off that bat. And what's up with zooming all in her face like that @13:50? 🙄 Love you Patti
Patti LaBelle, Was In A Different Girl Group From Diana Ross Group!! Patti LaBelle And The Bluebells Came Out Of Philadelphia!! But She Didn't Have The Power Like Diana Ross Had!! So What Ever Diana Ross Said And Did.. It's Goes.. Cindy Birdsong Was A Bluebell With Patti LaBelle, Before She Became A Supreme With Mary Wilson And Diane Ross In MoTown Records.
2:09 “We never got sexy. We never er wanted to look sexy either.” Focus on fashion not musicianship from female interviewer led my likely a male editor. 3:09. “Women weren’t that risqué” interviewer “Not even in Rock? Patti answers : “Not even in roll”. 10:25 Futuristic lure of being seen cuz we had something to say. Great sense of humor. My body is not like theirs 11:57 Individuality within collectivity 12:52 Hair as accessories 14:07 Labelle. Cyndi Lauper. Screaming Mimi’s . Whose look do you like? Sade. 16:09. Won’t read you for filth tomorrow cuz you drag was wrong 18:27 You’re a girl girl. What about men’s suits?
+Eddy6159 Will Smith often made references to Patti LaBelle's big voice in a few episodes of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" That is what T-Linksi is probably referring to up there.
