In this additional video, exclusive to the POV website, Patti Smith performs "Beneath the Southern Cross" at the Robert Miller Gallery in New York City on October 20, 2009. The song was written by Patti and Lenny Kaye, and Patti dedicates this performance to her friend, the poet Jim Carroll, who died in September.
