Stilgar was unintentionally the humor of the movie. His belief in Paul was both inspiring and humorous with how he would respond. "The Lisan al gaib is too humble to admit he is the One!"
Its rare that the 2nd movie in a trilogy tops the 1st but Dune 2 was absolutely a masterpiece. Dune Messiah has a lot to live up to, and I for one can't wait.
And Dennis, obviously fully capable of doing so, will need a lot of artistic license to really adapt Messiah into a compelling and fulfilling final chapter that doesn't depress the hell out of viewers and yet still stays true to the spirit of the source material. Will Paul be walking off into the desert at the end of Messiah? Will Part Three be three hours long on the dot? So many questions; really wish this whole project was greenlit right out of the gate for three films instead of two and they were already in production now for the final film.
@@RELM143 Messiah will happen, Denis may just need some time to rest. However, he has only a 70,000 word book known for its depressing nature to work with. A lot of book fans may get angry at what he produces. I have faith.
@@totalsubmitionI don’t know man. I’m the biggest LOTR Nerd I know. I’ve read everything. The Unfinished Tales, Silmirilion, The Children of Hurin etc. I’ve watched every video on RU-vid about the professors world. I re watch the movies yearly. But this Dune trilogy is shaping up to be just as good. A different kind of childlike awe cause by these movies.
"Many have remarked the speed with which Muad’Dib learned the necessities of Arrakis. The Bene Gesserit, of course, know the basis of this speed. For the others, we can say that Muad’Dib learned rapidly because his first training was in *how* to learn. And the first lesson of all was the basic trust that he could learn. It is shocking to find how many people do not believe they *can* learn, and how many more believe learning to be difficult. Muad’Dib knew that every experience *carries its lesson* ."
I was obsessed with Dune as a kid I use fear is the mind killer I will not fear in everything I do I am 57 years old and have just invented a new wastewater system and a way to control global flooding you can always learn until you leave here and instead of thinking ill do it right next time do it right this time you owe it to yourself to at least try.
I think Denis showed the period of time when Paul learned and grew as a leader expertly. We really saw him rise from a foreigner, to a friend, to a Prophet who the people will follow. Very natural. Unlike other films where the protagonist picks it up a little too quick.
@@elijahalbistontrue, in all fairness Paul had a legitimate mental cheat code to pull from once he consumed the water of life/being a mentat which gives him like a 200+IQ , so it makes sense he learns quickly from a lore perspective
Two things I want to point out: 1. I _love_ when it transitions from Feyd stabbing the guy to the thumper going down. That was genius. 2. “A animal caught in a trap will gnaw off its own leg to escape. What will you do?” This edit really shows that this whole story was one big gom jabbar. The whole time, Paul was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Did he drink the Water and become the Voice from the Outer World, a slave to the future leading millions to take billions of lives? Or should he refuse, leaving Feyd-Rautha to annihilate the Fremen sietch by sietch? Just like before, Paul cannot fight this. He has to keep his hand in the box-only this time, the torment will never end.
Not only that, but letting Feyd to become the Emperor? That would have been better? No. So it is actually as Paul says in pt.2: I will do what it must be done.
@@Sam80Fessentially in my opinion it wouldn’t be much different since they both would take many lives, this is partly why I find the story so interesting
@@elizabethbrooks8793 I find it very different. The Harkonnen are just monsters, while the Atreides are not and in the end they do save humanity. And that's also because of Paul. War isn't the true measure of right/wrong. The Allies did kill a lot of people during WWII, but that doesn't mean they were the same as the Nazis.
Liked Part 2 more than Part one but seeing this, in retrospect, these movies were better than I thought. Director Denis did an phenomenal job at capturing a visual literary epic. Because of this, more will read books. What a gift to the youth.
Agreed re-watching Part One shows how well-rounded these flicks really are. The sound editing and score work my Zimmer is just straight up addicting. I've seen Part Two twice already in theatres and can't wait to watch it again.
I first read the book 📖 when I was 16. I waited almost 30 years to watch my beloved Dune come to life on the big screen. Greatest ever movie brought to life by Master Denis🔥💖
BLESS THE EDITOR AND HIS WATER! BLESS THE AMAZING CUTTING AND SOUND MIXING OF HIM! MAY HIS EDIT AND TRIBUTE TO LISAN AL GAIB CLEANSE THE WORLD! MAY HE KEEP THIS EDIT FOR ALL HIS PEOPLE!
If you do decide to read the books, be aware that Frank Herbert's son Brian has written an insane amount of spin-off books that fundamentally miss the point of his fathers story.
So I was hoping for this as well... but Denis said that his deleted scenes are gone forever. No matter how hard they were to destroy. The only chance of getting them back is perhaps the Studio interfering or Denis changes his mind once he sees how many of us would love to watch an extended version.
Man o man from getting nightmares and saying a war on my name crumbling when saying in dune 1 to leading fremen saying lead them to the paradise at the end of dune 2 what a character arc man
In moments like that is good to stop and think how thankful we should be we are alive in times of great things happening. Prayers to all the people that live in places where they cannot enjoy peacueful life.
This is absolutely stunning, I am so incredibly impressed. You've literally captured the essence of the film--the drama, the heartbreak, the reignition, the foreboding--all in a five minute video.
The multiple goosebumps I had when I watched the part 2 in cinema. The scores had our seats vibrating/shaking and so am I. I’m so overwhelmed I had to stop myself from making any noise (in Japan making noises in cinema is considered Rude) but the gasps I made every revelations and unexpected scenes. Boy oh boy It’s so brilliant I’m speechless and I sat down throughout the credits till they turn on the light and the screen already black out.
"Long live the fighters", the explosion of an atomic bomb, the attack of worms, especially when a worm rises above the ground and then falls into the sand, there is a trembling along the ground, I felt it. Great movie!
@@Subird OMG YES! I almost stood up and screamed: “Adaam Reshii A-zaanta!” And “Lisan Al Gaib” 😭 the adrenaline kicked in not gonna lie. Yes I felt every beating of the drums, It’s so beautiful 🥹
@@tonyabraham7718 that's what it means in Arabic inspired language by frank herbert? " words of the unseen"?, I do know that the native language by fremen is majority loosely based of real earth Arabic/islamic but I'm not sure about its translation.
@@berlin6259 this movie is just entertainment purposes only, and it does not seem to match accurately from the books of frank Herbert, however based of the books, your right, frank Herbert took lots of inspiration from Shia and Sufi Islamic/Arabic influences.
dune 2 was incredible. i strongly hope that the future dune movies will live up to the same standard and not mess up the pacing and the whole track of the story. it really is a wonderful series and i love it.
Almost perfect. Just "the box" part should not be there. Should have link up Duncan talking about dreams and reality and the part when Paul was asked by the Reverend Mother to describe his dreams. Would have been perfectly perfect perfection 👌
I’m really looking forward to the release of excellent quality for Dune Part 2 and they will be waiting for new videos so that there will be moments from the movie Dune Part 2😊😊😊😊
Fun fact: Lisan al-Gheib(لِسانُ الْغِیْب), nearly translates to tongue of The hidden. Arabic nickname of one of the greatest Persian poets, Hafez. His spiritual-religious poets inspired goethe (the greatest and most influential writer in the German language) to write West-östlicher Divan. Al-Mahdi (ألْمَهْدِی) translates to the Guided. Nickname of a prominent figure in Islamic eschatology who is believed to appear at the End of Time to rid the world of evil and injustice. Twelvers believe in him as thier last infallible Imam, Mohammad al-Mahdi (a.j.).
A story can come from a man.. A man can become a legend A legend can become a god A god can become a religion. And millions will suffer & die in the process... Frank Herberts books have always been a cautionary tale against the dangers of following messianic leaders.. Power corrupts...always has and always will.
