Why is everything a zero-sum game? How are my rights as a heterosexual /cisgender woman in any way diminished by the rights given to transgender women? I just do not understand.

The issue is one side is making policies based on their opinions while the other side is just trying to exist.

My eyes were rolling too, I nearly fell over. Most of us straight cis women are not celebrating our hard won "rights" by trying to exclude sections of us. This "culture war" could be solved in a second if people would just mind their own fkn business.

Jan, I am a non binary trans fem person, what bathroom am I supposed to use? If I go into the men's I risk getting attacked, same if I go into the women's. The only bathroom I can feel safe going into is the disabled toilet but then I feel guilty because I am not disabled(not visibly anyway). Trans women have been using women's toilets for decades with no issues. If anyone is attacked it is the trans person or a cis gendered woman that doesn't look "women" enough. All this anti trans women hate hurts all women in the long run. Great, yes, women fought hard for their rights. Trans women want the same rights but they get attacked for fighting for said rights. You deny trans women rights and it will end up putting women's rights back a 100 years. Posy Parker is not a friend of women. Already, last week a bigoted man accused a 9 year old girl of being a boy at a track and field event. Biological woman. That is such a loaded term. By the way you transphobes can't tell a trans woman from a cis woman.

Pride is political by default. That's why it exist to create awareness about civil rights for people who don't have it in many countries.

If you're worried about predators being in women's spaces, you're worried about predators, not trans people

Wanted to add how the bathroom bans that are occurring here in the US have led to videos of cisgender women being harassed for “not looking female enough” there is literally a video that went viral of a woman who happens to wear more masculine presenting clothes and she was physically removed by police from a women’s restroom all while they shouted “sir” at her. To the second caller, where would you like trans men to go when it comes to using the restroom? Because if you had your way than trans men (for those who don’t know these are men who were assigned female at birth and transitioned to men) would be in the restroom with women and in trying to exclude trans women and to further marginalize us you will have succeeded in allowing men into women’s spaces. Make no mistake about it an attack on trans women and the trans community in general is an attack on all women

You cannot “both sides” this argument, first and foremost the rights of trans people to be able to exist safely is not a debate. The facts bare out that there are no widespread instances of trans people committing any crimes in restrooms, and to Kaite’s point Pride was a protest and you cannot cede ground to these bigots who are actively trying to erase our existence. I’m in the US where over 500 anti trans bills exist, and sadly I live in FL where after 40 years of being here I no longer feel safe. To say this is a debate is to act as if trans people should not have basic human rights and instead we should give credence to whatever nonsense the right wing throws to justify their bigotry

Odd, I had "men are tough guys and super heroes" shoved down my throat through the 80's as a child and never got as pearl clutchy as those with the caller's view. Do people forget that we always have something being shoved down our throats from various media (TV, films, news, radio, societal norms) so why the issue on this one section? Is that just confirmation of a bigotry? (I'm sure we all have some form of bigotry in our opinions, aware or not).

What the lady fails to think about is that trans women on hormones have very little male hormones left and are not sexually driven. Most trans women happily use disabled toilets and don't want to make a fuss.

I was in M&S toilets (womens) the other day and there was and there was a male janitor in there wiping down the sinks… nobody cared, he was just in there doing his business not bothering anyone. If men wanted to get into the womens toilets couldn’t they dress as a janitor?

How many romantic subplots have been in movies between a male and female couple? How many times when there is a family in a show or movie is there a male and female head of the family. People like him just don't seem to realize that this happens. To be clear, I'm cis, I don't have a dog in this fight but even I can see that argument is BS. Caller 2: "women feeling safe in women only spaces" well, lets be completely honest here, being a predator isn't exclusive to males, is it? If you don't know the woman in the bathroom, how do you know you are safe? Do you do a genital check when you go into the bathroom and there are other people in there? Or do you just go into the stall, do your business, wash your hands and leave like most normal people. Also, women can also be child snatchers, in fact, most baby snatchers turn out to be women.

Is weird that a conversation that only talks about 0.5% is everywhere in the media at the moment especially when in the UK things like mental health and knife crime get very little air time in comparison .

I think there should be a maximum age for people who are allowed to phone in to these kind of shows because its often really confused and frightened old men who just stay indoors and have the mail delivered to them.
