I only listen to songs from the 60's to 90's not only because they remind me of when I was young, but the music is actually music with talented artists. ❤
I am 57 yrs old and sometimes I think I get too wrapped up in the music from the 70's and 80's that it is unhealthy. These songs just bring back so many wonderful memories that it puts me in a sad place that I know I shouldn't be. I adore this song and many others from the era that just bring back wonderful times that will never happen again. It is said often in these threads but if I had a time machine I would go back.
Its OK. I'm 65. These are the songs of my youth. Its bittersweet. Getting old is tough....normal, but we are wiser now and may wish we'd been so back then. It's the circle of life. Enjoy the music!!!😊❤
We had MUSIC back then that today's so called music cannot compare too. I am so happy I grew up back then because YES the memories are great and life was great back then.
Man, these days are never going to be repeated again. This music is so good and so smooth. I am glad to have grown up in this generation. Wonderful to hear it again.
'Smooth', I never thought of it that way but that sums it up well in just one word. A lot of the music of the 70s flowed, it was smooth, it was like riding a wave, evoked emotion and it took you somewhere.
I know it's a generational thing, but the song writing and music from the 70s and 80s is truly the most memorable! It came with real emotion, and provoked real emotion in the listener.
Paul Davis passed away fifteen years ago today, 4/22/2008 ! RIP Paul, and thank you for the memories. You are not forgotten ! Who else out there didn't forget him ?
Too sad for me personally. Yes, it's very moving, but it's a very sad melody about seeing someone you love and spent years with, but you can never be with them again - ever. Yes, you go crazy inside but not in a good way. The song makes me depressed, as do many of the late 70s songs like this. I much prefer the more upbeat songs from the 60s and early 70s as well as 1980s New Wave. Stuff that doesn't make me depressed when I listen to it. Just my 2 cents
I’m 61 & for some reason I’m listening to all these beautiful songs that are bringing back so many emotions & memories…The tears are just coming down non stop!!! 😢😭
i understand im 62 and rode in in bus with andrea the giant i was a lightweight boxer in texas.full of anxiety cause i had to fight the lightweight champ of texas.i got my noze busted in 4th round i whent down i gave up.i look back and think if i woulda just fought harder to late i didnt
This is exactly why musical angels like Paul are sent to earth . to help us open our hearts soften the edges , and realize that we are not the only ones who felt like this
I believe that music like this is timeless ❤️ and it should be shared... the current generation will have these emotions but, I doubt that new composers will be able to express these emotions.
I’m a 58 year old woman- have loved this song since my teens. Haunting lyrics and beautiful song of a love lost and regret. SO deeply relatable- if you’ve ever experienced this in your life. It brings me to tears every time I hear it! Talented musicians and singers. Timeless classic- Thank you!
My boyfriend would play this song every morning while we showered and got ready for the day.. he passed away Thanksgiving Day 2021. I’ve struggled. Then this video started playing while I was watching “reels”. I know he’s still here with me. 💔. Until we meet again MJS!
THIS IS A MASTERPIECE!!! WHAT AN AMAZING GIFT GOD GAVE HIM , HE'S BRILLIANT!!! I WAS 12 YEARS OLD WHEN I HEARD THIS AND NOW I'M 52 AND I STILL LOVE THIS I ALWAYS LOVED THIS SONG REMINDS ME WHEN LIFE WAS SIMPLE AND IT'S JUST BEAUTIFUL. 💜💜💜
It's so true.... I was 12 in 1977 and in the 7th grade. I was in love with this girl "Stacey" in Junior High. I played this song over and over.... The 70's were the best times in my life; I loved being a kid then :-)
TheJazzyjeff333 Hey, Jeff, I was 12 and in 7th grade too. When I Go Crazy played on the local radio station, I kept listening before and after to get the name of the singer so I could spend 99 cents to buy the 45 record. Well, nimrod that I was, I kept hearing the DJ's name from the station and thought it was the singer's name. Couldn't find it...Finally, after several weeks, Paul Davis's name was mentioned. I think I still have the 45. :)
Oh yes the eyes of your love are something that you do in fact get a type of crazy as it should be there is a very enjoyable experience for the person who is got those eyes close and if you have never looked into your loves eyes and jjust get lost in a very deep way .You want to be in a couch or whatever it is that you are relaxed and facing each other. I have done this for long periods of time usually after we have went crazy so we are not as evicted. You may find this to be almost hypnotic or trance inducing, That is the goal it takes a good relaxing effort and the way you can loose yourself in the eyes of your love is very calming and uplifting. You may experience deep relaxation and as you both cherish the silent time to be close to each other in a new way. If you get lost in the eyes of your love you will feel as if your using a ability to look at the eyes or at this point I will call it gazing into the window of the soul and I hope your into all that. If not you may be if you can take it to the point where your eyes loose some focus and you will know what I'm talking about normally one will notice something and say that they just hit a mild cognitive impairment of the eyes and they will be anxious to get back to it. Don't give up on it. If you are calm and patient people, you should enjoy this if your not already doing it. It will become as important as other valued alone time.
If you ever feel sick this type of music will soothe your soul!! It always makes me feel better, I'm a woman veteran and suffer Parkinson's and PTSD and I'm telling you it's like going back in time when everything in this messed up society was right, blessings to each of you and keep on trucking and rocking ❤❤❤❤
God bless! Thank you for your service. I'm sorry you are going through so much in your life. This music is good for the soul. Lyrics meant something. The musicians were true artists in their craft. It was an innocent time... After Vietnam and before all the strife and confusion of the 90's and beyond. I wish you the best of luck in your life and freedom from pain in your illnesses. Take care
Thank you for your service 🙏 bless you and I just said a lil prayer that you'll be cured 100% Believe in miracles, they happen every day. It's your time to receive Pay it forward
I had the honor of meeting Paul in Nashville in 1987. I was nobody but he took the time to talk to me for about 15 minutes. What a warm, humble and friendly man! He spoke with a soft, down home southern accent but sang like this, Wow! Paul, I will go on enjoying listening to you sing as long as I live. RIP brother, until I see you again.
My neighbor use to play this song along with Glen Campbell and Andy Williams music every Saturday evening when I was 8 or 9 years old ...I'm 61 and still act the fool to 65' Love Affair... rip Paul from Trinidad,W.I.
There are still people singing positive folk songs out there. You just have to seek them out. And yeah I grew up in the 70's... musically it was a great time. :)
I dated a sweet girl from my hometown of Michigan City, Indiana back in the summer of 1983. She had the most beautiful green eyes. When I think back, I still go crazy✨. Beautiful song Paul Davis.🙏 KGS🇺🇸
married the most loving girl god has ever put on this Earth, she was 16 I was 17. Lost her at 46 yrs. old. 30 yrs. non-stop love making. Cry every time I hear this.. God bless you Linda.....
Man dude..I cried inside- I lost my son and any old song like this stirs things in my heart..may Linda - which means Beautiful in Spanish - Rest In Paradise..sorry for your lost my friend
What a voice Paul Davis has. Man I love this song... Never gets old, even after all these years. Never to be duplicated, the magic of these old tunes. Gifts from heaven. How do they come up with these melodies?
Every song is a story & it's probably a story of a girl that Paul had at one time, but like I said every song has a story of pain guilt passion love hurt etc etc, but it was a beautiful song yes. R.I.P. PAUL YOU ARE TRULY MISSED.
We talk about the 70's and 80's music. And that was a great time to live and grow up .But let's not forget the 50's and 60's. That's when it came together. I'm 73 and how I miss those days.
I grew up in the 60’s. Love the music and how it can take you back in the blink of an eye. I am a baby boomer husband passed away and it is me and Molly my German Shepherd. So thankful for the music!!!
Jason Richer Thanx Jason, This will always be in my heart, along with the most unbelievable girl God ever put on this Earth. The tears will always be with me when I hear this, as God took her way to soon.
The older I get the more I appreciate the music of the 60s and 70s and thank my parents for showing me what good music is. It's sad what is considered music these days!
Hello girl it's been awhile Guess you'll be glad to know That I've learned how to laugh and smile Getting over you was slow They say old lovers can be good friends But I never thought I'd really see you, I'd really see you again I go crazy When I look in your eyes I still go crazy No my heart just can't hide that old feelin' inside Way deep down inside Oh baby, you know when I look in your eyes I go crazy You say he satisfies your mind Tells you all of his dreams I know how much that means to you I realize that I was blind Just when I thought I was over you I see your face and it just ain't true No it just ain't true I go crazy When I look in your eyes I still go crazy That old flame comes alive, it starts burning inside Way deep down inside Oh baby, you know when I look in your eyes I go crazy Oooh, Oh Oooh, Oh I go crazy You know when I look in your eyes I go crazy No my heart just can't hide that old feelin' inside Way deep down inside I go crazy
Something about this guy... he sings deep from the heart. Songs that make me teary-eyed. Just beautiful. Fighting the tears now. Songs like this are not written and sung anymore.
Anthony B I don't even try to stop the tears anymore when I hear this. Those " beaux yeux' " ( beautiful eyes). I might be French. but my heart never has a problem translating this, and it never will.
Oh, goodness! I have shed buckets of tears to this song! Beautiful lyrics and voice. I love this song even though it still makes me want to cry my eyes out. Takes me back……
Man, he sure didn't look like the voice behind the music but that's the magic of humanity. Sometimes people don't look anything like you imagine they will from their voice. This has always been one of the top songs I've remembered all through my life. I'm well on my way to being an old man now but I remember when Paul came out with this tune and it's one of those songs that has stood the test of time. It's been a strange ride - take care of yourselves :)
I was thinking the same thing. It was confusing at first. The voice didnt match the image.. that being said, this is a song i learned while at work and loved it
I had the pleasure of playing golf with Paul several times in the early '80s when he lived at Willow Springs Country Club in Alpharetta, GA. He was a very gentle guy, humble, and a warm personality........never forgot those times or his music. Died way too young.
i thank you tube for allowing us to view videos that we never had the opportunity before, all those great songs we visualized for years can now be easily viewed and recreate memories, thanks yo tube
I don't know how to Express my feelings when I can hear this beautiful and memorable music. It is a great gift for me and all the people who have the opportunity for enjoying the wonders of this music.
I use to just lay in bed listening to the music back in the 70s and 80s. It would bring warm emotional feelings about the things i done that day. I would listen till I fell asleep. I no longer listen to music at night. It just isn't the same. I miss that 😢.
+sends2aaron "Were you trying to get away with a insult here 💩+sends2aaron? Where has mind been too? there must be a lot of 👉🏻👉👉🏽 millennials kiddos that gave you such a influence to be subjected like that. All I know is that grown adults with families not behave like that. 😤 #NotofthisWorld #believeroftheholyspiritofglobalawarenessandcosmicconsciness #witnessoftheandcleasingrestorationpowerfromlearningofgod'sredemptionforthroughhiswordthebible.
Yea I hear you but the break down of family started in the 70s and got alot worse Thank God I was just on the surface of it I was 8 years old when this was played and I loved it then...I was also spanked when I did wrong and paraded when I did right. But now that is being lost no accountability in our government or anything else God forbid Lord help us before its too late!!!
I am 57, almost 58yrs. Young. And I STILL GO CRAZY, when I hear these older songs!! Aww the days of youth! I am still very young. Just not like that!! Yay!! This is a gooone for sure!
Paul Davis looked like biker, but he had a beautiful voice and romantic songs. My sis and me loved him growing up and his "Sweet Life" song. I was sad to hear of his passing a few years ago. God Bless you Paul..
juie anderson I love this song also, Rick Nelson was so handsome also, I saw Rick's sons doing a tribute show for him a few years ago. I wish I could time travel to the 70s.
I love it too! Soulful ballad.SAD but beautiful. Yes, I think he looks fine, and looks do not actually determine my affection for recording artists. Robin Gibb -- my favorite! Maybe 1976 after Nixon left and boys came home from Viet Nam. Before that, Nah.. I was looking at this today and wondering if I should post it. Great minds think alike!
juie anderson I agree I think Paul Davis was cute also just like Robin Gibb they have their own look, but not perfectly handsome like Barry. I always thought Robin had beautiful sad eyes and his voice is so romantic! I think I would travel to the late 60's and see Monterey PoP with Janis Joplin, Otis Redding and Jimi Hendrix maybe see the Bee Gees somewhere and run away with Robin Haha!
Paul was slicker than snot on a baby's nose. The consummate professional artist. He did the simple things with music that meant so much..., always chose the right musicians and background singers. The lyrics on every track were riddled with smooth genuine candor and the tone and melody evoked emotions from anybody willing to listen. What an addition to heaven's choir!!!
Aundra Barber Yes....you are right.....Love this. Soothing to the ears! They don't make music like this no more...everyone back then were real...looked real....no fashion statement like today.
Pure talent without autotune, I honestly miss the 70's big time. I was born in 1960 and keep getting drawn back to this era and the hard rock era all the time. To me it was just a great time to grow up. The music now only has a choice few talented artists and groups but it seems like there isn't the same amount as when I grew up.
Rest In Peace to Mr. Paul Davis.....A True Musician who made BEAUTIFUL music ....he was a Beautiful Soul. His song, " I go Crazy " is one of my favorites from him...God Bless..
I was born in 1959. We grew up in a very special time, and our music takes us back. So many of us are gone from those days but we still have the songs and the memories. 🎶 🎵 🎸
You tried to sell it, but we can't buy that. Your opinion ie respected, I agree we all want this to be best song ever but there are others out there with same passion an talent we must respectfully consider
I know this is strange, but this song brings back so many emotions and feelings. I was in junior high when this song was popular (1977) and I remember laying in my room, listening to my little 9v transistor radio, and day-dreaming about this girl I had a crush on. Oh the pains of the heart in our youth. Love the nostalgia this song brings.
It's a shame turning 60 one day with plans of making a comeback and plenty of material to do it with then dieing the next. A great talent with timeless songs so deeply missed and remembered.
