💪💪👍👍👍Paul the only ex minister has the gut to speak up and the truths about China and Australia. Paul is colourful and brilliant leader that make us comfortable as Australian
Paul is the true Australian and statesman I very much admire, Paul is a brilliant man who can speak up the truths, and can set up the good and right direction of Australian foreign policies. 👍👍👍👍😊🥰🥰🥰
Daryl B Because he came through a period where the quality of politicians were supreme. He was taught the skill of leading for the benefit of the people. A true leader unlike Howard. Howard does not even come to his shoe straps. He only lost because the people of our time wanted change and thought it would get better. The conservatives only know how to give monies to gain your vote. Keating believes in real development and long term success. It’s too our demise, for loosing Keating too early. Another two or three terms as prime minister we would’ve seen a better and richer Australia.
@@clubberlang589 Howard was suppose to lift the superannuation from 9% to 12% but never did and now we have the Libnats wanting to let people just have their super so they can spend it . I think Keating's original idea was it would increase to 15% eventually , but then Howard and the GFC and now we have the biggest do nothings this country has ever seen . Six years no energy policy to support renewable's and a ruined NBN . Both would have created jobs in rural areas and farmers a second income from making power. $8000 dollars per windmill a farmer can make by just having them placed on their property . It would seem the Conservatives like the farmers coming to them for handouts so they can buy their vote.
Australian News you hit the nail on the head. I call the conservatives the self righteous party. See they’re right of politics which means they think they’ve got the right to do what ever they want and then point the fingers at the progressives
Well done Paul, brilliant statesman! How many do we have men like Paul Keating in Australia ? We need people like Paul to lead good and strong Australia towards 21st centuries 👍👍🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰💕💪💪💪
There's a lot to like about that man (Keating). Australian politics is in terrible shape, which has led to many like myself becoming disenchanted with the current bunch of nitwits.
it wont happen before the world govt is installed....malcolm turnbullls assignment was to use his popularity to hijack the so called republic referendum....we never got near the referendum because Bob Brown introduced the idea of the plebiscite...anyway...noone will vote for a model that gives the power of the politions to select a presaident who is no more then a rubber stamp...good job malcolm...the lock has turned and next move is NWO
Ben Sanderson : Because if he remained in office in Australia during the referendum of 2001. It would’ve been proposed in such a way that would’ve made it appealing to accept and embrace. But when you’ve got Menzies protege’s such as Howard and Abbot; who managed to loose there federal seats by the way. Did what they could to impose self righteous view onto Australians. The conservatives are only good at pointing out the negatives of an idea. Because they hate change and embrace a change that would make a positive. We are know still subject to the Royals of Windsor. That part of our taxes and wealth goes to them. I believe to this day our electoral system is manipulated, that he was expected to lose either way.
@@mikedemike5393 Turn-coat was a successful Goldman Sachs investment banker partner. The rotten fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. His job was meant to be to further subvert Australia through Globalist policy. He wasn't well liked, let's put it that way, and replaced by Scotty From Marketing who's essentially Turd-bull Lite.
Keating, Australias most authentic, knowledgeable, and courageous leader, who didn't bend over a barrel for US foreign policy. A leader like him is what we need to navigate these current waters independently more than ever.
The problem with globalisation that is never spoken about is the process of globalisation was a distribution of wealth and work from rich nations to poor nations. But as you distribute wealth and work from rich nations you transfer poverty from and work from poor nations to rich nations. Hence the rise in unemployment and de-industrialisation in western countries, and the rise in poverty in western countries.
@@jimhaut480 Didn't Howard do all you mentioned? He sold Qantas , Telstra I mean you name it. Howard destroyed unions. I feel it would have been better for us middle class with Keating but who knows. I posted that a year ago so much happened in the meantime.
@@nnnnevermindddd Exactly, Australia was in such a good position to create a brand new Australia at that time! Wasted! I still couldn't believe Mr Keating only was in the office for one term! Sorry, I wasn't in Australia during the early 90s.
" we have to be clever "....we dont need a massive population but unless we invest heavily in artificial intelligence and sophisticated development of our resources to the manufacturing stage we will be left behind begging the asians to buy our bananas....look how thats going with the chinese two years after this conversation. In actuality australia could become a very powerful country.
Whilst I don't agree with everything he did as Treasurer and PM, tariff reduction et al, thereby creating an economic over reliance on the health, education, tourism and construction sectors, I admired him for his ability to speak his mind. That is by not being overtly swayed by public opinion and jingoism.
@heath gallagher I have come to think that back in 1972 when the United Arab Emirates became fully independent of Britain things were bound to change because of the magic word OIL. Not that there is oil everywhere in the middle east. There were tariff cuts during Whitlam's time too. On top of that you had the oil shock of 1973 followed by a credit squeeze in 1974. The system with the exchange rate prior to December 9 1983 where the value of the dollar was set by the Treasurer, Governor of the RBA and the Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet was only introduced in 1976. There was reform towards what is current in Australia today undertaken in the Whitlam and Fraser period, only not as drastic or as fast paced as it was during the Hawke-Keating era.
Good on you, Mr Keating. I have known since the late 1980s that your vision of Australia’s role in Asia is appropriate all the way, and the microeconomic reforms for Australia in the 1980s and 1990s were the right policies for making a more competitive and more productive Australia of today. May God continue to bless us all, Amen.
This is heights , do you still think that your AI guys is in the capacity to stop me from the work which my Lord wants me do then its the biggest mistake ever . The UN is deliberately delaying the meeting process as they are aware that I am running out of resources as all my means of communication is being blocked in Australia and till date not even have contacted me once via phone or in person it shows the games everyone is playing to burry this matter . I clearly sate that I am happy to work with you all to help achieve the solution we all seek preserving what we have and save the world from ineveitable distruction . You have no right to decide the future of human slavery in any way shape or form . I hope the message is clear and you will be acting responsibly from hear on . Jesus blessings

It is so good to hear a real statesman, someone akin to JFK, speak, his wise words making such a contrast with those of the current Australian Government leadership. Keating is our only ex PM who has soomething really worthwhile to contribute to today's debate or lack thereof. While I don't agree that the sell of our Commonwealth bank and Telstra was a good idea as it was the beginning of the end of the age of egalitarianism, I do greatly regret the lack of anyone in Government at this time with the intellectual prowess of Paul Keating, who makes subtle distinctions between the role of the US in the modern world versus the world of USA hegemony, that are completely lost on those who are fixated on the USA IC's view of the world which has proven to be wrong so often in the last 30 years or so.
Was oy one of 2 Treasurers ever to win the prestige euro money magazines Treasurer of the year other one being Wayne Swan! LNP have never had a Treasurer win it??
it is terrible that after Paul Keatings talk within this debate, this leader of this Panel, actually gives no reality of what ever Paul Keating was talking about...so ,,what in reality. (with this panel) why was Paul Keating brought into this Panel..in first place,, in Reality what , Paul Keating had to say , had way More Importance than any thing regard this Panel...
At the Cairo meeting at the Conclusion of the 2nd WORLD WAR, Generalisimo, Chang Kai Shek demanded that Japan should give Up all Territories it had Conquered ! 👍👍👍
if Albo has 1/4 of Keating's wisdom. he wouldn't took sub deal. it is also a bad idea have US army in our soil. once they get in, too hard to get rid of.
With the evil forces he was up against he did all he could to create a better world for low & middle income working class people & saw decades into the furure with worker rights, worker safety, longevity, super annuation, pensions, penalty rates & focus on family income & quality of life with work life balance & taxing the wealthy & big business to pay for the nations debts & boosted economy to the point that under his leadership Australia was the booming land of milk & honey, so that ignorant pitiful people like you born in your silver spoon crasle can still enjoy & inherit some of those old riches he set in stone a long time ago. What did you do today? Long live Paul Keating.
@@jackbrady9738 Read the Constitution lately ? Know "WHAT" the (Australia Act) is ? Hawke & Keating Trashed our Constitution, & sold our national bank, to Rottenchilds ! On the issue of human rights, it seems like Keating is referring more to Deng Xiaoping's economic legacy, ie. to get 600 million Chinese people out of povery. I wonder if he feels as optimistic about the current Chinese leader
if you udnerstand China history then you understand why it had to be an autocratic central government .. in it is history warring states, the romance of 3 kingdoms , Mongguls broke China , every one want to rule the world as they say ..people suffered for hundreds of years , when things are looking up ..Japan and Western tore it up again .... that is why China is what it is today, it centrally managed and raised 800M people out of poverty and now strengthen its military so that it will never be bullied into submission again. Australia and America is China's friend. But the recent actions by the US is casuing China to rethink this friendship ...the US leadership fear that they cannot control China , now choose to contain it and even try to create conflict with it
Paul is so eloquent as usual. But four years down the track, Australia has chosen to toe the USA's line TOTALLY to the point of creating a toxic environment when it comes to discussing China. It does appear that Paul seems to understand the Chinese thinking well, and the ability to carve a future within its Asian neighbours as our neighbours grow richer and change the geopolitical landscape. Let's see how we progress and whether the wise words of Keating will come back to haunt us and what we did recently AUKUS and all.
Mr. Keating instead of a comment, I would like to make a statement: At my mind, I was, and still, I am, The Labour man, however, I've been treated very shabbily by the section of The Australian Maritime Union, because I dare to speak my mind on the behaviour of some members of the mentioned Union, for example, I objected to the throwing out chocolate bars overboard because Agent did not provide The Marrsbrars, as well as, I did not allow to use Satelite Communication for free, it was expensive at the time, and it went from bad to worst, six security guards attacked me, two drag my children away, and four did me once over, braking the rib on the left side of my body, the nightmare continued, I was thrown to the city watchhouse and interviewed by drank Solicitor, who refused to give his name or business card, then thrown to The Royal Brisbane Hospital examined on my right side of the body and after Dr. Phsiciatrist send to mental Clinic, the story is much longer, but what I am trying to say is, that I can forgive all that, but never forget. And the only thing I DEMAND! from The Australian Authorities is not the compensation at all, but my Old Aged Pension, and the money stolen by AMP, my private contribution, and sorting out problem with my Citizenship. Thank You. I deserve some dignity after more than thirty years in this beautiful country of Yours.
It's a shame the present political structure is a wash with mundane issues rather than seeing the big picture of future poverty with the global demand of resources that cannot be sustainable into the future with the global population boom and the room to sustain the future generations with economical freedoms
The wisdom and foresight and vintage Paul's jabbing.👍 We are now in dire need of quality politicians and policy makers. Otherwise God bless us with a messy future.
You kinda want a long format conversational podcast with joe rogan. Flesh out a piece of work rather than a more strict question and answer. Totally changing the way convos go. still good though
