Can we go back to the days when politicians were intelligent, eloquent, and focused on using facts to call out hobgoblins and non-sensical corporate-speak?
0:29 from the hilarious "Skyrockets in politics" analogy through to "empty , bellicose speech" (in his take down of Hewson''s speech just before his) is such a great example of the oral mastery and sharp wit Keating possessed through this period which made him such an absolute wrecking ball in Parliament. He was in his killer prime, top of his game. during the late 80s/early 90s ( imo)... We are so lucky this footage remains and is available to many of us to be as inspired ( as he was by the likes of Jack Lang) to hopefully do even a fraction of the great things he did for our country
They need to bring Keating out of retirement to have any chance at the next federal election, Albo is a lame duck, no guts, no sound policies. Paul would give ScoMo a run for his moeny.
John Hewson reminds me of Kenny in South Park no matter how many times PK kills him with political savvy and larrikins humour (another working class intelligent humour) Kenny just doesn't get it. Happy New Year Paul.
I'm an unashamed admirer of Paul Keating BUT look at 13:57. Are your elected representatives (sic) so busy trying to better our lives that they can't attend a parliamentary session? Just a guess but only 25 parliamentary officials at most. So, so disappointing.
@@butterbread858 Oh I see. So the electorate they claim to represent don't warrant representation. Wow, good gig if you can get it. Do they have to change their underpants as well if it's a MPI or doesn't it warrant it?
