Paul, you are my hero, this is such a true and beautiful song.i am 56 and have listened to your music since the early eighties, and you just get better. Thanks
It's so simple, but that makes it so simply beautiful.. It touched me in every place I'm happy to be touched. (No sexual puns intended)! But I keep. Coming back to this to be touched again (no seriously this isn't sexual at all)
A great song. It sounds so pretty that I've found people who had no idea what lies at the heart of it. It's a wonderfully wistful plea for impossible redemption.
no one sings paul kelly's songs better than paul kelly ...tho' tex came close ... yes he is a national treasure if there is such a thing.. tho he would find that label tiresome ... just look at what he has overcome in his life ... yet he still retains compassion and empathy for people both black and white a true master of his craft he sings from the heart
I think Paul is the total master he is awesome and amazing it takes pure genius to capture life situations with such simple complexity he has so many layers how ever when I listened to missy higgins version of this great song I truly felt he wrote this song for her to sing it just sayin .......
I have the Catherine Britt version of this great song and out of the approx.15,000 songs I own the Cath Britt version is my top notch fav. She sings it with so much emotion it is incredible. It would be my one desert island song!
I would argue this is a feeling we'd all rather avoid, but I guess that goes hand in hand with the "Tis better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all." quote.
@@JohnnyCab402 sorrow, hurt, heartbreak, whatever it is, is just as important as love, happiness and blight. Live and love it all my man. I do get where you're coming from tho. But chin up, and big smile :)
