Paul once said that George did a beautiful guitar introduction that gave the song a special sound. Yes indeed and this version sounds great too! Thanks.
Wow. Absolutely agree that this is not only one of the Beatles' greatest songs, but one of the prettiest love songs of all time. BUT, I think this version lacks all of the original's integrity and feeling
This is like his version of Cherish for me. Breathtakingly beautiful sounds that I can’t stop listening to. Every day I play my guitar now and dream of even approaching to make sounds like this. I’m literally spellbound. I’m only sad because I just discovered this a few days ago.
This slowed down version is beautiful, much more feeling. Great blend of voices and I love McCartney singing harmony the harmony. Nobody does is better.
Love the way that Paul sings the harmony vocal on this like a lead. It's a unique take on the song, yet it retains all of the flavor of the original, including the legendary Harrison-created riff. McCartney's Unplugged appearance was one of the best; Clapton was deservedly recognized, but Macca's Unplugged crushed Claptons IMHO.
I loved both. I think Clapton did amazing covers from other artists, and Paul did the best covers of his own songs, for example this one, She's a Woman, Every Night, etc. Both are great but Clapton's is more iconic because it revived his career, meanwhile Paul didn't a live album to be on the news again
That lovely high harmony, that is quite forward, and that you identify as the lead voice here is Hamish Stuart [on bass, ex Average White band] though, not Paul McCartney. Macca is singing the tune as usual
I like the duet harmony, a nice variation on the original and the guitar playing is more sophisticated. It's also cool to think that Paul McCartney wrote this song probably when he was just 22 years old and in this clip he's in his 50s, updating it to a more mature age while still being faithful to the original.
@@birdman4274 Yes, and I always felt they used the B7 so often because of the arduous journey it took to hunt it down. And it is a truly magical chord, used by many, many artists since that time. This is like my favorite Beatles story.
@@charlie-obrien I don't know if you play guitar Charlie, but B7 is quite an easy chord to play. I think these chord shapes stemmed from the Classical Guitar era but I don't think books giving chord shapes were around much then and classical is sheet notation not chord shape tabs. And I don't think Paul or John could read sheet notation. That's my thinking anyway.
This is just so awesome! Love the vocal harmonies. The guitars are so clear. A different take on the original but also so faithful to it. Just love it.
Beatles, curti muito na época.. Gosto muito, escuto ainda hoje.. Tudo que é bom, guardamos pra sempre, eternamente em nossas lembranças.👌🫶👍😉 adoro, saudades eternas.👍🤩👏👏
Bright are the stars that shine, Dark is the sky,I know this love of mine will never die and I love her... A romantic way to sing this song and quite a good performance.
On this day in 1991 {January 25th} Paul McCartney performed "And I Love Her" on the MTV's program 'Unplugged'... And exactly 26 years and 6 months earlier on July 25th, 1964 the Beatles' version of the song entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #12 and spent 9 weeks on the Top 100... The record's B-side also charted, "If I Fell", it reached #53 and also stayed on the Top 100 for 9 weeks... Both were featured in 1964's 'A Hard Day's Night" R.I.P. John and George...
In '90 I waited in line 4 hours in the freezing rain for tickets to see him, but they sold out. Ended up buying 2 tickets from a scalper for $200 apiece. I was young and didn’t have much, but it was the best money I ever spent.
Now that's a true Beatles fan. I am sure Paul and Ringo would love you too if he ever read your message. I would do the same thing 'cause to see them I would queue for a month. I want to write a piece of music and send it to Paul to just have him or Ringo listen to it. Truth is I can write music if I am in my zone of music but Paul's abilities as a songwriter are so much more beautiful than mine. Even his average songs were better than anything I can approach. Paul's best melodies like Martha My Dear, Yesterday, Here There And Everywhere and Penny Lane plus 50 more are just so wonderful. Today's popular music has become more sophisticated in the production side of things but these aspects or facets are learnable from music schools or great teachers. You cannot learn to write beautiful melodies for the greater extent. Some people just have a natural ability for gorgeous melody and this part of the creation is very, very rare indeed. If you listen to Mozart from his childhood prodigy..he anchored after pretty melodies even as a child not yet able to see the keyboard whilst standing and then the speed of his advancement was staggering. The rate of development as a band for the Beatles was also paced liked this. It always surprises me to hear how these melodies came about so quickly that they were scribbled out onto scraps of paper like I Want To Hold Your Hand for instance. If the melodied were developed over long periods then they wouldn't be on the back of a beer mats ect...Yesterday came in a dream as we all know which is amazing because I too have dreamed up melodies but they evaporate within seconds once the world fills my senses. Long winded but I do know in my lifetime I will never witness such greatness ever again. Wondering how much the original ticket price was..? Not that it matters one jott:)
I liked the video right after Paul said "This is an old Beatles song called "And I Luv Uh"" I just knew I was gonna like it no matter if he changed it up from the original a bit lol
i disliked this version quite a bit. This version sounds like Adult Contemporary music. I was expecting Kenny G to pop out for a solo. ;) Still, gotta love Paul.
I am a Beatles' fan and the very first time I heard this version I just thought was marvelous!!!! it makes me love my wife so much, that I want to cry everytime I listen this song. We love you Paul, you are great!
Obrigado, amo essa canção... traz lágrimas aos meus olhos, mas me cura ao mesmo tempo. (in portuguese Brazil) Thanks, love this song ... brings tears to my eyes, but cure at the same time. ❤❤❤ Beautiful....thank you for sharing
His side man on this recording was Hamish Stewart who was the main man in the Average white band, his vocals were amazing and complimented Paul’s voice perfectly.
