I’m 39. Born WELL after the Beatles split. My dad brought me up on the who, Bowie and dire straits. Oasis were my first love as an 11yr old in 94. And In rightly so, they brought me to the Beatles who, are my Favourite band by a long shot. Simply the best. Even my son likes them.
When Dave Grohl walked off stage and Paul said he was from the West Coast, then said now from the East Coast Bruce Springsteen, I shouted out your joking, I didn't believe it until he walked out on stage. Two Legends for the price of one.
I’m a huge Springsteen fan but McCartney at 80…wow what a legend. Would love to have been there. Himself and Bruce with mega long and energetic shoes put some of the younger artists to shame.
If only Jimi Hendrix was still alive, he’d show these young guitarists how to play from the soul NOT learn 4 chords off the internet and proclaim themselves rock stars.. it’s a bloody shame music has lost its soul 😥
There's lots of good music outside the mainstream I mean there's lots of genres of music - I read about great new bands in mojo and classic rock magazine all the time
Absolutely fantastic, the Beatles part of my growing up years ,the death of John broke my heart ,going to Liverpool to all the Beatles haunts . Collecting Beatle memoribila, the death of Linda ,feeling broken hearted for Paul . Still feeling the buzz of ' Get Back ' on the roof top. Bawling my eyes out when they split up but always always love there music . Never forget you George and John and peace and lorra lorra love for Paul and Ringo . Just did Unearthed Festival at 58 and was wondering how many years I can do this. Saw this and was amazed at Paul McCartney as I know it is everything before and everything after that is also the hard work no one sees. Inspirational God bless him
You critics of Paul just don’t get it. Let me see you do what he does at 80! We all know his voice is no what it was when He was in his 20’s. But it’s Paul McCartney of the Beatles, a legend, part of one of the greatest, if not the greatest Bands & songwriting teams in history. The music he has put out over the years is mind boggling. That alone is worth seeing him perform.
@@gailb8903 ...No it's not. Why would you want to listen to him sing out of tune ?? I'd rather remember him in his hay day. Glasto is the biggest UK open air festival and as such it should have headliners who can deliver. Not people who've had their time like Macca and Diana Ross. Plenty of great bands from this generation that could fill the top slots.
Awesome from Macca, and his legacy is amazing, during and after the Beatles. Bit harsh on the Stones though, saying they only did 8 brilliant songs, but that’s only Steve’s opinion. I can think of at least 20 off the top of my head.

Let’s hope not. One of the first bands to require proof of vaccine to allow their own fans to attend a concert. So they were basically a government mechanism that was used to coerce more people into taking vaccines. Fkn rotten bastards.
Lol...You joking. Sam Fender was absolutely amazing and made Macca look like a Karaoke tribute act. Macca looked good and played well but his singing voice is shot to bits. Time to call it a day.

Glastonbury is the biggest open air festival in the UK and the headline acts should be those that can deliver. It's got nothing to do with the massive influence Macca and the rest of The Beatles had on music worldwide or the legacy they left for future generations.
Have to hand it to everyone concerned with the festival they know how to put on a great show & an asset to this country. How many other performances would Bruce Springsteen & Dave Grohl just rock up to & start playing at?

In case anyone doesnt totally get that Alan Parson joke about his favourite Beatles album being "The Best of The Beatles": there is no album called "The Best of The Beatles". There's Red and Blue and Number 1s but no "The Best of The Beatles"

I was in front and centre in the fifth row for this, and after Dave Grohl walked offstage I thought the show was over, so I picked up my bag and found that the handles were soaked with urine. But there's nothing to take your mind off having another man's piss on your hands like Bruce Springsteen walking on stage unexpectedly.
Loved this clip..but saying The Stones wrote eight truly great songs and The Beatles 50 is beyond ridiculous. In my books..Stones 50 brilliant tunes...Beatles 30. Just being honest.
The way he performed on stage he looks 30 years younger than his age. Rock and Roll will either kill you or keep you young… Paul’s managed to do the latter.
Annoyed at the BBC! it's still not on iplayer, for some reason it was an hour behind when they started to broadcast it. Couldnt stay up because I'm recovering from covid and knackered , didnt record it because I thought it would be on iplayer!!!! everything else is! ☹
When you realise Mccartney is old enough to be many of that Crowds Grandparents I'm 18 but I saw a Legend this is stuff your parents told you about in the 80's and 90's when Queen, Mccartney, Bowie and so on would do concerts on TV for hours and you would know every word of every song, the crowd would be singing along. I mean people who were my age singing songs 10 or 20 years before there parents came into the world is mad. Only Britain could do that and Mccartney and a select group including Queen, The Stones, Bowie, Oasis and a few more could do that. I said it to my dad you can't see other than maybe Adelle and Ed Sheeran any modern artists having legacies like those legends where my children and grandchildren will be singing Oasis, Beatles and Queen Songs for years even after Mccartney has died and The Gallagher Brothers will be in there 70's or 80's
