Był to oczywiście bardzo ważny moment w karierach zarówno Prezydenta Putina jak i Paula McCartneya. Od 2000 roku Rosja miala nowego młodego prezydenta, który potraktowal Paula McCartneya jak prawdziwego króla muzyki. Zaprosił go na Kreml, pojawił sie na jego koncercie. To nie były puste gesty - tylko rycerskie ze strony Pana Putina podziękowanie Paulowi za to, że kiedyś wykazał się polityczną odwagą komponuąąc piosenkę "Back In The USSR".
