We were there last night. Seventh time seeing Paul live in the past 30 years. As always, a great show. Glad I could enjoy with my 16 & 14 year-old daughters. His ability to play the guitar, piano et al as well as he does at his age is beyond impressive. It takes a lot of energy to perform for two hours and forty minutes and yet he does it well, time and time again. He never disappoints. Have been reading comments the past few years and especially this tour about his voice. Yeah, he is nearly 80 years old (one more month) and though its a struggle with some of the songs, overall I was very happy and pleased with last nights performance. It sounded a lot better in person than any of the videos you see/hear. I think his voice has gotten a little stronger as this tour progresses. I encourage all to go and enjoy these shows before there are no more tours from Paul. Now, about that Winston-Salem traffic/parking, what a nightmare.

Parking and traffic control was horrible for sure. Like you said the show and Paul were amazing and we enjoyed it so much. I've seen him 3 times now but this time was special for wife and I as we were able to experience it with our 10 and 6 year old boys for the first time. They were so excited to see him. They are big Beatles fans!

Yes Paul you just do what you can, take it easy on your voice, just keep playing the music if that’s all you can but you do you, and we’ll enjoy it any way we can!!! 💕💜💕

Saw him in Spokane a few weeks ago. As an event it was magical and fantastic. The guy is a genius but let's be real too, his voice is long gone and his band does all the singing with him to beef up the vocals. I hear the same frail voice here. To me he is without peer but he is mortal like us all and as God-like as Beatles were, age is getting to this one too. Not dissing the guy, I am in awe of his stamina and will to go on and he, as a musician and more than anyone else, will know how he is in decline. That being said, if he is in your town go and see him, this may be his last hurrah and your last chance him. The atmosphere is like no other act.

you are correct regarding his voice..i love him to death but there is a point in the not too distant future that he will hang it up...amazing the time that has passed since that fateful evening on the ed sullivan sow!!

Sorry you missed the beginning. We got stuck in traffic too for a long time, then in line at the security/ ticket check. We made it to our spot about 10 minutes before the opener.

I don’t care his voice has declined from where it was 55 years ago. I’d pay 1k for him to shriek into a microphone for 5 seconds then leave the stage. He is one of the best musicians to ever live. I’ll be at the Knoxville show and I’m seeing Ringo in Atlanta June 22nd

He didn't sound all that good on the lead vo, but it's Paul, he's 80 in one month, and he had the balls to start with one of the songs he has always found among the hardest to sing. It's like he purposely chose it to say, "Take THAT!" Can't Buy Me Love has repetitive high G4 notes & sometimes sustained. It is amazing that he gave this one a try. He has SO MANY we will rarely or if ever have heard that don't tax his vocal so much. I was lucky to have seen him twice, in Mayberry in 1989 and in 1990 at the old Cowboy Stadium.

No. He didn’t. He has a set list that was determined months before the show. He sounds just terrible I don’t need to pretend it’s impressive. Saw him in 2002 and he was already struggling towards the end of the show. He looks like he’s going through the motions. I suggest saving your money and renting Get Back. Not the latest attempt at reintroducing the Beatles…..the 1990 concert film by Dick Lester. It’s truly a remarkable piece. Lots of classics (including this one) for their first time as he got old. Worth the watch.

I decided not to go here, even thought it is nearby me, because it was an open arena. May showers did happen. I can't believe Paul would even take a chance at an open air event at this age. It was on the news that getting to this event was really bad. People slowly getting in with many late even after an hour delay in stage time. Some say sitting in cars up to 3 hours once inside city limits. Sounds like WS can't handle it. Lots of Helter Skeltor going on.

Traffic was kind of ridiculous. This venue and local police have worked lots of football games and other events here with this many people and were experienced enough to pull it off, but they bungled it good!

It is an interesting phenomenon when people with pay large prices for tickets to see someone whose voice in that state, just to be in his presence. It's kind of bizzare. It's also bizzare that he inists on being out there doing large shows, when he knows that he's having trouble delivering, vocally. The whole thing is kind of weird. It gets into celebrity worship. (PS: to add to the weirdness, people pay large prices for tickets to that they can stand a football field's distance, away from the guy, and watch him on a video screen. ) I guess that thing is that you get to brag that you were there?

@@rogerspence1157 Ha ha... yeah buddy, if you like going out into the rain, standing for hours, being a football field length from an 80 year old guy, singing, who has lost his voice, and participating in a traffic nightmare, then you were in for big fun there. Yes, as a boring person, I'll opt for paying far less to see musicians, who are close to where I'm sitting, playing at a volume that isn't seizemic, are not playing music that is basically an oldies show (and where it's not raining), where parking is available (is easy to get to, and not expensive), and where you don't have to "hike into" where the music is being played. De facto, I'll go support local talent, in smaller local venues. Muscial talent was distributed far and wide, by God. Every community has players that are good. It's just a matter on not letting commercial radio dictate to you, who is "worthy" musically. I always liked McCartney's music, and as a musician, myself, have been influenced by his work. However, this situation, sounds like you'd have to be a rabid McCartney fan to find a great experience in this kind of event. I do have to say that large venues make no sense to me from an audience point of view. If you're far, far away from the stage (and possibly packed in like rats), you can't even see what is going on, on the stage, without a video screen. And, if you're going to watch it on a video screen, why not do that from the comfort of your own home?

very true , Ken man. luckily, us folks with money to see an artist Ike him, won't be spending any money to see the new guys. ie, Travis Scott, Lizzy, or many you tube stars. we're just old fashioned like that.
@KenTeel
@KenTeel 2 года назад
@@stevec.9713Travis Scott is a rapper, not a musician. To compare Paul McCartney to a rapper is kind of bizzare (which adds to the bizzare nature of McCartney's audience, once again.) Rap is not music. It is poetry and rhythm. Why don't you pick a musician to compare McCartney to? There are plenty of good musicians (singer/songwriters) out there on the internet. It sounds like you live in nostalgia, and quite possibly know little about music and its construction (music theory.) Nostalgia appears to be your thing (combined with sing a longs.)
