@PaulMcCartney playing Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight, and The End at Truist Field Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem as part of his Got Back Tour 2022. #live #paulmccartney #concerts #thebeatles
His voice might have lost some of its range and power but to be able to carry on performing as well as he does at the age of 80 is nothing short of incredible.
STILL sounds like Paul to me. I'd have given my right arm to be at that concert! and better than most singers in today's music who all sound alike. Ugh. ROCK ON PAUL!
@@Aderin.LoL Yes he did! I'd have never even thought to add any kind of negative remark about Paul. And no, my heads not in the clouds. He just did such a FANTASTIC JOB and God bless him for STILL bringing the music we love and loved to hear for half a century. Just Give it to him man! I hope he's still rocking out at 100! AND THAT wouldn't suck either.
@@garyt19651 Neither Brian, Mike, Keith or Mick have sung challenging live vocals as McCartney throughout their carreer. Paul's studio live carreer has had a vocal difficulty level that's simply above other 80 y/o. The fact that he got to this decade sounding the way he does is amazing.
John Lennon when he thought the Beatles wouldn't last said "We don't want to be on stage age 80" He forgot to tell Paul that.....The man is incredible.
Sir Paul McCartney is/was/has been - without question - the greatest singer/songwriter/musician of all time. If you disagree with that statement - you are simply wrong.
HIs best stuff was done with Lennon's edge leaning the balance away from ditties and Lennon's best work was done with McCartney pulling it along more musically. It took both to them to make them this relevant.
At 16 years old (2012) my daughter saw him for the 1st time, she cried, and dance , she & I have seen him 4xs now, the last time, she and I looked over and a girl around 16 years old was crying and holding her hands over her face, la la la Paul goes on
I was at this show. Macca is amazing! Incredible energy and presence for a man 2 weeks shy of 80 at the time. We are blessed to have lived in his time. 60 years on and he’s still as relevant now as ever. I suspect his music will still be relevant 60 years from now.
As a speech language pathologist, the fact that he delivered this so well is amazing! He knows where he is, has a voice that works pretty damned well, and can still do it playing other instruments. My patients are lucky to know where they are or eat a sandwich. Live long and prosper.
Listening to paul mccartney out there still doing it at 80 is so emotional for me because firstly he probably is slowly coming to the end of his ability to tour - secondly his voice as it has aged and lost some clarity and strength it actually sounds more poignant and emotional..and lastly..paul mccartney and the Beatles wrote the soundtrack for my entire life and probably millions more , he and the Beatles are a huge part of the worlds musical culture , what a miracle these 4 guys were together , god bless john and george RIP , and Paul and Ringo for still performing these amazing life changing songs ~
I cannot believe that he is 80. It is all in your mind! God bless him for what he has brought to humanity in the form of art and music. He should be listed in UNESCO as a cultural heritage :-)
This is awesome. He's freakin 80. My favorite part is at 6:50 Paul starts to play a bend lick on the guitar and he missed one bend (Just a dead muted string), which is no big deal, but his band mates cover for him by playing the same lick and missing the same beat that Paul missed. That is just having ears and being a bunch of pros. Loved it.
Thank you for your comment! I am going to watch that part carefully and pay attention to what you have noticed. The chemistry the band has is amazing. They all enjoy the show and they transmit that joyfullnes to the audience.
Omg I just love Paul, this song makes me cry my eyes out. If I get the chance to see Paul for the first time before he says farewell, I won’t think about it twice. He’s one of my heroes 🥺
I think, from the videos I’ve watched from this tour, his voice has gotten better as the tour progresses. Fabulous man, wonderful band and miss you Linda.
Any wise performer always thanks the crew and the other musicians as well as the audience. And, when one is so integrated into the social and music history, the "experience" of being there is being a "song leader" as much as anything else. Something Pete Seeger knew well. He could sing one word and the audience would carry the songs ... well into his nineties. Our "cute Beatle" has moved into being an "elder statesman" gracefully, with a certain honesty and fearlessness about age and its benefits and limitations. After all, when you have written generations of "hits" and changed the world of popular and other forms of music, just "showing up" is enough -- and yet, there's still an amazing show. Not bad for an old guy! ;-)
What a phenomenal man !!! There are many artists that are fortunate enough to keep it going well into their eighties and maybe even into their nineties. But I'm not sure if they are still as agile and as energetic as is Paul McCartney. He has truly been blessed. Again, the man is nothing less than phenomenal !!!
am just turned 70, and terrified of being on stage for that length of time. No problem doing half an hour, even an hour. but this band, and Paul, they go the distance, and then some, FULL ON!
I still can't believe I'm gonna see Paul next week. Always dreamt about it, even buying the tickets felt surreal. Gonna make sure to scream a big "thank you" for all the music
@@franciscocappai6835Yes, i saw him in Brazil on november 30th. Cried several times, even proposed to my gf there (and she said yes hahaha). That was a very emotional concert, indeed. We traveled 2 thousand miles, but i would do it again without thinking twice. The most special night of my life!
Thank you, Sir Paul, for all the years of concerts and wonderful songs you have written and performed here in America and the albums produced for everyone's entertainment. You are an awesome person and very much loved.
A McCartney gig is an experience, musically, emotionally, spiritually, communally, only an idiot would expect the voice of a man of 30 but really a three hour show on this scale at 80..... not half bad i reckon ;-)
Every since “Wings” Paul has always had amazing live shows. Too bad the Beatles couldn’t have had some shows this amazingly produced for suck a massive audience. Imagine if John was not murdered and George was here and this was there show.
What kills me is that people actually complained that they didn't get to hear all their favorite songs disregarding what they saw and that was a man over 80 playing every instrument at its highest level and singing with the power and grace of a 30yr old in his prime not mentioning the fact he created all these amazing songs that are the song track of our lives no autotune no teleprompters in fact I don't think anyone was even thinking about his age when they were feasting on this spectacle I know I wasn't. We never saw anything like this in 1964 when we were kids and we've never seen anything like this in 2022 he has spoiled us all like selfish little kids smh
Es Emocionante estar ahi... Emocinante verlo o reproducirlo mil veces... Paul Emociona... The Beatles Emocionan... Agradecido a la vida por haber sido contemporaneo de estos CUATRO GENIOS... Ojala te vuelva a ver en vivo en Argentina... SIR PAUL MC CARTNEY... y decirte nuevamente con lagrimas en los ojos... GRACIAS... POR TANTA MAGIA... GRACIAS... POR PONERLE COMBUSTIBLE MUSICAL A MI VIDA.....!!!!!!!!
Thank you for publishing this masterpiece. I really felt I was in. Oh my lord, this confirms that Paul will never dissapoint in anything he still does. Love u, sir.
I just hope I'm half as active and have a half bad voice at 80 , that in itself is a Milestone, Thanks Paul for a night to remember, watched it a few times. Shame Kohn wasn't here now it would have been one hell of a show . Godspeed John
Paul has really improved from just a few years ago. He is singing better, and the guitar display was impressive. I was surprised. I was expecting another disaster, but McCartney is holding his own.
