This has to be a very emotional tour for him. He knows the days of performing are almost over, he's reflecting on his incredible life's work. If this doesn't move you, you're already dead. Hats off to you James Paul McCartney, you done good.
It certainly a ‘farewell tour’ feeling about it doesn’t it? I was thinking ahwile ago that isn’t anyone alive that has been part of my world experience longer than Paul and Ringo. There is home movies of me dancing in my crib to Twist and Shout and I wanna hold Your Hand. Like most people my age, this music has truly been the soundtrack of my life.
Very well said. The best summing up of Paul these days at a precious time we need to understand how lucky we are to have lived in his lifetime. The Beatles were a gift to the world.
I’m going tonight (6/12) in Baltimore. This will be my 4th time seeing Paul, and I agree, likely the last. I’m not going to wear my contacts tonight, because I already know the tears will come. This band has been part of me for 45 years. And this song and the “I’ve Got A Feeling” duet with 1969 John are hitting me hard.
Saw him this tour at the 6,000 seat Hollywood Hard Rock, fifth time. Still incredible and moving! Yes, his voice is going, but the passion and love of playing his music is definitely still there. 2hrs 45min of time travel! I think he'll tour at least one more time...
This got me teary-eyed. It's been 21 years since we lost George physically but he'll always stay in my and many more hearts and memories. I miss George too much. Peace and Love!
@@davidblack2970 Yes, I think when you are a great fan you can think their immortal. Plus I don't think it was public that he was ill and dying which comes as more a shock.
A very nice tribute to George, I literally just watched all 6 hours of the Get Back film today, and a few hours later I find this video, and 53 years later Paul still showing his admiration to his friend, it made me tear up a little.
Yep, me too - just watched parts one and two of the Get Back documentary, third time around. Part three is on deck! This was a great cover of a George classic. Thank you, Paul
When 6'1, 200 lb former professional wide-reciever football player becomes inconsolable when Paul turns to the moniter and you see tears in his eyes then l have to agree with the person who wrote if you didn't feel any emotions, then you're probably dead also.
Considering this tribute to George and the tribute to John singing "I've Got a Feeling". . . . . You can say whatever about Paul, but aside from being one of "the" preeminent composers of the 20th century, you've gotta say Paul MacCartney has a lot of class. . . . . .Pure Class!!!!
I attended the concert, with my son, on April 28. Yes I teared up several times. I was 5 , sitting on my dad's lap, when they played Ed Sullivan show. I grew up listening to them. I made sure my son grew up, listening to the Beatles. Awesome show. Worth every penny
He isn't the Beatles. He's one of four. In some ways it's also a bit of a cheek as Lennon and McCartney squeezed George Harrison out and probably wouldn't have had this song on the album in his younger days. It was probably only because George stood his ground that it was on the album in the first place. It's a classic, but Harrison's feud with John and Paul (particularly Paul) was beginning to grow at this stage.
Pinball Junky- What a story (TWO, actually!)! I had to add this- I recently saw the Eagles in Chicago. Accompanying them was a 77pc orchestra AND… The Chicago Children’s Choir. WOW indeed. I’ve been a musician for roughly as long as they have. So naturally, I was kind of disappointed when it appeared (‘sounded’) like they were using that dreaded Auto Tune. But after a few songs, I realized that it wasn’t Auto Tune at all. They were just that damned good. Spot on. Note for note. The whole Hotel album plus Eagle hits, and solo stuff from Henley, Walsh and even James Gang! So, out of nowhere, this kid sitting next to me says “This is my first show.” Amazed, I said “You said What???” And he said “This is the first concert that I’ve ever been to.” Shell shocked in disbelief, I asked “How old are you?” “16. He replied.” Okay. Now I’m even more stunned. At that age, I had already seen Cream, the Four Seasons and Sabbath! (Hey. I’m old!). After a few songs, I elbowed him and said “So whattya think???” The kid says “Pretty impressive!” I finally catch on to the fact that the guy sitting next to him is his father. I indignantly asked him “So what’s YOUR problem? WHY is this his first show?” But all I got was a shrug. The only way that this could’ve been more perfect, was if it was a Paul show. But, as the kid said, it truly was- “Pretty impressive.”
It takes a lot of courage to perform at his age, knowing he has passed his prime... But Paul delivers! Thank you for all the amazing songs! The soundtrack to my life...
I CAN RELATE WITH PAUL…..IVE BEEN PLAYING GUITAR AND SINGING IN BANDS SINCE 1961. JUST DONE 7 GIGS IN 11 DAYS AND MY VOICE IS LIKE IT WAS 40 YEARS AGO….IM SO LUCKY. IM ALSO VERY LUCKY TO BE THE PROUD OWNER OF A HANDBUILT REPLICA OF PAULS 1964 EPIPHONE TEXAN,PERSONALLY SIGNED. P M YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE ICON WHO CHANGED THE FACE OF POPULAR MUSIC. BY THE WAY I HAD MY 80TH 2 MONTHS AGO AND I AINT PACKING UP MUSIC YET.
Why do U say he’s past his prime?! Most of our lives are lived well over the age of 20, 30 & even 40. People need to stop talking about Paul’s age! He has more energy & creativity than 99% of humanity.
As a 13 year old back in 1964, the Beatles touched me in a way that changed me forever. They're the thread running through my life, telling me to listen, to feel, and be open to the magic of living. We are indeed on a magical mystery tour. To see Paul and Ringo carrying on 50+ years later is so beautiful. Some day they'll be gone, we'll all be gone, but their music will ring in the heavens forever.
Will, I saw them in 1964 when I was 10 years old. My family couldn't afford anything like that, but somehow my aunt got tickets for me, my cousin, and our chaperone older sisters. I'll never forget my mother came into the backyard where I was playing with my friend and she said, "If you could go anywhere you wanted, where would you go?" I said, "A baseball game?" (Sidenote: I went on to be a 3 sport athlete in college, taught Physical Education, coached, Asst. Principal PE, Athletic Director- so you can understand how important that baseball game was! BTW I'm a woman) My mom said, "No, but what about a Beatles concert?" I couldn't believe it!!! It was the event of a lifetime!! I still have the program and my Beatles cards, about 250 of them. I've loved them my whole life. Like you, their music has seen me through life's journey. My heart broke when John and George died. To have Paul and Ringo still performing is unbelievable. So many around the world have been touched by their music since I went to that concert almost 58 years ago. That is staggering! To use John's words, "Imagine all the people" who have, like you and me, made it through with the help of their words and music. What a profound impact on the world those 4 young men from working class Liverpool have made.
There is a great story in the Smithsonian magazine about George visiting his aunt in the states a few months before the Beatles officially came to the United States. His aunt introduced him to some other boys that were in a band and George got to sit in with them. They asked George about his band and George replied “we’re starting to get pretty big.” Imagine three months later the same guys are watching Ed Sullivan and there stands George! George made sure that his aunt was at the Ed Sullivan taping (all according to Smithsonian magazine).
I was 4 when the lads came to America and I don't remember a world without them. This song was one of my Dad's favorites and reminds me of my parents. They're both gone now but what a memory of them, and this song, brings me~ Thank you John, Paul, George and Ringo🌟
@@jrme4714 Musical Gods! came from an era with Dylan,The Stones and The Who where it took a hell of a lot more than Attitude,Tattoo's, a bald menacing head or hole in the jeans to be huge.
That did it!! When George' photo appeared and they played Something In The WayvShe Moves, well tears sprang from my eyes. How incredibly beautiful the Beatles years together were.
Who cares if Paul has lost his voice. He could one day end up just being barely able to hum tunes and that's totally fine. The man is a walking, breathing music history whose love for the life and history he shared with his mates is beyond question.
@@richarddelaney9072 Paul's ego would never allow him to do that. No way. He's the star of the show, and he will always be the main guy and the singer. If he can't do it anymore, he will retire. Brian Wilson is mentally impaired, which is why he had to take a bit of a back seat. Paul is not impaired.
Sir Paul was in good voice when I saw him just 3 weeks ago. The second song was "Junior's Farm" and he let it rip! If I could summon that kind of stamina when I'm 80, you'll see me at the top of Mount Everest. And to you Sir Paul; May you always have walls for the winds, A roof for the rain, tea beside the fire, Laughter to cheer you, those you love near you, And all your heart might desire.
Paul’s voice is not, of course, what it used to be, but who really cares? The people lucky enough to attend one of his concerts are here for the showmanship, the legacy, an opportunity to celebrate a musical legend. George is my favorite and I know they had their differences but he and Paul did reconcile and I’m happy about that. All “families” have their hard times but the best ones get through them, humble themselves and make amends. I believe that’s what George and Paul did. Anyway, I wish I could have been at one of these concerts and I’m so happy that Paul is still doing what he loves best.
@@aidanbyrnes692 I’m just going by the videos different people have posted. Sometimes he sounds pretty good but as I said, not like he used to. But then, how many guys his age do? I’d go see him anyway (except that I can’t:-)

I totally agree 100% but then again I'm biased as I'm a fellow scouser...I fell in love with Paul in 1962, age 7...Still The same today, God bless this Beautifull Man, What he has brought to the world with his songwriting and music is beyond belief, one of the 20th century composers who is etched in the musical history books...Long may he continue...a living icon..Sir Paul Mccartney. ❤
@@TheSapanone "Oh Darling!" all by itself did a number on Paul's voice. He did multiple takes on that and shredded his voice at the insistence of John and George. Mostly John, of course.
Beautiful. I saw him in concert. Paul was amazing. Excellent concert. His voice reflects his age. It's not what it was, but his songs are second to none. Hit after hit after hit................ He sang about thirty songs. Unbelievable.
In terms of songwriting talent, the Beatles were blessed beyond all reason. Some bands -- CCR, The Who, and others come to mind -- have a single writer who can create the hits that make them great. The Beatles were simply in a class by themselves. They had one first tier songwriter, and two almost godlike ones. George Harrison, who wrote this song, was the _second rank_ songwriter in that band. McCartney and Lennon were just on fire in the 1960s. Nobody else compares in the ability to turn out great songs _in quantity._ They wrote more hits than anyone else. George Harrison would have been _the_ hit maker in _any_ other band. In the Beatles, he was in the second level. Think about the amount of sheer talent that was packed into that one group. This is why they are so much more influential than any other group in the rock and roll genre. And this song... It just shows, that if Harrison couldn't equal the sheer number of hits that Lennon and McCartney could churn out, then it can't be denied that his very best work was fully the equal of their best. "Something" is one of the all time greatest love songs ever written, and entirely fit to stand beside the best that John or Paul ever wrote. I'm sure Paul recognizes this, and it's why he's glad to perform this song in tribute to his friend and bandmate.
Music historians have already put them up with Mozart and Beethoven for the sheer volume and quality of their music writing. No other band since them has come even close.
True, I would add the Kinks with Ray Davies, he was the one who wrote almost all the lyrics, apart from a few by his brothers, maybe the Byrds with gene Clark David Crosby and Chris Hillman could be compared to the fab four
I think you also have to add the Kinks, Rolling Stones to name but two. The 60's was about creative freedom which as a kid of the 70's/80's I appreciate. But the boomers got the fun and fcuked the world too xD
@@davewilson9738 There are lots of good bands but the Beatles still hold the record for the most No.1 songs. Rolling Stones are great but still out sold by Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac... Still comes down to volume and quality. Rolling Stones have a huge volume of work, but there's is some ordinary stuff there IMO
Amen, I was blessed to have watched their introductory performance on Ed Sullivan and to enjoy their songs, their personalities, their humor, through the good times and the bad. To have lost John and George was tragic. To be able to watch, and listen to Ringo and Paul continue their love and passion for music, through the love and compassion they have for the world and their fans is one of the greatest pleasures we can have.
Back in my youth I was in a band We did a reggae version of this song It was around the time The Police & UB40 were really popular It was well received
Sir Paul Thank You for all your music from the Cavern Days which my wife's sister went many Times and concerts later . Would Love you to come to NZ but to the South Island this time so we can see you one more time. Sir Paul M'CARTNEY YOU did US PROUD.

Brought a tear to my eye! Love All The Beatles!!! Seems like it was just yesterday by older brother came home with " *ALL THINGS MUST PASS"* in 1970. He put the albums on side by side, ( All 4 sides) I sat on the bed mesmerized! I wouldn't move.. every song had my full attention! And when the two albums were finished I had to listen again!!! I got my licenses that year. My Dad gave me one of his cars. Me and my buddy Sal installed an 8 track tape player. Then, I went out and bought the 8 tack tape of "All Things Must Pass".. I did it with "McCartney", John Lennon Plastic' Ono Band.. Those were the days. I still listen to everything. Its the best music around in 2022!
I'm more of a Stones fan as you can probably tell by my username. But a long time before I was a Stones fan I was an eighth year old Beatles fan and still emotionally connect more with The Beatles than any other band.
I was 5 when they came on the Ed Sullivan show, but like yourself I am so glad that I was there and aware when the Beatles were still making their best music and the solo careers that followed. I took my daughter to see Sir Paul this time around and I treasure having shared that experience with her.
@@charlie-obrien Hope your daughter enjoyed the show, I'm sure you did. I saw Paul McCartney in 1989 and it was a thrill when they played "Can't Buy Me Love" from 1964's "A Hard Day's Night."
A tribute to George, to remember all those songs that he wrote and performed them, this is probably the best way to perform George's songs, and convey love for him with your performance ... Thank you Paul for this concert ...❤❤❤🙏🙏
@@lilybond6485 These thoughts also occurred to me, maybe if George was still with them, because of excessive pride, he would not have to leave the group and everything would have ended differently ..... George was offended that the songs that he wrote, they were appropriated by Paul ..

I was there on Thursday night and he was beyond AWESOME with so much love for his brothers! I’ve loved him and the Beatles since they came to America in ‘64. I will never forget seeing them at Shea Stadium and seeing him Tonight just brought it full Circle for me. Thank you for all these songs and your music that was with me throughout my emtire life! Oh to be able to turn the clock back! 😭 I would go back to Beatlemania days in a heartbeat! I would’ve loved to have seen these guys perform back then. In my eyes, The Beatles are by far the best group ever, and I doubt in my lifetime they will ever be topped. God bless you Paul for bringing George into your concert 👍❤️
I would go back without a thought in a nano second. The Beatles were an absolute mood altering experience with no drug involved. Never felt that way before The Beatles or after they broke apart. Actually things seemed to change rather quickly after Brian Epstein died. “The Touring Years”. If you have not seen Ron Howard’s film “The Touring Years” - do yourself a favor and buy that DVD or watch it however you can. It’s like re-living that time all over again. It’s the best film on The Beatles that I’ve seen and YES -- it is like having that mood altering experience all over again. Just relax, dim the lights, and pre-tend that you are 12 yrs old and you are there.
Es un privilegio poder ver y escuchar a Paul en un concierto donde honra a George, dos personas maravillosas de las cuatro que fueron y seguirán siendo por siempre reconocidos como lo más grande de la música...LOS BEATLES ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this tour, Paul. I am more than sure that he can still live to 90 and create his great songs. This is just one of the examples when a person really does not give up and has been afloat since 1957. Live long, Sir Paul McCartney. Truly a legend!

USA here... Music is one instrument that will always bind all people on earth crop politicians greedy businessmen evil world leaders will never get it and we will never comprehend their divisive ways and their motive is to always put people against people for their power and Gain. As a fellow musician myself Love The Beatles from an early age I'm 49 years old now but at the age of 12 years old hearing the classics of The Beatles early '60s and progressing forward it was evident that their music would touch the lives of many many people in the world. When you are musician and music is in your heart... race, gender and ethnicity have no more meaning. All that matters is making music together and finding the deeper connection of life through music together. The evil that exists out there will never comprehend this god-given gift that we have our Lord and savior put music in our hearts and as being created in His image we also have love for that. Your words inspired me to write back to you today as another fellow musician across the globe and also state that we hate what is going on between Russia and Ukraine watching NATO stand by and the USA giving lip service and money. The 20 million plus refugees that have left Ukraine I pray for their lives and the lives of their families I pray we can restore peace and order and balance in this Earth but war will always be, poverty will always be because in the hearts of man is greedy filled with envy and lost for power always full of sin. But the simplicity and messages of music are just that it's very simple to see that we have much more in common as a human race than dividing us up by the color of our skin and our financial value music is colorless and a binding Force beyond all measure. Now for you ...keep at your music. You have a long life ahead of you... bring back good quality music. bring back musicianship and aspiring songs and words. I wish you all the luck doing this.

The day Paul passes, if I live to see that day, will be one of the saddest days of my life. Every Macca fan should see McCartney 1, 2, 3 with Rick Rubin on Hulu. I watched this on a transatlantic flight recently and watched it again on the return flight. So moving. I thought I had heard all of his great stories ten times, but there was more to be told. It has been more than 20 years since George left us and more than 40 since John was gone. Time marches on, Paul and Ringo are still vital beings and their positive influence is a light unto this world. The greatest band that will ever be, there should be no argument.
I saw Paul live in 2002. Had to pay $200 but it was a fine concert and he was in great voice. Cannot afford to pay $1500 or whatever the hell he is charging now. I will choose to remember that concert. It is unfortunate that he has chosen to make this final tour a money grab. Completely unnecessary as he is indisputably in much weaker voice now. Just make it accessible to ALL the fans. Go out with dignity please.
@@Better_Call_Raul Looks like the average face value of the tickets is about $225. But these are swept up by third parties who resell them, sometimes at astronomical costs. Its the old supply and demand issue. Unfortunately Paul has no control over this whatsoever. It is just a sad reflection of todays world. And I won't be going either. It's sad to see him in such decline. I shed some tears watching the Rubin doc.

Eighty years old and still a lot of talent left in Paul. Good to see him making the tour. The original British Invasion of rock ‘n’ roll…The Beatles. I salute all The Beatles.
You know what -- it’s almost kind of sickening how “holier than thou” Paul treated George Harrison. It’s amusing how he is respecting George here -- when he had no respect for him while he was alive. George talked about how he was treated in interviews.
@@lilybond6485 I agree that Paul could've given George more respect in the studio, but I don't think any of us can really comment on their personal relationship as friends. We have no way of knowing how much love either man had for the other.

So much love for Paul - Still rocking at 80 - Get busy living or start dying - He has so much energy he could live forever.... Fantastic he was able to make such wonderful tributes to his lost brothers George and John.
Just kudos to Paul. Probably one of the 10 most recognizable people on our planet for 60 years, and still a great artist that can still connect with fans like me.
Something, I"M not sure what, awoke in my soul because of these four gentlemen way back in the sixties. If I should outlive Paul and Ringo, I fear there will be an empty space left in me that I will miss for the rest of my days. Thank you Paul and all of your band mates. You have been a great part of my life.
Yes Michael I feel the same way... I'm born and bred in Liverpool...and their music has had an effect on me all my life....it broke my heart when John and then George passed away, we were robbed, they should have been here to this day, but Paul never ever does a concert without including his brother's, I think now he is older..they have left a massive whole in his life, what he wouldn't give to go back to those early days, and do you know he has never deserted his homeland, he often comes to Liverpool, he has cousins here, and a home to....he's very much a humble, grounded man, as you can appreciate he is idolised in this city as well as the other 3...Four Liverpool Lad's who shook the world..need I say more....God Bless Him...
Its hard for me to revisit Beatles. Some of the happiest times of my life because I was still a kid and so many things have gone wrong repeatedly since. So moving forwrd is always my choice because its too sentimental and sometimes painful. You know? I should at least do a Beatles day evry now and then. I moved forward from Bob Dylan too but he is depressing so it sort of fit and I do still listen periocically….but the Beatles were some really happy stuff!
