@@michaelsrowland Paul McCartney and the Beatles in general are a gift from the heavens. Not just “anyone” can become the next Beatles. Dude literally came up with these melodies in his dreams, that’s not something that comes from just hard work lol
It makes me cry that John and George are dead, yet Paul's still going strong along with Ringo. And this song just makes my crying worse. God the Beatles are good at making sad, but great songs.
Paul lost his mother 1956 Their band disbanded 1969 or 1970 His longtime friend john lennon died 1980 His longtime wife linda died 1998 His Former Band Member George Harrison died 2001 Separated and divorced from heather mills 2006 But if paul and ringo die that is the saddest day ever to me 😭😭😭 Now paul have a good and wonderful life❤️❤️❤️
@@burgermelon3607 I don't hear auto tune, but do hear the usual sound improvements that most all bands do like compression and reverb to his voice which does enhance the sound of his voice.
Conan the Destroyer it just sounds so electronic and I don’t see why people r going we love him now this is great when it’s just auto tuned u can hear it really well at some bits like the bit everyone’s going that’s amazing to it’s such a shame really cos I know paul mccartney wants to keep a legacy I just don’t want that legacy to be auto tune
PAUL McCARTNEY: "I was going through a really difficult time around the autumn of 1968. It was late in the Beatles’ career and we had begun making a new album, a follow-up to the “White Album.” As a group we were starting to have problems. I think I was sensing the Beatles were breaking up, so I was staying up late at night, drinking, doing drugs, clubbing, the way a lot of people were at the time. I was really living and playing hard. The other guys were all living out in the country with their partners, but I was still a bachelor in London with my own house in St. John’s Wood. And that was kind of at the back of my mind also, that maybe it was about time I found someone, because it was before I got together with Linda. So, I was exhausted! Some nights I’d go to bed and my head would just flop on the pillow; and when I’d wake up I’d have difficulty pulling it off, thinking, “Good job I woke up just then or I might have suffocated": Then one night, somewhere between deep sleep and insomnia, I had the most comforting dream about my mother, who died when I was only 14. She had been a nurse, my mum, and very hardworking, because she wanted the best for us. We weren’t a well-off family- we didn’t have a car, we just about had a television - so both of my parents went out to work, and Mum contributed a good half to the family income. At night when she came home, she would cook, so we didn’t have a lot of time with each other. But she was just a very comforting presence in my life. And when she died, one of the difficulties I had, as the years went by, was that I couldn’t recall her face so easily. That’s how it is for everyone, I think. As each day goes by, you just can’t bring their face into your mind, you have to use photographs and reminders like that. So in this dream twelve years later, my mother appeared, and there was her face, completely clear, particularly her eyes, and she said to me very gently, very reassuringly: “LET IT BE.” It was lovely. I woke up with a great feeling. It was really like she had visited me at this very difficult point in my life and gave me this message: Be gentle, don’t fight things, just try and go with the flow and it will all work out. So, being a musician, I went right over to the piano and started writing a song: “When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me”… Mary was my mother’s name… “Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.” There will be an answer, let it be.” It didn’t take long. I wrote the main body of it in one go, and then the subsequent verses developed from there: “When all the broken-hearted people living in the world agree, there will be an answer, let it be.” I thought it was special, so I played it to the guys and ’round a lot of people, and later it also became the title of the album, because it had so much value to me, and because it just seemed definitive, those three little syllables. Plus, when something happens like that, as if by magic, I think it has a resonance that other people notice too. Not very long after the dream, I got together with Linda, which was the saving of me. And it was as if my mum had sent her, you could say".
That opening line “When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me.” His mother was named Mary, but she passed away when he was young. Kind of heavy when you think about it like that.
@@jameswhat8211 Yeah, after the dream he remembers that in dream his mother told him Let it be, at that time he was 24 and he was at hardship. Next thing he did was wrote a song. What a beautiful and heart touching story.
Never heard the story behind this song. Was raised Catholic, so the name Mary rang a bell anyway. Sadder now that I know. But also inspiring and comforting. Still. Thanks for my TIL lesson.
Unfortunately this version has been autotuned. You can compare it with this one from the same year: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GXxmukqA2Zo.html
@@Vel_0000 wasn't he almost 70? Maybe 68ish? I noticed it sounds like he's singing with autotune. Not gonna lie.. it sounds awesome. The others don't sound bad for him being almost 70. He was still singing much better than Paul Stanley at that age. Paul Stanley was still sounding bad with Auto-Tune and finally had to start lip syncing most of the set by the time he was this age
@@johnnyjohns3863 I personally didn't think Paul's autotune was too enjoyable, but on the Get Back tour he sounded splendid for his age... without vocal enhancers
When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom, let it be And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree There will be an answer, let it be For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see There will be an answer, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be There will be an answer, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom, let it be And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me Shine until tomorrow, let it be I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be There will be an answer, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
We lost a dear friend last weekend, whom we've known and loved for 4 decades. This song almost seems a tribute to her -"Mother Mary" - with loving husband, 2 sons and a growing army of grandbabies to her resume of teacher and nurse ... let it be, indeed
He probably was thinking of he's 3 best friends, 2 dead, the other not in touch, and sitting there with him back in the 60's with his awesome beard and his young voice.
Paul after 1980 kinda went to hell, look at 1975 Paul. Resolved conflict with Lennon, performing with wings and Linda. Just having a great time, time skip to about 1998 and Linda is gonna die soon and a few years after that george goes also. His young voice goes about 1997. amazing man and he’s still making good music and i’m so proud of him for staying around after all this. He’s such a nice and pure guy.
I came back to this song, because one of my best friends has passed away. He was in a wheelchair and was hurting badly, and I wanted to be his friend and now he's up in heaven, happier than ever. Thank you Paul for giving me hope.
What a legend, class act and inspiration to other musicians. I’m so glad that he can still play this song on the piano. It is truly a timeless piece and awesome.❤ He is truly a master professional musician. I don’t think there is one person on this earth just this song hasn’t touch and tonight I saw his story on how he wrote it.❤
came here today for Gabby Petito Rip Beautiful. She had the words let it be tattooed across her. Speaks on the kind of person she was a light taken too soon. Rip gabby petito
Our english teacher told us to listen to this song and write a sentence about the feelings it causes us. I ended up writing a whole a$$ paragraph pouring all my feelings out but I didn't know she would read them to the class, so guess who's getting pitied today:)
Я не знаю как вы, но это просто неописуемо. Я не знаю, как Вам обращаться, но если Вы слушаете эту музыку, Вас надо поздравить с тем, чтобы всегда слушали и не прикрощали. Это музыка души!
You’ll notice ever legendary musician respects their instrument and the music itself through their playing Paul is a great example of this, take someone like Eddie Van Halen as well he respected his ability and his instrument and he became one of the greatest guitarists known to man. Paul respects his ability and knows how to use to his advantage that’s what makes him a legendary musician
Puedo olvidarme a veces, son tantos, pero Paul McCartney, además de haber sido quien me incentivó a querer cantar como él, ha sido un maestro en mi vida musical. Muchas gracias, maestro Paul. ❤

I was lucky enough to see Sir Paul in the late 80s. Of course, it was in a stadium and I had seats that felt like I was looking down at the stage from the dark side of the moon, but I wouldn't trade the experience for the world. Let it be,, people. He's been a rock among the chaos for over half a century and we're STILL not getting the message.
Thanks for this song paul, used for my beautiful baby Jessica born sleeping 6/12/15 at her funeral tears in my eyes every time I listen to it but so thankful for those tears.
