I get your man-woman complimenting talk. It's good. However, there was more to this song. Paul was deeply affected and troubled by the Beatles breakup. He wrote this excellent song just on the heels of it. Paul was VERY upset at the breakup. He met Linda about a year before that breakup. This is about that. All of that. Fun fact. This song could have, maybe should have been a Beatles song. A month or so before John (creep) left the group in Sept. of '69, the group met and discussed a potential next album. They discussed a 4 (Lennon Songs), 4 (Paul songs), 4 (Harrison songs), 2 (Ringo songs) album. There was some positivity toward the idea in the meeting. Had that happened, then "Maybe I'm Amazed" probably makes it onto that album. But, didn't happen. Love this song. It's Beatles quality.

I loved this song for years, and yet...something you said at the end that made me realize something new about this song. This is a pretty muscular ballad when you get down to it. A "power ballad" maybe. Certainly it's not one of those gentle, "pretty" ballads. I know maybe not everyone would agree with that assessment, but assuming there's a point to that, you have to say the lyrics are very vulnerable. That contrast of strength and vulnerability might have a lot to do with what makes this song so great.

Paul McCarthy is the Bomb! Check put anything from Paul McCarthy and Wings! Highly recommend: Live and Let Die - live

I grew up listening to English-language music. I love very much: Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Genesis. I have not listed all of them. Pink Floyd is number 1 for me!!! Strange. For me, the best music was created in the 60-70 years. Paul McCartney has more cool songs. Everyone's taste is different - you can't argue. My favorite Paul Songs: Band on the run, Ram, Dear friend, Monkberry Moon Delight, Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five, Love is song, Beware my love. I started to list and realized how many there are. I advise you to listen to some of these.

This one was McCartney stripped -bare.The Beatles broke up and he was alone with his new wife Linda, without his band ...the biggest band on the planet.Everything written, sung and played on this track is McCartney on his own...every instrument ...every note. All homemade on his first solo album.Extraordinary stuff really.

Beautiful reaction, a lovely couple you are , there’s no bullshit response like some others. I think this song was about Linda his wife.

actually it's not a too much younger Paul, he did this song in 1970 when he was 28 as compared to when he was 20 when the Beatles first song "LOVE ME DO" came out in 1962.

For those who don't know: every - EVERY! - electric guitar sound you hear on this song was played by Paul. (As, of course, was the bass, the drums and the piano -- but that guitar solo!)

speaking of first albums i'd like to see you react to a song from George Harrison's first album, All Things Must Pass called I Remember Jeep. I think you'll be surprised.

This is from McCartney a solo album in 1970. He performs all the musical instruments himself and sings vocal. He does the same on his new one McCartney 3 just out. Inrecommend When Wintet Comes off the new album
