I saw Wings in Atlanta on this '76 tour. Paul is a tremendous entertainer. Its hard to beat him live. I say this having seen Clapton, The Who, Zep, Rush, ZZ Top, Van Halen, AC/DC, and Ozzy live just to name a few.
Paul has always been such a good performer, singer and multi instrumentalist. After you here some more Beatles you will see more of him singing and playing like this - "Oh Darling!" comes to mind
I love it when you do 70's classics!! It was Great being a teen back then! Smoking a little herb and slipping on headphones and hearing it for the first time. hearing the crackle of the needle on the record, reading liner notes. Makes me wish i had a time machine!!! So many great memories!
Wings live 1976 and "Wings over america" is really an underrated masterpiece of Rock/Pop history! thanks so much for uploading/reacting to this amazing video!
Keep doing what your doing, have fun and I will enjoy watching the fun you have. We all have busy lives and I am greatly appreciative of the time and effort you put in. particularly love classic rock reactions, Rush, ELO, Iron Maiden, best musicians = best reactions.
Love it. Would be cool to check out some other songs from the Wings Over America tour, but if you want to continue with the songs that you two pick to continue Kel's classic rock journey then I'm sure we'll all enjoy it just as much. Salutations from the UK.
Here's a little story. My sister asked me what i wanted for Christmas in 76 and i told her i wanted the new album from Paul McCartney and Wings '' Wings over America'' . She said that's all you want? I told her yea, its a 3 album set.We all laughed. II was surprised that she did get it for me. and two tickets to the ''Wings over America'' tour that happened to be coming to Denver. What a show that was. [Side story] At he concert i freaked out the whole band Just before they did blackbird i yelled HEY! LOOK UP HERE!. (we were in the cheap seats in the back of the stage and nobody looked up at the fans )( till then) Paul jumped out of the rocking chair and held up his acoustic looking up in our direction then gave out three whoo's. Even Joe English and the horn section was looking up . Linda , Jimmy and Denny Lane was laughing , cause it was loud loud ! Hell i was even shocked cause it just flew out of my mouth. Then i looked around and a sea of eyes from every direction was looking back at me. My best friend Bob's jaw was dropped and he was staring at me in disbelief. The rest of the show Paul was playing facing us more than the people in front. It was so cool. Peace and Love
I had the pleasure of seeing this tour, "Wings Over America", back in 1976, in St. Paul, MN. I go back & forth between this concert, or when I saw the Rolling Stones in Nashville back in 1997, for my favorite concert ever. Thanks for delving into Wings!
You two Rock!!! Who cares if anyone makes a mistake or two, I enjoy watching the reactions and seriously how much you two care for music and one another. If anyone has an issue that's their problem not yours. Keep killing it daily I'll keep watching.
I love what you two are doing. Your always going to have the know it alls that get off on correcting everyone. Ignore them and keep being fun and awesome. Thanks for the effort you both put forth. :)
That version from the Rockshow concert is amazing … Silly Love Songs from the same is incredible with Paul all over the stage, essentially playing lead on the bass and when it was time for the horns he rocks his way over too them to get them some love … And they are having a blast. Paul is magical.
Loved Kel's reaction with the little piano tinkle. Very cool!!! Keep up the great reactions. Can you two look at McCartney's live n let die Thanks God bless
Great reaction! No need to explain anything to anyone. You got a great style and amazing musical taste. All the success and good health to you and yours! 💜💜👍🏽👍🏽
Yep, just one of the most incredible Live performances Ever, but the lack of appreciation or maybe lack of exposure of this particular performance is sad. 😢
Love the SNL Svetty balls vibe. Yes, Great balls & Whole Lotta Shakin' is a percussive, boogie woogie thang. Glad you are broadening your Rock horizon!
Man you have it right. These Rockshow performances are some of the best. Paul is at the top of his game, the band is amazing, and you tell they are having a blast playing the music.
Equally impressive from the same DVD Is Beware My Love and Soily.. both are just phenomenally relentlessly power! For me, the best life performance ever!
Linda was the best thing that ever happened to Paul. I love his song "Mull of Kintyre", it's such a wonderful song and just gives you those weekend around the campfire with friends feeling. I actually sing it when my anxiety starts to get too bad. Calms me right down.
In His later years, Paul re-composed this song to be classical in genre. Something like a quartet piece. It is extraordinary to hear. He also does a classical rendition of "My Love". Also cool.
I was at that exact concert. Still have the ticket stub too! If you were to watch the entire concert, I think it's on DVD now, and look toward the stage and looked for the tallest person near the first stage amp on the left side; that would be me.
I've always loved this song. In fact I bought the McCarthy album when it came out . My sister and I went in on it. The whole album is good. It's where Paul's head was at .
McCartney's piano playing has never really gotten as much recognition as it deserves. He's fantastic and creates some great and very 'tasteful' licks on the keys! This song as well as others, "Lady Madonna," Hey Jude", "Long and Winding Road" etc.
Jimmy McCulloch(in the white jacket) was the brilliant young guitarist featured in this aged 23, tragically he died just 3 years later .He was also in a band called Thunderclap Newman, formed by The Who's Pete Townsend, who released the classic single "Something in the Air", which is definitely worth listening to....Loved you two's reaction...keep 'em comin
Hi guys :-) Dont worry, your love shines like a beacon in the darkest night and its so good to see how you work together. Ignore the idiots and continue your journey and appreciation of good music and musicians, composers etc. Life is short and should not be wasted on the ones who dont get it. Keep it on! You are both fun and adorable! Brgds, John
You know, Rich, this channell is about first reactions. Some of the best reactions are when a song or band is new to you also. You folks don't have to know everything. That's what our role is. You put the music out there and we share our knowledge and experiences with that particular artist. Then we can all learn from each other.
You're both great as you are, if people don't like you they can make the choice and go elsewhere. I enjoy how natural you both are with no hidden agenda. ❤
Hey @nicola Froomes! Good to see you. Thanks for that. We just had to boot a troll. People's pain saddens us but does not mean that we will allow it to run over us or others. They just get booted. Much love. Glad you are enjoying what we are sharing. Enjoy the vids tonight. Wow. KnR
@@Kel.N.RichReactions thanks for your kind reply. I think that there is so much to be negative about in this sad, crazy world but let's enjoy some wonderful music and let it fill our hearts with positivity. Keep going Rich and Kel! 😍❤
My brother Joe and used to listen to the Wings Over America album all the time while we played our Sports Illustrated Baseball game together. We wore out my album copy while played the game, we spent hours playing the game together when our family first moved to another area on Long Island and we didn’t know anyone. This memory flooded in with hearing this song again and also because I just lost my brother last week, but it’s a good memory, I’m just sad cause I miss my brother. \m/ Stay Metal \m/
Got to see him live about six years ago, and it basically made it so I don't ever really NEED to see anyone else live ever again. I will, but that was the be-all end-all of concerts. For the first 2 or 3 songs, it was "I'm seeing a Beatle live in concert!" Then after that, it settled in just how great he is on his own and just all about the performance quality.
That is a band that is locked in and very well played. They were just so damn tight, that they make their parts feel so effortless, but the song is so rich and has so much depth. Not to mention how insanely romantic it is and Paul having his wife on stage with him makes you feel it. I have seen this video and heard this song thousands of times since being a kid in the 1970's. If this was the last song I ever heard on earth, I could die and go to heaven with big smile on my face because it reminds me that I have love and love a woman this deeply.
Hi guys, its Laurie and Darrell from Newport News, Va. We really enjoy watching yalls videos. Kel, you revitalize our love of this music. I know it's been about 8 months since you put this video out, and I should've commented sooner, but I didn't want to open "that" can of worms. Have you heard the "Paul is dead" conspiracy theory? According to this theory, Paul died in a car crash in 1966 and was replaced by a look alike who through surgery (and Paul's absence from public view for a time) was accepted as Paul McCartney. The theorists offer side by side photos (pre and post 1966) as part of the evidence, and the difference in key when Paul sings. Anyway , the reason I say anything at all is because at about the 12:40 mark, Kel, you say "I didn't know he could sing like that, or play like that", "that is not the Paul McCartney I"ve heard". It"s glorious to me to think of all those theorists out there who are going crazy over such comments, and especially coming from someone who is so new and innocent to all this music and the culture surrounding it. I haven"t seen anyone else comment on the subject so I threw in my 2 cents, and for me it is just something to smile about. Ok guys keep on truckin, stay safe, and we will keep watching.
I had just graduated from high school and one of my best friends said he was getting tickets for McCartney and Wings concert and did I want to go. Absolutely I said! So, summer of '76 and here I am in line waiting to see the concert of the year (Cow Palace, just south of San Francisco). Smell of pot and LOTS of talk about a Beatles reunion is what I remember most about standing in line waiting to get inside. And yeah...it was a concert for the ages! ✌
This song was originally released on Paul's first solo album called "McCartney". He played all instruments on all songs adding tracks to the songs as he went. Linda played on some of the songs. I had this album on vinyl at one time.
Kel play this on SUZI, extreme piano playing, hmm thought. I've listened to so much music over the years, it is hard to listen to the studio version again and again. Your live music reaction is what makes me keep listening.
Got "Ram" and Wings "Wild Life" when they first came out. They didn't sell that well but I liked them. "Monkberry Moon Delight" was my favorite song them.
I think maybe you guys should check out the Beatles - oh darling, McCartney was killing these vocals in the Beatles as well, his range is absolutely ridiculous, great reaction!!!!
McCartney s voice in my opinion reached its zenith in 1976....just sublime singing. As a kid born in the early 70s his voice on this song and a few others from wings actually hooked me on him and subsequently the beatles...his voice was amazing during this era
If they want details about groups and songs, tell 'em to Google it. I think it's awesome that Rich wants to share a musical journey with Kel. Keep on rockin guys!
