I thought it was amazing that when Rogan was asked whether Paul was his best friend he replied: he "is" ,even though Paul had passed away But when asked about if Alex was like a second dad to him he replied: he "was" The words we choose say more about us than we think
But he was also ask at the end of his testimony if he knew Alex and he said he did and then creighton ask him again Did he really know Alex and he said he did , so that leads me to believe he’s still believing Alex .
Kinda be interested in hearing you tell that to the mothers or fathers of all of our dead OEF-OIF "children" his age and significantly younger, often from the working classes of the South--who were busying themselves with sustained conflict of varying intensities instead of beta-orbiting around a wealthy family of multigenerational privileges for whatever crumbs were tossed their way. Mr. Gibson was a grown man and UNDOUBTEDLY KNEW these people were trouble. He knew to stay away.
@@sashane01no, he was distracted by the phone when Alex shot him the first time. He was on the phone, I believe. He took a couple steps then had his head blown off. He absolutely knew who shot him, though. The first wasn’t fatal and he walked almost out the door between the two shots.
This is ASTOUNDING!!!!!!! This solidifies prosecutions entire case!!!! Paul was in constant contact .. but was unable to send the video due to his father murdering him and his mother!!!! Best friend saves the entire case!!!! God Bless this kid!!! He's going to relive this over and over
@@surferbetty3248 Oh you’re the type of person to “heal” yourself at home because you can’t trust professionals. Let me know how that works out in your older years! 🤣
Alex phoning this young man after Maggie and Paul was shot dead, is another level!! No telling what Alex would have said or done to this young man. Thank God 🙏 he was sleeping soundly
This young man is very believable and I feel very sincere. This must be so hard on him. Has anyone noticed Alex would keep shaking head up and down like nod yes but if maybe something he does not agree with he has no head movement and his eye expression are interesting.
My heart sure goes out to this young man. You can tell by his voice and his mannerisms that he's going to be affected by the loss of his friend for the rest of his life. He is 110 percent. I don't think he could lie if his life depended on it.
When he realized Alex killed his own son & wife....He has to be afraid to testify. That family has deep reaching hands etc. I feel for him due to that issue.
I agree with you. I can only imagine, he can not sleep at night no more. I'm sorry it had to be his best friend and the video sealed the case. Placed Alex right there at the scene of the crime. Paul spoke from heaven and helped solve his mom's and his murder case.
@@bubbagump1306 Paul was not at fault that boat accident was AN ACCIDENT ! What happened with Mallory was an unfortunate accident. Paul did not intentionally kill her.
@Michelle Baker he was operating the boat drunk. He chose to operate the boat intoxicated. That's not accidental. I wish people would stop making excuses for drunk drivers.
I admire this young man’s honesty and integrity. He lost so much but had the courage to tell the truth. I wonder what Alex’s other son feels about him as he hears all of his testimony?
@@nkiru61 I think Buster sadly may be psychotic like his father. It runs in families and there have been several genes associated with psychopathy. Sad thing is even tho Paul was a drunk and did some really horrible things he also loved the housekeeper Miss Gloria and saw her as a mother even having a photo of her in his wallet. His ex gf said he was cruel but was also really kind and she felt very conflicted about him because he was both a wonderful and awful person. No one has anything good to say about Buster. I’ve only heard bad things about him. It looks like Alex might’ve killed his only son that had a chance of redemption and it’s really really sad.
A friend in need is a friend indeed. This friendship last forever even after death. This is a miracle. This guy asked his friend Paul to send him a video on the perfect time. He is like an angel whom God send to solve his friend and his second mom murder case.
If God sent him he would have saved the family except this family is evil, crooked and liars. They are narcissist, thief's,abusing power, arrsting innocent ppl and prosecuting them with planted evidence for decades! Judges with all the power etc. Paul killed Mallory Beach by his refusal to let them off the boat and then to wretch it to the highest speed with no lights with fog and 2 in the morning. He hurt the others badly as well. Drunken sociopath entitled brat. He killed the housekeeper too. Buster his brother killed his gay lover coz his friends were starting to,figure it out. None of them with any concern for anyone else.
He conducted himself with a lot of grace. He gave direct answers. He didn’t confuse anyone or go on long tangents. He just said “this is how it was” and left it at that. He is the reason his friend found justice so he should feel proud of himself knowing he helped give Paul and Maggie peace. My heart broke for him when he was having to rewatch the video of Paul filming Cash.
Definitely feel for this kid, everything he's been through & having to testify in this case. Alex Murdaugh was surrounded by some really good & decent people. What a damn shame.
@@SonjaHamburg you can see he was closer than just a family friend…..he was part of the family. You can see the pain in his face. These people were everything to him. Extremely credible!
Anddddd again…the crowd of hysterics dominate the conversation while lacking the basic facts. This is not Alex’s friend. This is Paul’s friend. Please watch the entire case before adding Ill-informed commentary!
Yes, like the Ramsey’s with their daughter Jon Benet, they sure did raise hell looking for their daughters killer, the stupid Boulder police didn’t bother to look outside the family, but by god the family tried to find her killer, the Mr Ramsey still is. I really hope they do find him before Mr Ramsey passes on 🙏♥️
@@atonement7232 it could be a her too! The letter was said by experts to be more the hand of a female with the expressions used. The letter addressed personal info on the finances. like the exact amount of the bonus. Who would know that outside the family? Unless a worker working at the house overheard that?? I believe it was a close friend of one of the workers. The worker bragged working at that house and they were wealthy and that he overhead the father talk about the bonus to his wife. That is why it was difficult to get the killer. They cleared the workers but not the friends and associates of the workers. The police had tunnel vision and focused on the family and quickly cleared everyone else.
@Dan we are all innocent until proven guilty…..All I said was after theses deaths no one came forward to want to find who did this..If I was accused and didn’t do it and before I was arrested.I would want to find who ever did this. All the money he had he could of hired ppl to clear his name.If he didn’t pull trigger.I feel he knows who did…..
A lot of arrogant aholes like to surround themselves by timid and weak people because they don't question their actions or speak up. He could be a nice guy. It would be like blaming a rape victim who is too scared to come forward.
These were hunting dogs, working dogs, not house pets. Not to say Maggie didn’t care for them. They just live more of a dog’s life, but many are loved. (Honestly, though, if Alex was responsible for them the poor dogs probably did have a lousy life.)
@Tara Mcgavan is that a horse in a field. Where it walks about its own turds all day ? What kind of life is it for you to keep a horse contained when they should roam freeee on the prairies... abuser!! JK.. that's as absurd as your comment. The son and mom where caring for those dogs every day including exercising them.. the alternative to this man not being able to care for the dog is to dump it at a shelter. His friend was caring for his dog. The dog had other dogs, and space to run. Get over yourself.
@@holylandfan3275 they are hunting dogs which is very common. They have to stay penned up or else they will run off after an animal such as a deer, hog, raccoon, etc and either get hurt, lost or picked up by someone else and never returned. It is not cruel and most of the time they are well taken care of. They are not bred to be friendly house dogs or companions but to track, hunt and retrieve or kill whatever species they are bred for hunting.
I wish the trial was broken up into parts like this video. Thank you to whomever did this.!! On another note great testimony by this young man. By far one of the more powerful witnesses yet. The SnapChat video 😬😬 just golden evidence.!!
Absolutely so brave. This would've been the equivalent of this young man testifying against his own flesh and blood, seeing as the Murdaugh's were like his second family, and yet he has the integrity to speak the truth against this powerful corrupt family. The prosecutor did a fantastic job developing and gaining relevant information about just how close this witness actually was to the Murdaugh's, and therefore leaving no doubt in the jury's mind that he would know each of the family members voices
I agree with most of your comment. His crossed arms etc. massive body language going on. When it comes to him feeling "close" like second family is the issue for me. He had no problem being a part of what they were and are. The corruption, murdering, narcissist, racist, sexist, homophobic, abusive s entitled ppl. doesn't speak well of him. Monsters exist and those who encourage, support,do the same things & could care less about consequences. The community allowed the horrific things this family did. It is wrong every single time. Just don't feel bad for him. He is a part of this corrupt family.
Lets hold up on calling it a corrupt family. The mother from all accounts was a decent woman, the sons were a little wild but all young men can be and people usually surround themselves with similar character friends..... this young man seems like a great person, so that tells you something about the sons character. Don't judge a son by the sins of his father.
@@bennypit4411- Exactly. Many seem to be blaming the entire family. Seems to me the family members were the victims of one person. If the jury finds the allegations to be true then he deserves the maximum sentence. But people must not understand our constitution… that all are presumed innocent until found guilty.
@@bennypit4411 did you hear the 911 call when the housekeeper died? Maggie sounded like a complete b**ch and had zero empathy for the woman dying right in front of her. If anything, she sounded pissed at the inconvenience 🙄
It brought tears to my eyes to learn that Rogan never received the video he was waiting on from Paul. Paul made the video for his friend, but was murdered before he could send it. Paul was a good friend to be concerned when he noticed a bad place on Rogan's dog's tail and then contacted Rogan about it. Also this informs us as to pretty much the exact time Paul and mom Maggie were murdered, because why else would the video not get sent? Paul knew his friend was concerned about Cash and waiting on the video. So sad.😔
I Like how Paul Bestfriend stated I'm a 100% sure that's Alex voice on the Facetime video. Even though Paul friend couldn't rescue him at the murder scene , He got the chance to speak and put Paul and Maggie killer away for life. The Family deserves to know the truth of their demise that Facetime video sealed his fate.
Hearing the testimony of Paul’s character and his habit of losing things or leaving items everywhere brings tears to my eyes. My deceased grandson did the same. He was murdered in December of 2020 he was not involved with gangs nor drugs. They still haven’t found his murderers

What a sweet young man. I love how Rogan knew so much about Paul and his family. How close they all were. Bless Rogan for his testimony. I pray that his heart will be healed one day.
Ok, ok, lots of guns. Easy access to the property. But I highly doubt a random person just walked up & shot 2 people and left. Nothing stolen. Come On.
Exactly. I honestly, throughout the whole case, thought this was a dud case. I was certain he had some hand in it, but I really didnt know how the state could put him at the scene. Then prosecution busted out the cellphone and gps data. ...then THE VIDEO BY THE SON before he was murdered?!! Alex is a disgusting creature, the way he can lie about EVERYTHING. Now he seems to be implying drugs made him do it...
To be honest with you I couldn’t hear his voice that clearly, I could hear Maggie and Pauls voices very clearly, but I believe this young man when he says he knows it is Alex’s voice.
@@atonement7232 its not so much his voice as his voices Tone. Almost nasally for example, if you listen to Alec answer a question, then that clip, its the exact same "Tone" in my opinion.
This young man and his dog pretty much helped solve the murder of his friend. God was watching over that scene that night. He should always remember him and his dog helped put the murderer in prison. Paul took that picture at the right time. How strange. RIP 🙏🙏🙏
So strong but so hurting from the loss of his dear friend Paul. He seemed to be staring at Alex most of the time during his testimony. So believable great testimony..
There is nothing brave about this. As Judge Judy says, if you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything. She actually borrowed that from Mark Twain. Meanwhile, do you think he is brave as he could be set up for a hit by AM?
Paul, the murdered son, actually grinned and smiled when law enforcement was interviewing him about the boating incident the night Mallory was killed. I believe Alex’s sons had no consequences for their actions just as Alex was raised the same way.
It was the video that Paul took, just four and a half minutes before his death, that nailed down the murderer more than anything else. When Alec finally admitted to being there just minutes before their deaths, how did he explain those four and a half minutes? Did he say that he drove to the house? How long does it take to drive to the house? Did he not hear the several gunshots? Gunshots in the country, at night, can be heard for miles.
There's no way in hell Alex didn't hear the a shotgun or rifle firing if he was on the property out there in the sticks at night. A Monday night. Whether Alex was the shooter (he likely was) or not, he was there when they were killed.
The great south and all it riches derived from enslaving humans that still have not received justice for the hundreds of years of torture and trauma inflicted upon them. 😒

Just trying to imagine the horror of knowing that you are communicating with your friend moments before he is slaughtered. To think he was having a continuous conversation and was going to hear from him in a few minutes when he was gone.
We have a farm and timberland in the country. It’s legal to kill hogs during the day and night. Wild hogs eat anything, especially young fawns. They are very destructive. Once hogs destroy the under forrest, it takes a 100 years for the timber to grow back and vegetation to be re-established. Feral hogs multi so fast, they can have up to 27 piglets in 1 year. It’s so bad, that the Game Wardens and Natchez Trace Rangers have permission to kill them. This young man testifying, seems like a very nice young man.
@@lorimiller4301 Hogs can decimate crops. Shooting is actually more humane that a few of the other ways hunters/farmers use to protect their livelihoods.
Cold, calculated, planned murder of his family. This testimony is so incriminating. It gives the timeline as well as the fact that Alex was there with the two victims. This friend did a great job on the witness stand.
This guy is going to be a huge reason there will be a guilty verdict. Kids are always, & I mean always recording everything, which is going to be the nail in the coffin.
No embellishment here. This young man just laid it out there truthfully and as factually as possible. Paul has never been described as a good character but I would say he had at least one good friend. Within seconds of that face time being sent two people were murdered - 8.48 pm.
I felt so sorry for this young man, Paul was his best friend. He loved the whole Murdough family and he was so brave and honest while on the stand. My heart went out to him.
@@Anaana-jl5kg That's a narcissist for ya. Alex will go to his grave lying & denying. He didn't give a single thought to what he's put all these folks through. It's only about him. His plight. His fate. He didn't give a thought to anybody else or their pain & sadness.
I would have like to see his families faces when you hear him (AM) on the video. This young man would know the voices he heard. He was like a father to him, he would recognize his voice, and did.

@@fabledfantasty7343 When i said there is a lot to say about paul, i meant that paul had defintely fault in someone losing their life. I admire your low IQ and insensitive thinking and maybe we should all hope and pray you wont get on a boat when you're black-out drunk because your view on life is so slim it could might happen again. Anyway i thought that three minutes before paul was murdered he was in a feed room heading towards a face to face with his own dad with a gun. Not on a boat. I observed pauls last minutes on earth. Not his minutes on the boat. The boy (a boy, didnt even had a chance to reach proper adulthood) never had a chance to be properly punished for his crimeful deeds, never had a chance to face his own actions because his dad took away his future to build on forgiveness, punishment or anything. Paul could had devoted his life to be better than that day, to honour mallory proper, but now there is nothing you Will knop about that because he is dead. Cut him some slack.
I think it's important to point out that even though Alec (Alex) seems to have shown signs of grief after the murders that is NOT a sign of innocence. Lots of murderers show signs of deep grief and even remorse. In so far as him being loving to Maggie and Paul, I still think it is completely feasible for him to have been the killer. I think it wore the raincoat. He had a change of clothes in the vehicle. He found some hidey hole for the weapons and the clothing. This was a planned murder. Not spur of the moment. His presence at the kennel 6 minutes before the murders leaves almost no time at all for anyone else to have done it. I don't want to think he's the killer, but the facts say he is.
Her sister says under oath that he told her that whoever had done this had thought about it a long time. That can be interpreted many ways, but I agree with you.
I thought his saying that it must have Been planned for a,very long time was odd. I wonder if it was another one of his lies... And that it hard not been planned for a long time but for a fairly short time. I guess she did not ask him why he thought that but I thought, during v her testimony, that she was very suspicious of Alex and thought he might not be innocent.
Alex was not honest with anyone since 2005. It's all been lies - business associates, legal partners, clients, family & friends. His 'love of family' was a show.
I think Paul was confiscating ...alexs 'pills...must've ticked alex off pretty bad...alex was in a frenzy for sometime as his world started spinning out of control....
I’m in favour of the population being armed but to have a rifle stolen out of your truck at a bar should land you in JAIL! To be so lax with weapons is ridiculous
I was starting to get worried for the prosecution being able to secure a guilty verdict. I believe this testimony will convict Alex, for sure. I was born and am back living about 15 mins from Islandton. My Grandfather knew Buster Sr, and my attorney was friends with all of them. There was a lot of power in that family. It’s sad so many people died as a result of what that power actually cost. Everyone else only knows about the headlines. This brave young man sounds like he spoke with love about the family.
It was widely reported before Paul passed away that he was a big jerk. I heard about his alter- ego, Timmy that came out when he was drinking. Now I’m hearing all good things about all of them. If you go by what it looks like, they just kill people if it benefits them. The housekeeper mysteriously fell down a flight of steps Alec got that money, the boy killed on the road that was tied into the Murdaughs, Mallory Beach was a very careless accident and Paul had zero remorse that night smiling at the scene etc. The latest casualties are Paul and Maggie for obvious reasons. It makes me wonder just who Buster is?
I think Buster was dating the young guy who was killed in a hit and run a year or so previous to the boat accident. I don’t think being gay was acceptable.
His wife and son destroyed a 300 year old legacy. The boating accident and whoever else he killed(maid and brother's lover) wife was going to divorce him and take everything, his father was on his death bed....everything was falling apart and he killed the two that in his mind were the cause of all of it!
She didn't destroy anything. She was married to him. She didn't even get out alive. And they don't give her anything. He'd hide it and have a team of lawyers after her.
His younger son was the bigger concern for him as with the pending lawsuit would potentially wipe out all the wealth of the whole family. He was trying to preserve what he could for the more responsible older son. The wife was filing for divorce. You are right they needed to go!
His financial records were about to be exposed in the civil suit brought by Mallory Beech’s family and the other 2 hurt in the boat accident and a divorce would have required a financial accounting of all their assets and businesses. He was trying to run from a certain prison term only to guarantee that he’ll be spending the rest of life in prison. That’s Alec’s logic, anyways. I’m waiting on the results of the investigation for Gloria and Stephen, too. I actually believe they were both killed, as well. If Buster Jr had anything to do with Stephen’s death, then that whole family was wiped out in one fell swoop.
I honestly feel for this man.i find him to be very matter of fact and honest imo. I can't imagine growing up with close friend who is killed soon after talking to them that is painful to imagine for any loved ones as they were family to him. He seems a genuine guy.
Fantastic State Prosecutor -- well paced questioning. Hope State will provide protection for all key witnesses -- like the housekeeper yet to be present to give testimony.
Everyone judging the character of Paul’s friend here, simply because he was friends with Paul - if you’re going to judge one, judge them all, including everyone who was partying on the boat that night. EVERYONE.
I cannot imagine how he must feel knowing now that most likely when he was trying to get in touch with his friend that his friend & his mother were being murdered.
Every news clip has been talking about how this young man’s testimony, sealed Alex’s faith. Lord he made me cry… he had nothing bad to say about the entire family. I think Alex is guilty and I felt so sorry for his friend.
Alex was a criminal: a sociopath, narcissist without empathy or compassion for the people he ruined - everybody in his web were poisoned by him. Don't think he would have had much remorse killing his wife and son if it was "good"for him. Feeling sorry for him? Don't think so - I feel sorry for all the people who he conned manipulated and used.
Great job, Rogan! What a painful painful loss and position to be in. I notice he’s staring down AM for what he knows he did to his best friend and Miss Maggie and the whole clan!
