I loved Paul Newman. He was a legend. A great relationship. Joanna was absolutely right the ability to make your partner laugh is key to a wonderful relationship. I know because its why my own marriage has lasted since 1979. I make my husband laugh and he makes me laugh...secret of success. Its true.
No sir, you were more than a good looking man Paul, you had a big heart and you remembered the less fortunate, and did something about it. The world is a better place because of people like you.
Paul Newman was a great actor and a wonderful human being. RIP I'm so glad that Paul Newman and his lovely wife Joanne Woodward were happy together for such a long time. They happened to sit next to me in the bar of a hotel in Paris in 1990, while "Mr and Mrs Briggs" was being shot. They just looked so right together. He was a cheater and married his mistress, his 3 children from his first marriage took a brutal turn during that time. His son became an alcoholic and alcoholic, came to over dose because of his fathers fame and lifestyle. It effected the older child dearly.
My Mom ALWAYS said, " If he can make you laugh alot and keep you laughing, YUP THAT'S HIM!" My parents were married for only 24 years, my Dad passed at age 48, my my was a widow at 44....AND YES HE MADE HER LAUGH, LAUGH AND LAUGH!! They LOVED each other so! She still smiles and LAUGHS 40 years later when she talks about our Dad😍💖
What a wonderful, loving couple they were. We miss Paul and we understand Joanne has Alzheimer's now, at age 88, and doesn't remember Paul but still talks to him at times! They had a terrific lot of years together, and I'm sure they worked at it, which you need to do to keep it working well. Bless them both!

The Newman's daughter went to college in the town where I live in Maine and Paul and Joanne visited her a couple of times a year. I never heard anyone make anything other than a positive comment about the couple! Nice people! And as an ex sports car driver I was simply in awe of Paul's racing talent!
Paul Newman was an extraordinary person but so was his wife. I think the secret was that they never forgot where they came from. It's amazing what be achieved with Newman's Own and he never made a big deal of the fact that he raised hundreds of millions of dollars to help others.

I think he was the most gorgeous looking man in Hollywood hands down, not only was he a pretty face in his prime but boy did he have a heart too, he did so much for the people bless his heart. They made a perfect couple.

I' m pretty positive he feels the same about her. Despite his beauty, he never appeared to be a vain man.He appreciated her earthiness, warmth and humour. Strong love there!
She probably would have been adored by any man she married. He just may not have been as handsome. She clearly had a great personality it wasn't luck. Wonderful couple Paul Newman well he has been in my front room on tele dad and moms to when i was a small boy . We see in the uk his movies over and over again , at 72 years now myself i still cannot see enough of his many movies. Thank you to his father and mother, Bob uk.
Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward were royal Hollywood, but they were smart, and moved to Connecticut to get away from a world they knew could pollute them! It's how they had a successful career AND marriage! Paul Newman died about 11 years ago, Joanne is 89 now, and we understand, has Alzheimer's Disease, but she has family who support and care for her, and that's about all we can expect at the end of our lives. A lovely, very talented lady she was and we wish her last years to be happy ones for her.

I did...but my parents...denied that young man...from a love that lasted 48 yrs...without us ever being together...yet longing for each other...till he found me....We were able to talk...for several months...I flew to the state he lived in ( I had at one time as well without knowing it )...I waited .... to hear from him... Two weeks later I found out ..he had been murdered.... His last words to me were...If I never get to hold your hand here, I promise you I will hold your hand..forever ..in eternity..........and so .....I wait......
It is so inspiring and wonderful to hear when a person such as Paul Newman, a giant of an actor, one of the handsomest people ever to grace this earth, lives such a decent life, is never in any scandal and leaves a legacy of humanitarian efforts that changed lives. I’m 73 yrs old and I’ve met only two couples who were truly made for each other. One couple held hands until she passed. The other passed away one year apart.
Ive watched Newman's more recent work and he looked just like my grandfather so i looked up Newman's pics when he was in his 20's and 30's and he is indistinguishable from my grandfather at the same age. I got chills.

Gigi,. TCM has a documentary about Paul Newman that tells about movie director making a movie in black and white but after seeing Paul's eyes he changed the movie to color. I can not remember the name of the movie. Although I am a man I appreciate his stunning look.

So i apologize, but these days, there are a lot of them around provoking people to have an argument for no good reason. About Paul Newman being gay or not, you can only find shit like this on "gossip" websites, which obviously create the worst image of every one. Yes i've heard of /and have no problem imagining many actors live a "double life" but Paul died at age 83, how' come none of these gossip allegations were ever captured on camera? Just because a gossip website creates an image of someone (so they can attract more "shit loving" people and therefore make more money) it doesn't mean they're telling the truth. I've always loved Paul & Joanne in movies together or separately, & Paul and Bob Redford were movie magic. It's the summer or 1964 and on a great Atlantic City weekend with a bunch of my friends and eating those amazing hot greasy salty french fries on the boardwalk in front of the old famous convention hall during the Democratic Convention The crowd was electric because Paul & Joanne were there! I saw and wlked over and flirted with a lovely young women standing near me who like me was 18 yrs old. Making the usual introductory small talk she gave me perhaps the nicest,most sweetest, flattering compliment ever..... This young beauty said, do you know who you look like, except for eye color(my eyes were hazel not blue) A YOUNG PAUL NEWMAN ! When my head cleared I thanked her and said if we were a little older I'd ask you to marry me and she responded by saying if we're older I WOULD SAY YES ! I love hearing stories like this about how couples who have been with each other for a very long time met at first and it wasn't all "love at first sight" typical stuff.... Happened with me and my beloved Fiance... He has been vegan for over 20 years and when I was talking with him (online) I was eating just about any kind of meat I wanted occasionally.. Being athletic and into yoga I didn't think it was so bad... Then I met him on Facebook and attempted to challenge him, bragging about how I was making Greek lamb (!!!one of the cutest babies on Earth!!!) to see if I could disgust or intimidate him... You know how we don't have as warm regard for people we just meet on line and don't really "know"? Well.... He did not play into it. Instead he just hit me with deep and profound love and thoughtfulness... He challenged me to bring my yoga up another notch and try eating vegan.... not just eating vegan.. GOING vegan..... And I accepted his challenge. I had no idea how much it would awaken me to how cold and distant I was being. Once I was about 10 months in, I began to realize how cruel and calloused my heart had been by cognitive dissonance. The power of his beautiful big heart has enhanced the power of my love. I am still going strong with being vegan and loving him unrelentingly over 2 years now and have no intention of going back. I'll eat "pond scum" every day to keep my muscles and have cut out onion and garlic from 90% of my meals! However, I am I am considered to be what is called a "US citizen" and he is in Australia, considered to be a "Australia/EU citizen"... But look here... Even though money is the root of all evil, I now have a righteous reason to need to make and save a lot of money. Sewing seeds of love with my work to earn and save to reunite with my beloved. I thank God I do not need or wish to take off my clothes to get the money and instead share the wisdom and healing of yoga.

Too bad Hollywood couples are not like them anymore.People seem to take Divorce so lightly now days,when it gets hard they run. I don’t think my husband ever heard this quote from Paul Newman about his lovely bride, Joanne. But, there was a very cute, young girl at my husband’s job who liked to flirt with him. He never paid her any mind. I didn’t even know about her until I had to pick him up from work one day. He wasn’t even looking at her, but she was looking at him as they came out of the building. She had a flirtatious air about her and gave him a sexy smile and said “See you on Monday, Jack.” You know that look when a woman’s interested. He got in the car and gave me a big kiss and smiled at me like he’d been waiting for that all day. When we got home, ate dinner and just talked to each other about our day. I mentioned to him about that girl at work. He said “What girl?”. Me: “You know.....the one who said she’d see you on Monday. Do you ever feel tempted? She IS a pretty girl.” With a reassuring look on his face, he said “Baby, why would I go out for hamburger when I can have the best steak in town right here at home?” I was just stunned with that response! Needless to say, he got his “steak” that night!
