The real reason they fired Paul pierce in my opinion is because he didn’t stay on code and D-ride lebron. I remember when Paul made a statement on air saying that he was tired of talking about lebron every day and it’s been downhill from that point. They obviously couldn’t fire him for that reason but they were looking for a reason and that instagram shit gave them an out and they took it. Paul was expendable either way but Shannon was bringing in the money so they can’t let him go. None of this is fact this is just my opinion.

When Paul went live he was visibly impaired and clearly was under the influence of weed and alcohol, he chose to brag and proceed to film the activities that were in play at his house such as gambling, women who had thongs on partially naked and other men who were glorifying in these depraved acts. He also proceeded to say " don't hate yall see what it is" so at which point ESPN had no other choice but to terminate his employment, keeping him with the company meant they would have condoned this behavior and supported his actions, which I'm sure Paul signed a code of conduct clause which he violated when posting the video on IG live. Shannon's situation wasn't anywhere remotely similar to Paul's IG post, Shannon's while cringe and scathing didn't imply someone who was arrogant or narcissistic and the situation was handled in the proper context even if his publicist said he was hacked and Shannon later went on night cap to diss miss the initial statement by his team of being hacked, he clearly was forth coming with the earlier IG live video. Even with the humor being used as a buffer by Chad and himself, Shannon was aware of the seriousness of ignorance and understood how crucial it was to be as transparent as possible.
