@ryanmcpherson1997 hmmm I don't know, has he even looked impressive in the games he's played? I'm legit asking, I don't get Steelers games except primetime so I only have seen clips
@@ryanmcpherson1997 kinda dude had 2000 yards before he got hurt and look at his TDs and also I rewatched the games he’s been in he’s 80 percent of the time misses his open receivers so ya hurt or not Kenny isn’t the “GUY” and if Wilson doesn’t join us I rather go with Mason because least he’s playing with nothing to lose 👏🏽
Watching prime Ben against the legion of doom sucked lol thank you Russell for taking advantage of this qbless team we've been dealing with now let's it somebody on the outside to help tj out.
Leave it to ESPN to pay people hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars, and they get everything wrong where a kid with a keyboard is more accurate 😂
@@jakjones8680 no it’s because Sean Payton didn’t hire Russ so he n ver wanted him. They leave off conveniently how Sean sabotaged the end of the season. Russ could’ve had 30tds
@@TechTualChatter do you know the back story why Sean didn't like Russell? As a NFL COACH I can understand why Sean didn't like Russell Wilson. Just due to the reports on how Russell Wilson treated his teammates in Denver.
Sounds like a win win for both the Steelers and Wilson.Wilson gets the chance to once again shine and the Steelers get an opportunity to increase their success and at a bargain.Russ needs and deserves a coach that believes in him and will utilize his talents. And I’d love to see the Steelers shake up the NFL.
If anything that Broncos team was coming alive on the back half of the schedule and they benched him in order to try and save money in case he got hurt.. Russ was not the problem last year and Steelers are getting him for bare minimum.. thats a win
@@SteelCurtainGaming Yeah you clearly didn't watch the broncos playing. Russell can't throw in the middle of the field, can't read a defense, can't throw too his right and is gun shy. I'm sick of people just saying stuff.
If Wilson plays at the very minimum the way he did in Denver then the Steelers could be scary good this year. This was a no brainer for a franchise in desperate need of a competent qb. He doesn't need to be a star, he just needs to be ok and they can win 12 games with the team they had.
You'd think getting traded from Seattle, where he won exactly nothing in the years after that defense broke up, would have given little Rusty a chip on his shoulder going to Denver. It sure didn't seem to. Or maybe it did, but he was just too washed to do anyting abou it? Let's weld!
It's bigger than that but not too many spaces are talking about it... I'll give sean peyton the one non pass interference call in the playoffs but, let's be honest, he didn't really do anything in all those years that he had drew brees except that one year...and that season was marred by the bounty scandal. He had, arguable by some, an upper echelon passing qb on his team for all those years and has had One sb appearance to show for it. They did win but that's pretty lackluster considering how much the media poishes him. Don't forget, the saints are still in purgatory wity the cap, due to his mishandling of it. I know russ made his mistakes but it's WILD how much peyton gets to have this kind of...like you don't hear much criticism of the guy like you should.
Better than Pickett -- Yes. But Better than Burrow, Lamar -- No. Better than Watson? Those are just the QB1s in his division. Tough road to contention.
@@joelbland5239he’s better than Watson no doubt, he’s a better throwing QB then Lamar and if he takes off this year like 2020 or 2019 Russ then yeah he’s right there with burrow but it’s all speculation
This is not the first time fans hear about a HC not liking a QB when they take the job. There is something that we the fans do not know what goes on in the locker room and when they away from the team facility. These ex-players now more or less what is going on with a player they just aren't allowed to speak on it on National TV.
Well what does that say about the Steelers qb room? After all he has been through with the Seahawks and Denver they still decided to sign him😂😂😂that should let you know everything about the faith in kp
I think it's a good pickup for the Steelers. However, I would have liked to see Rudolph get a chance. He looked pretty good for the sample size he was given.
Shannon is not allowed to make a Mahomes reference when he was making his initial statements on the Mahomes selection in the draft and mocking the Chiefs organization for making a "dumb" decision for taking him and sitting him for a year to learn from Alex Smith.
That was literally half of the chiefs fanbase that said that…..if that’s the case go tell all these analysts and the fans on social media that they’re not allowed to talk about Russell Wilson because in 2022 they said he’s washed and now all of a sudden they got his back
He’s allowed to say whatever he wants when he got podcast of the year 😂 realistically ain’t nobody care what you have to say when compared to Shannon. And people are allowed to change their mind. that’s not some breaking new concept
Baker Mayfiled: 4044 yds, 28td, 10int 94.6 rtg. "100million dollar man and is a starter for years to come" Russel Wilson: 3070 yds, 26td, 8int 98.0 rtg "1 year prove yourself deal and lucky if he beats out Kenny Pickett"
Russell Wilson was done dirty in Denver by ownership and Sean Payton. Their offensive scheme was the worst one they could have possibly instituted considering Wilson's skillsets and he still had a good season last year despite their offensive line being a carousal of injuries. Ownership proved they didn't want him when they approached him mid-season to either drop his injury clause or bench him and then Wilson ripped off a 5 game winning streak. Steelers are going to be credited for finding a diamond here.
The extent of Dan’s analysis is Wilson’s TD/INT ratio. What a joke. Anyone who saw him play could see how limited he is; how he couldn’t find reads, couldn’t execute most of the playbook.
What is a joke is people like you parroting the same nonsense. If you had a head coach utilizing an offensive scheme that uses Wilson's strengths he wouldn't be making 5'11" Wilson try to look downfield over his offensive linemen's heads. If you had a head coach utilizing an offensive scheme that uses Wilson's strengths he wouldn't be forced to look downfield and then thrown an outlet pass for 3 yards as his 3rd read. Payton's schemes were awful for Wilson and if any of you understood the game you'd know this instead of state nonsense like you do.
@@RobRochonPayton wanted Russ to play like brees which isn’t his playstyle Russ doesn’t have a real playstyle he’s an offset QB who created plays in Seattle that were not designed And if you understood those two points you’d say that instead of what you typed
@@richardmatthews2807 I watched Russell in every game he played in Seattle, and to say that he doesn't have a playstyle is completely wrong. His playstyle was quick release slants, drop back for the deep ball, throws off of run/option, and designed roll outs so he doesn't have to look over the helmets of his offensive line. You don't know what you're talking about like the OP. Clearly.
Sometimes? He's awful all the time. Give the show to Shannon and let him pick a co host. SAS and DO aren't great. But Unc is talented at this. And I'm no Shay Shay fan. But the truth is the truth. Dude is good at the content game.
That’s cause Shannon is a company man lol his takes are almost always on the side of teams, it’s always “why would they move from ___” as an assumption that it’s always the players fault lol
steelers need to fire their gms...for failure to replace big ben..they had like 5 seasons to do such....2 while he was their..and the past 3 or 4 that he hasn't...
What I'm starting to notice& get annoyed by w/ Shannon is his inability to concede a point and admit that he's wrong in his assessment. Why is Shannon so invested in the narrative that Russ is washed... Better question why does he hold the weight of 2 old yt coaches that they themselves haven't won anything recently as well, Carroll/Payton, over what many including Dan O is seeing on the field... It feels like many analysts on these shows let their personal feelings and biases dictate their analysis
@@PatientBoatno qb had success under matt canada. he looked like a different player the game and a half he played without canada. so many casual boxscore watchers havent actually watched steelers football and i know this because i do watch them and the offense has been unwatchable for many years now. russ is more of what we saw with canada except under an all time great head coach like sean payton who then took a historic cap hit to get him out.
2:33 but not really. Some people aren't in-tuned to ALL OF FOOTBALL acquisitions.. Can we let the women live? I mean, we have more realistic arguments about what she and these other women be and or had said. 😂😂😂
I’d would’ve rather had Fields. I think Russell will take a lot of sacks behind our line. Russell is a safe risk for 1 year, but I hope we draft some help on both lines.
@@joshuahodge8804Fields isn’t the problem in Chicago. They will find that out when they draft Williams and ruin his first few years. They brought in Chase Claypool after he “Antonio Browned” his way off the Steelers and that’s not help. They haven’t built around Fields. That’s an owner, GM and coaching problem.
@@DamonHardin they literally got Fields DJ Moore who’s a solid number 1 receiver. They also have a good tight end and quality running backs. Fields isn’t good.
Dan clearly didn't watch enough Broncos games last year. Russ had a great TD-Int ratio but he was still missing way too many open receivers and couldn't see the middle of the field. The offense was choppy, a ton of 3 yard passes and the occasional bomb to Courtland Sutton. He's obviously better than Pickett, but saying he's a top 12 Quarterback means you are looking at his stats and not the actual game tape.
If you had a head coach utilizing an offensive scheme that uses Wilson's strengths he wouldn't be making 5'11" Wilson try to look downfield over his offensive linemen's heads. Still better than all the QBs the Stealers had. How about that? Were they, the Stealers, supposed to idle by and watch Russ go to another franchise? Or make moves for a better chance at winning? 🤔
Finally a smart comment in this thread... not to mention Arthur Smith loves throwing in the middle of the field which is a MAJOR weakness in RW's game. If anything, Sean Payton was the sole reason why Russell Wilson looked as good as he did last year.
Thank you for speaking the truth. It took me so long to find the correct information. Everyone looks at 26 TDs & 8 INTs. Saying he was a top 12 QB last year is crazy. It reminds me of when they said the Broncos would be contenders when they first signed Russ.
unc clearly didn't watch the steelers last year. we were literally only a decent qb away from contention. defense is great with a lead. run game is good. all we needed was a guy to push the ball downfield and play efficiently.
So does Denver only have to pay this one year if Russell Wilson’s contract or is there more money? I’m really hoping for a revenge season for Russ in Pittsburgh. I think there’s a lot of good football left in him and a coach like Tomlin will pick him up rather than just wait to see him fall or fail if that’s what’s coming. Definitely won’t throw all the problems of the team on the back of the QB and say “it’s not on me if this doesn’t work” the first press conference of the season.
Russ is done, props for a great career but let’s be real The Steelers are in one of the toughest divisions and should look for their future qb instead of again having the one of the worst qbs come playoffs
It's so weird how these Analyst, reporters and owners disrespect these NFL players.........The NBA players seem to be valued and respected more! just a random thought!
So true!!! Want them to play for less money so billionaire owners can profit more while they sacrifice their bodies😢 All of them want bigger and bigger contracts...it really hurts when former athletes get these jobs and forget their past. They sell their souls to the highest bidder🤑
What an awful signing. Russ is WASHED UP! He's coming off his worst season in passing yards and has shown he lost arm strength. Go watch highlights with Seahawks and he was slinging the ball 60-70 yds without a problem... his longest throws were barely 50 with the Broncos. Russ is WASHED UP! The boos will be louder in Pittsburgh!
Love how SA tried to give him his flowers and get him hyped about his own accomplishment! Even if he didn’t know it was supposed to be shared yet and tried to rebound. True friendship
I don't think '22 was just a down year for Wilson. I don't think Broncos would've willingly shot themselves dead for the next few years if it was just a "bad year."
