I started playing lacrosse in 6th grade, and my first game was a summer league game and i didn't know the first thing about the sport. After nonstop days hitting the wall, shooting at paper targets on a fence, and getting better with my off hand, i am now a freshman starting varsity at midfield. all you have to do is practice, practice, practice. You will reach your goal... all it takes is practice.
I'm in 10th grade and this spring is gona be my first time playing lacrosse. I'm so nervous cuz the guys on the team get super mad and annoyed when first year players mess up. But after seeing your story it definitely gave me some more inspiration to practice more and get a little more confidence.
Just keep at it. I know how u feel because I was a first year recently and it sucks to get yelled at. Keep hitting the wall, practice your cradling and take some shots when you can and I guarantee that you'll get better
Yeah I do wall ball every day. I think my problem is going to have to deal with my teammates always yelling at me at how I suck. Thanks for the tips though guys
TheIndiDUDE I'm in grade 10 as well and its my first year joining lacrosse but the team I'm playing for the players suck so I'm not too worried! I'm sure you'll do good man
I have been playing lax since I was in kindergarten and my first ever game I played goalie. I was this little dood and I scored my first goal.....on myself. I basically just quit and told my coach to not put me in ever again and I wanted to quit. I was inspired by my sister and I decided to try another season. I have now been playing for 9 years and I play attack. I want to play college but don't want to go pro. And btw my number is #99 to lol. I now am super excited that lax is starting up in 3 days and I want to improve myself every day
I've wanted to play lacrosse since I was in the 7th grade, we just never had any teams. I'm now a junior in highschool and I play varsity on a first year team, pretty awesome
I'm in 7th grade and I've been wanting to play lacrosse for about a year now. I was skeptical at first because there are some really mean kids on the team that I would be playing for but a lot of my friends (who are on the same team) are helping me out. But, after seeing this, I am a lot more inspired. And if anybody actually reads this, what would a good starter stick be?
If you've never played I'd look at the complete sticks dicks has. The Nike Blur complete is a pretty good starter stick and it runs about $40USD. Just find a wall or someone to play catch with and get the hang out passing with BOTH hands and cradling.
I've been playing lacrosse for 4 years now and my first stick was a stx amp my stick I have now is rabil 2 x with throne mesh with a combat shaft and if you go to my IG (lacrosse) and message me I will string your head for 10$ so if anyone reads this tell everyone you know
Kinda similar to me tbh! But I didn't want to play when I was younger cuz I didn't want to disappoint my coach! But I stuck with it and super happy I did
I'm starting lacrosse next year. I'm really excited but kinda worried because I might not be as experienced as everyone else. But I have a whole summer to practice and get ready for lacrosse season to start. Is there anything I should look into besides practicing ?
+mystical kgo I would say just look at other people/other players and watch games. That's what I'm doing, I'm still learning. Paul's workouts and shooting drills are really awesome too. :)
Listen, most am in 7th grade and I'm on the u 11 army ants, best team in the Midwest. I suggest you hitting the wall and practicing throw and catch first
Went to the school he transferred out of. Hated it. Should've followed in his footstep because the school is still exactly like he says. Still did exceptionally well in that league all four years on varsity
lol funny story i was playing u 11 a and it was our first game and we were on a man up and i was on the field and no one was on me so i just chucked it from the restraining line and it went right through the goalies legs... It was really lucky but cool
I actually played for the Montgomery Village lacrosse team in elementary and middle school and its kind of sad that Paul probably doesn't even know they're not in existence anymore. MVSA shut down the boys lacrosse program 2 years ago because no one wanted to be the commissioner and no one wanted to play for them.
You parents sound awesome, my parents dont allow me to play lacrosse because its a distraction from school, stupid stuff like that. I wish I was like you.
I want to play lacrosse next year its freshman year and I don't know what to buy for next year Because I want to practice a lot over the summer so I don't look like pleb can someone help me choosing my gear?
I'm a 6th grader I have been playing lacrosse for all of my life.every time I say that I play lax they say ur to small and wimpy.and then I show them me hitting top corner every time .what I would do is go to a wall and play for hours on my off hand .i would carry the stick every where with me and now I play for 5 select teams and start every game
this is pretty disappointing Paul Rabil. When you were in 3rd grade Watkins Mill HS (down the road from your house) was putting out Div 1 lacrosse players, UNC, UMBC, Air Force, Hofstra and a few others. Saying Lacrosse was just sanctioned at the HS level when you got there is flat out wrong.. Watkins Mill was coached by a Corrigan and Chip Bonde who played at the Naval Academy and Maryland. You got picked up by Dematha, good for you...you just lost a fan in me. You are way to full of yourself. ugh...
