I used to think there was a natural limit, I don't anymore. I'm making more gains at 40 than as a teenager and i've been training since age 13 with no breaks. It really comes down to maximizing your diet, bodypart frequency, optimal volume, balancing recovery, planning, technique adjustment and just continuing to get better in every aspect.

I have been training according to the Max ot program, 4 day split for the last 6 years and I have had very good results. Have been workingout at the gym since I was 18 years old and am now 41 years old and still building muscles with Max ot. I can really recommend all natural lifters to try it.

Been reading into it after listening to this video! Do you train 1 or 2 body parts in a session? Do you do the typical 5 day split or a variation?

Max ot style worked for me as well. Heavy simple straight sets failing in the 4-6 rep range is fantastic for building density and size.

This content is amazing. So great to hear from natural bodybuilders, and older bodybuilders. And great to hear intelligent questions

love how Paul expertly explains his very logical approach. Proper no nonsense, no frills bodybuilder kinda like a Dorian Yates persona.

another great interview Kenny... I was wondering the same thing you asked (you always seem to ask the questions I have on my mind during these interviews!) - if he changed some things is it possible he would have improved over the last 4 competitions. Kenny I would love to hear you ask your natural bodybuilder guests if they agree with Paul that at 38 the goal is not to lose muscle because hypertrophy is basically finished at that point. I am a 59 year old natural competitor and I feel (hope LOL) hypertrophy can still take place, just at a much slower pace.

Love that he was able to accomplish what he did out of his home gym, just shows you don’t need all the equipment in the world!

Not sure how is it possible to do 4-6 heavy reps for biceps, triceps, delts and calves - those body parts that aim to do more high rep ranges.

Why wouldn't it be possible. You just take a weight you can do 4-6 reps with maxed out. That's it. I've been seeing the best gains in my life 4-8 sets per week per muscle. I'm intermediate and I've lifted 10 reps on bench with 100kg but after that lowered my volume by over half. Before did 14-18 sets per muscle but couldn't recover from that obviously since my bench stalled out at that point when I knew how to push my body hard enough. So decreased to 4 per week and now I have 4-8 sets per muscle per week and making hella strength gains in 4-10 reps so it means more muscle in a long rong if in a surplus. And btw. Been training 1x per week per muscle most of the time now.

Those body parts don’t ‘aim’ anything. They respond to low reps just like any other body part.
