Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke together as Bad Company with Slash & Neal Schon performing Wishing Well. This is an old Free tune on the Heartbreaker album.
Listen....I am 60 years old, and saw Free live several times in the 70's at the Liverpool Stadium. We are so lucky that Paul Rodgers is still alive and kicking and belting out rock anthems like only he can........so much talent of that era died far too young - keep rocking Paul!!!
Hewitt Jim I'm 23, our lass is 21 and we're into all this, rock Is still alive and kicking aha, every Saturday night in Newcastle we attend a rock night at a popular bar awesome atmosphere with all the old rockers dancing
True but I still prefer Kos's playing & tone on this - check out Free's version at the Isle of Wight festival in the early 1970s on youtube - it's sublime. ;) This one is a bit too fast for my tastes too (nothing wrong with speeding up songs but the original version sounds better to me).
Always good to see comments made by free fans ,think they are real lovers of music .Been reading remarks on other videos about not likeing the video or musical snobery about when they were born .WHO GIVES A F... . listen to this mans voice ,truly a god of music .
thanks for putting this on.. still a classic and one of the best rock tunes around. i'm a queen fane, when he joined brian and roger, it was my birthday. 3 of my rock hero's together on one album..i'm alright now, baby, i'm alright now.....
I agree but for me he is THE greatest voice, bar none! Oviously everone's got their own opinion on that but for me no rock singer has ever had as much soul in their voice as Paul Rogers. He's simply the bomb!!!
Thank you for this smokin' version. God bless and keep my friend Bill "Gumby" Meloni who we lost twenty eight years ago already. This was his favorite song. Rest in Peace, my brother because you belong to the ages now as does Holbrook, Larry, Jack and Les. To you gentlemen, the friends of my youth.
To see them on my (18) birthday at the Fabulous Forum in Cali was a god send.....saw them appear one more time with the original lineup intact...took my son to see Paul an Queen at the Greek theater in 2006 Yeah!!!!!!!
Paul Rodgers, one of the finest voices in Rock n' Roll. Odd, I would have thought this was a cover of Blackfoot's song. But then, Free and Blackfoot were both very busy in the mid '70's. Personally, (and I love Paul Rodgers, don't get me wrong...) - give me that "rampant male" Rickey Medlocke and his band Blackfoot on this one... :).
+Floridabred1 it was written by Johnny Bundrick, Paul Kossoff, Paul Rodgers, Simon Kirke, Tetsu Yamauchi, part of Universal Music Publishing's catalogue. :-)
Never heard that story about Clapton and Schon, but i dont doubt it. Schon is an all time great, he is easily top 15-20 best of all time if not lower than that. I listened to him everyday for 2 years and he inspired me to play the guitar and now ive been playing for 5 years.
Hes definately up there with all the very best vocalist in the rock world. yes I grew up with Free and Bad Company and have always loved Paul Roger's sound.....................awsome singer with awsom bands. Nuff said!
@PETERILEY07 nothing better said.....voted best rock vocalist by his peers four years running in the 70's, Paul Rodgers is the best......period. Free, Bad Co., The Firm....you name the music....I'll listen! He's thee best!
Wow! I've only ever heard Blackfoot sing Wishing Well. I LOVE Paul Rodgers. Bad Company was my GO TO concert back in the day. Saw them every single time they came to Houston. Wish I had known that Paul Rodgers was on the Rock Legends Cruise last year. Damn!
hi frozenfish, I see we finally have two excellent versions of Joe Fabulous posted. I love this song, Slash and Neal give it such a rich depth and enegy to this song. Thanks for the post
Free were class, I'm 40, always listened thanks to my dad...same old story, like Zepp, Stones and Hendrix, most of the album material is removed cause of copyright, sad state of affairs.......
I'm not a big Journey fan.... but Neal Schon has to be one of the last great classic rock guitarists, right up there with Slash and a handful of others. And Paul Rodgers - one of the most underrated rock vocalists ever. And - Wishing Well is one of the absolute best albums in the classic rock canon - Free's Heartbreaker - their last ditch attempt to keep it all together. Seriously - if you're a classic rock fan, go out and buy this right now, if you haven't already done so.
This Song was written for Paul Kossoff, Free Member and one of the Best Guitarrists EVER , PR wrote it in a Time wenn Koss was very massiv Drug addicted, the Band wanted to help him with this Song , but this try failed, Saidly Koss died only a few years later , and i think that erverytime PR sings this Song , he will think on Koss with tears in his eyes. R.I.P Koss
