One of my all time favourite Free songs from the Tons of Sobs album delivered exactly the same as all those years ago by the one true blues master Paul Rodgers, the best rock and blues singer this country has ever produced.
When you consider that this concert was nearly forty years after the Free original on 'Tons Of Sobs' (recorded when Paul Rodgers was still a teenager) it is remarkable how well his voice has held up (i.e. he has kept his vocal chords in good shape, unlike many of his contemporaries). The comment below that laments the loss of some of the "soulfulness" of his voice (from his Free days) may have a point, but I would argue that all voices change with age,and that even by the time of the third Bad Company album ('Run With The Pack' in 1976),his voice did not sound quite the same as on the Free albums. It has not changed much since then, however, except that he is probably a better singer (technically speaking) now.Anyway-I think that we should all just be glad that he is still touring and sounding so good.
I think hes georgous...a real man...he was georgous back in the 70s and hes just gotten sexier, scaterchic if you find one like him please let me know :-) and can someone explain, what are "midlife crisis clothes"!!! i think he looks great!!
The lead guitarist is certainly no Koss! However, Rodgers sang the song just like back in 68. An amazing singer who has lost none of his vocal range and delivery unlike most of his generation.
There is something wrong with this hes not lip syncing there playing those instruments and there are no hip hop dancers? this will never fly. Sorry Paul
VideoRanger1: You clearly watch too many videos. It's not 'there' it's 'their'. If your that much of a putz that you don't know the difference, what are you doing here?
And where is the dj?I mean they really need to get a"real musician and artist"in the band that can write songs! And how are they going to be able to fool millions of people that they are not just playing a cd on stage but actually playing real instruments live?!I dont know its not going to be easy concidering the iq on the youth today=Minus 0.
only koss can get the guitar so right, its just not the same.! on the original when the third verse comes in with kossoff the hairs stand up on the back of your neck,he just was so right ,as all free were.
I am not sure about that. By comparison, yes, but if you compare the soulfulness in his voice of his Free and early Bad Co recordings, there is a lot missing today- it is something that disappoints me when I see these new videos of him.
nicely said videoranger. music today= shit. good god. this is amazing. paul is great, as ever. that young guitarist fucking rocks. the drummer looks cool, that whole 'traditional grip' thing going on. this is like my favorite song...oh god...getting emotional... im hoping to be playing this at the free convention some time next year. look out for that. and check out our cover of this song. it's kool.
