@@PuppyFromTheAlt It depends on what you mean by fundamental. If dems won a few key elections in the past things would look way different, but of course similar in a lot of ways. I guess what I mean is that over the course of four years of a modern dem presidency you aren't going to get a revolutionary vanguard. You will see better change though, in my opinion because Republicans are just actively cruel and insane. You don't need to develop a democrat fetish. Like I'm not even saying you should phone-bank or join destiny in his weird canvasing shit -- although I imagine there is a time place for that. There is probably things worth more your time, and very limited energy than just being team player democrat. So, at least in national stuff, your vote should be simple and for the least cruel among one party in a fundamentally two party system. It's just the 'mode' or way politics is done here, and it has so much momentum a third party is next impossible to lift up without I imagine a ton of local coalitions, and in the mean time you need something.

@@PuppyFromTheAlt That's not a contradiction. Doing *something* is good even if it doesn't *fundamentally alter the country*. The first line is talking about a paradigm shift, the latter is talking about improving the status quo. These are not even remotely contradicting each other.
