Paul's Letters | More Divisions and Paul's Non-Authority 

Paul addresses more divisions in 1 Corinthians chapter 3 and then, in chapter 4, appeals to his servanthood status. He could have easily appealed to his authority as an apostle but instead chose to talk about how despised the apostles of Christ are, and this is how they choose to live. Paul is not ashamed of Christ or the gospel, and he isn't going to let the Corinthians get away with bragging about their status.
