Possibly the best thing to come out of Thunder Bay. Paul is actually the reason I started watching Letterman in the first place. It was nice to have someone from my hometown be part of the late night landscape for so many years.

I was looking forward for this interview because Jimmy is a huge fan of Letterman and having Paul on is as close as getting Letterman here. (Letterman was my favourite host too). So glad this doesn't disappoint.

Paul Shaffer is not only an accomplished musician and entertainer, but an icon as well. He lead the original SNL Band from 1975-1980 and was the longest running late night "Orchestra" leader after Doc Severinsen.

Paul is a great guy I met him in 2004 he was attending a show. I’ve talked with Paul for along time, such great stories he told and lots of class this man has!

Some amazing performers to come out of Toronto at that time. No one connects Garber with that group. But the guy is multi-talented and has had a great career. One of the best roles in Titanic was his as well.

Its amazing that Paul and even Taylor Swift did not study music in a post secondary setting. Learn and play at the same time. It would give you the base of music theory you need to play just about anything. There is a reason it is called "classical" music.
