Taken from Series 5 Episode 1 - Bob and Paul start the series by fishing the beautiful river Exe in Devon, looking for Grilse, also known as the ‘summer silver’. After a day of limited success, they enjoy a game of cricket before having a go at some shore fishing at Bossington Beach in Somerset.

Back when I was a wee lassie my dad brought home a bucket of eels that he'd caught, I was so excited I asked him if I could carry them from the car to the house. He told me "aye, but don't drop them!" Of course I spilled them all over our front lawn so dad made me pick them all up. I was nervous at first because I thought that all eels were electric (thanks to watching cartoons 🤭) so dad had to hold one for a few seconds to show me that I'd be fine. Ah, memories. 😂❤😋

Never really gave two monkeys about fishing but have watched this glorious, whimsical achingly funny series from the start as t'were a religion. Then, after having two heart attacks last summer (because one is never enough...), I rewatched this series from a new perspective. It didn't make it funnier but I feel that bit closer to these wonderful human beings.
