Was this your first time having an Emmy and Golden Globe winning actor in your studio? I'm actually kind of fanning out on this interview cause Paul Walter Hauser is cool as hell.
Paul Hauser is one of the best actors around right now. His performance in Black Bird recently gave me chills. His transformation into Richard Jewell was mind blowing. Dude is beyond talented. So to see him get into wrestling is something I’d never expect but completely welcome.
Its so cool you getting to interview paul walter hauser phenomenal actor richard Jewell was such a good movie and i absolutely love him as sting ray in the cobra kai tv show and hes becoming a wrestler thats awesome I wish you could do more interviews with actors and actresses like this
Dudeee not enough people talk about kingdom. I remember I randomly discovered it on Netflix in 2020 and thought it was a big show. Seriously hope they revive it
In no way did it go off the rails. That show was executed by the people who made it start to finish. The plug got pulled because it was strictly owned by direct tv in a time when cable was literally in the transition period. So with that sudden news the show carried on absolute perfectly, did not miss a step. Until the very last episode where we know what happened. Even though that was never ever gonna happen if the show was to carry on like normal, it was still crazy good. Just a whole lot of “fuckk.. bro not like this” and even though it was tragic we still got an ending. And that’s still beautiful. I know the whole cast was really hoping it would gain traction and get picked back up when it was put on Netflix, if that happened I’m certain they would scrap like the last 3 episodes and carry on to the kingdom of greatness
"When a guy like Dave Bautista comes into Hollywood nobody tells him to pay his dues." That's an interesting point. As long as you take the craft seriously, it's foolish not to claim whatever opportunities you can claim.
I saw the shorts and was amazed by this interview and needed to see this. I have to say CVV having seen your rise through this industry all i can say is congrats on all of your success and wish you continued growth. Love your interviews and because you have an understanding, appreciation, and love of the industry... It really makes these interviews. Thanks for the amazing interviews.
Hahah Paul is the man! Solid good dude. He sent me a video doing the pandemic for my son where he said “I was a cool dude and he should be proud of my accomplishments”. Was really nice of him to do for a guy he didn’t know personally. Lost touch with him when the trolls went after him for reading a book and he shut down his IG for a while. Been a fan of Paul’s work for nearly over a decade when he performed in Betas. Regardless I’m happy for the guy and always there to support his work. Very underrated character actor. Him and I have similar careers except I was the failed actor and wrestler 😂
Absolutely fantastic show Chris. Im a Jericholic, so it was so cool to hear yall praise his career. Paul has always been a pleasure to watch, and i can't wait to actually see him wrestle(the man is living my dream right now! Lol) Great questions and conversation! Oh yeah, and in case someone missed it, GO DAWGS!
He is soooo fucking good in black bird!! He plays a serial killer (true story) and he is fucking incredible! What I noticed about Paul is that he comes of as a "normal" person who happens to be famous rather than a famous person trying to be "normal".. if that makes sense lol..some famous ppl feel like they're "acting" when interacting with us "normies".. then there a certain ppl like Paul who come off as a normal dude who happens to have a job that makes him a recognized face! Pedro pascal gives off the same type of energy as well, but Pedro at this point is a MEGASTAR so even tho he comes off humble and "normal", the sheer level of fame he has reached kinda makes it impossible to see him as anywhere near "normal"..Paul is at a level where he is "famous" and his face is well known, but he isn't a "household name" yet like Pedro has turned himself into during the last decade.. Paul is where Pedro was when he was on game of thrones or slighty post G.O.T.. the thrones role is what kinda put his name out there as a "capable" actor..I wouldn't have even known Pedro was one off charaters In shows like Buffy the vampire slayer prior to his G.O.T role!... even after thrones tho, it still took Pedro a good 5+ years to start getting consistent mainstream work even tho his name value went up!! I think Paul is in that moment where Pedro was just before the "rocket" got strapped to him...he is a recognizable face, he is mostly appaulded for everything he is doing, however the rocket isn't quite strapped to his feet yet..all it takes is that one role, there's always that one project that makes EVERYONE takes notice and from that moment on, all of a sudden it seems like we are seeing this dudes name on EVERYTHING!!(like Pedro the past 2/3 years).. Paul is on thst precipice I believe, all its gonna take is that ONE role, that one role that opens the floodgates where he is gonna be DROWING in offers for everything from streaming series, Disney umbrella projects, video game mo cap projects, animated voice over work, Nicholas cage movies!! EVERYTHING!!!
Hangman v danielson at winter is coming 21 genuinely became one of my favorite matches ever the moment it ended. It’s one of the reasons I got back into wrestling
The Best actor ive ever seen. Pretty awesome work in black bird. I was speechless! Keep up the good work and thank you for being you !! You Always get me inspired :)
@ChrisVanVliet hey brother Chris this last month has been the best time of my life I’m almost about to announce knock on wood and cross your fingers to be in remission from my colon cancer! And this last month your bangers of interviews helped me get through it all 3yrs treatment And I’m about to pray and hope to announce after this last round of chemotherapy and radiation you are the first person I will be announcing to I am in remission because of all the support and sending the love it meant a lot to me brother thank you so much and your videos of your banger of interviews help me get through this dark three years of my life of nonstop in and out the hospital treatment after treatment hospitalization of the hospitalization. Took it one day at a time got stronger mentally physically and emotionally and most importantly never give up
If you see this chris, you should interview insane clow posse.... They played a huge role in the attitude era. Im sure you guys would jive just talking about wrestling
Dammit, I want Dustin to have some sort of part in Cody's story. It's Dustin's story too. I'd love to see the bloodline about to steal another one, and Dusty's common man theme hit, and out comes Dustin and takes out the bloodline. Maybe takes a beating himself but in doing so, leads the bloodline members out of the arena so it's just Cody and Roman left to finish one on one.
Chris me and my buddy always have a big arrangement about what what’s the better trilogy or favourite. Back to the future or lord of the rings? I always say back to the future 🤣
I was at the first DON. I was waiting in line to be let in and was right next to the vip line so occasionally someone cool would walk by. I saw walter walking in with the rad burgundy suit on. I looked at him and thought i know him from somewhere but not sure where. Like i couldn't recall if he was like some youtuber or a indy wrestler or something. So we look right at eachother so i just nod and he nodded back. Like 5 mins later it popped in my head "STINGRAY"
My favorite matches of all time are in my opinion Golden Lovers vs Young Bucks JC Bailey vs Sick Nick Mondo (CZW tournament of death) Alex G vs Wicked J "last show" match (ESW backyard wrestling)
Love the Rushmore of Hogan, Flair, Taker, Rock/Austin, but honestly I think Cena could take the 4th spot--when Rock left for hollywood and Austin took his ball/went home wrestling went through a down period that only wen tbakc up once Cena became the top guy
Nice! Congrats on starting! The biggest piece of advice is to be consistent with it! 90% of podcasts don’t get past episode 3. Stick to a schedule and as you continue to show up, your audience will continue to show up.
@@marines5601 Also, steal from CVV's handbook and when you have enough material create a clips channel and use that to promote. I did a podcast for a while too (the inconsistency is why it ended) and found that people would engage when we promoted the clips.
Not 1 cobra Kai question. Wow and also he is wrong if he wasn't a celebrity he would have to pay his dues so becoming a celebrity means he did have to pay dues to get into wrestling
