I just purchased an 870 Police Magnum and started watching vids to familiarize myself. I learned more from your videos than any of the others, from function to disassembly and if I ever wanted to refinish it that's covered too. Also all the parts I'll need to give it that tactical look. Thanks Guys
Hi guys just found this video series and also subscribed! Looking forward to the next one (I know you guys are busy though). It's a fantastic set of videos, you should be very proud of them
Yea just take a picture with your phone and upload it’ll only about 30 seconds we just wanna see the end results you got us 90 percent there , no editing no Hollywood special effects no text no music just pop a picture on the RU-vid channel from your cell lol 😂
Is this the final part? It never showed the parts installation which is the most interesting part. Also didn't that gun already have a non-mim extractor?
I've used most of the cleaners that you have, and the brake cleaners are some of the best, but if you're just cleaning surface crude, oil or grease; mineral spirits are the very best. Denatured alcohol and most others do leave some residue, mineral spirits leaves none what so ever.
I was going to subscribe but the videos are pretty infrequent, which is kind of an understatement. Interesting video two points for those that come in late as myself One put heat on it after you've degreased it and cleaned it. A ceracoater told me that putting The parts in the oven at about 250 for about a half hour Will cause oil down in the pores of the metal to come up. And that really helps with adhesion. Second, for the love of goodness sake, you safety goggles when spring carburetor cleaner. I had my eyeballs stripped of lubricant one time. Learned my lesson.
Why you didnt protect the interior of the parts? Didnt plug barrel, cover the interior of the receiver or the forend tube. Tolerances can change if you add a layer of paint over it.
I'm bummed out. I watched parts one through four and now I can't find the rest of these videos to see how this thing turned out. What a letdown. If anybody knows where to find the rest of these videos please let me know...
Hello all. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but... I have a maverick 88 with some rust spots I want to repaint. Is it possible to achieve the same rough surface through sanding the gun with sand paper rather than sand blasting? If so I could just do it myself. Thanks fore any advice!
I've done a Mossberg 500, an AR receiver set and a handgun in Alumahyde II. The results were great on the long guns, but the build up layer junked up the tolerances on the cheap Kel Tec P11. once it fully cures (weeks) it is really hard and has held up for years. Easy to repair as well.
Great vid but what the hell, no part 5? I started watching just to see you install the Trijicon sights, then got interested in some of the info and now find out there's no part 5! Find someone to edit that thing, 3 year delay is insane.
@@Learningfirearms why more "accidents" like these didn't happen in places like Australia and New Zealand when they began banning most firearms is amazing to me!
Our featured video said this a long time ago :-) Channel Announcement and Exciting News! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qbc_ncorCXw.html
Learning Firearms thanks for the response! Ya I looked up on there website as well as other sources that have used allumahide II and most say to oven cure but I don't have the means to stick a fresh painted firearm in the oven without the miss beating me with it. If u say its good without then ill take ur word for it
You never know but we are producing content for another channel now that has take over. We will see if we get some free time. The shotgun is done and has been shooting great.
So I just finished my pawnshop shotgun from watching this series! Couldnt be happier but before I refurbished the shotgun it was at normal working condition then after the project I had to deeply clwan and polish some internal parts. I'm no gunsmith but I'm somewhat confident in what im doing. Should there be any safety concerns?
Learning Firearms I only polished the revealing part of the bolt to give it a good shine. Everything else I cleaned with degreaser. I did not remove anything from the gun
Video has been shot a long time ago and shotgun is done. Now it’s finding time to edit the video. Problem is paid video stuff and gigs always goes to the front on the line. Sorry man. It is on the list of things to finish but it’s still towards the bottom
The joke went above your head. Sorry man. Seriously we wouldn’t do that. Apparently throwing the barrel to camera guy off view and adding a sound effect is pretty hard to imagine.
Well this series was a bust. What happened to the carrier spring/extractor and ghost ring sight upgrades? Also the Magpul stock and side saddle shell carrier installation? You guys took WAY too much time leading up this disappointing end. Sorry I tuned in.
Sorry, life and other things took priority. Trevor and I did finish the video, just have to edit it. Unfortunately this channel isn’t my main gig so it was set to the back burner
What the fuck I watch three parts and don’t get to see the finished product I’m so pissed off right now please please please do the final installment I am going to unsubscribe if you don’t upload it
In your other comment you said we wasted 80% of your time. Either way as you’ve noted we aren’t active on this channel anymore as we’ve move on to another venture. We have part 5 on the to do list. Maybe this spring.
