@@Scrapla1 I wonder why they kinda made it seem like he's just a broke dude trying to sell a car... VideoBob is a respectable/famous business owner that creates movie/tv show replica cars practically identical to the originals. His channel is great!
VideoBob Moseley was building movie cars and other props long before being on pawn stars and he's friends with a lot of celebrities Like Gene Simmons from kiss.
@@thamer_nkk3852 as a follower and admirer of VideoBob, i have never come across anything related to the 'Pawn Stars Delorean', but have always wondered what happened to it? i was always %1000 certain that someone bought it, but havent heard anything about it at all! Thanks for providing the first piece of my puzzle....
He makes a good point, people will come to the shop to see the time machine and will likely buy other things, so just having it in the store would probably make you a lot of money even if they don't buy the time machine itself.
He has his own youtube channel (videobob moseley) He builds and sells these along with many other famous movie cars like the ATeam van and the Ghostbusters hearse ecto 1, Night Rider...
A stock Delorean in good condition is worth about $50,000 because it's a classic car and a collector's item. When you create a show car like the BTTF car, the market shrinks dramatically but the value goes up for businesses looking for a prop/decoration to drive business. That car would most likely be purchased either by a BTTF fan, a large car dealership (for their showroom), a theatre/casino/mall/etc... as a decoration, and so on.
Luke Mackie those are fake bro. I’m a shoe expert and I can tell by the coloration and the stitching that those are 100% fake. Best I can do is 200 bucks
He said someone who is willing to spend that much money for it. I want it but im not willing to spend $100,000 for it not because its not worth that, but because i cant spend that much
Yea man i even got insulted when he offered freaking 10 k dollars, pretty sure he never had a movie childhood and never really apreciated the value of the best movie cars ever
Locutus he goes oh you want 100k for that guitar let me call in my expert who will most likely lowball you and then I will personally lowball that evaluation saying I’m taking a huge risk here
"You will find very few people willing to spend that much on a Back To The Future DeLorean" I AM ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE BABY! This is my dream car right here haha!
6:37 "You gonna find very few people in this world willing to spend money on a replica time machine" Yet VideoBob has a prop shop and he's regularly building replica time machines by order.
That's funny cuz Rick told him your gonna get few people willing to pay that much yet ofcourse it sold. Just kinda shows Rick isn't the brightest of the bunch
The guy who brought it in is actually good friends with Rick Harrison and he owns a shop that builds replica movie cars, he’s got a RU-vid channel called VideoBob, he’s quite a good RU-vid TBH.
There are many misconceptions about the 1981/1982 DeLorean DMC 12. However, ill cover the more common ones. In 1981, a famous car designer started a manufacturing company, but it went out if business and was sold off by early 1983. There are many people still thinking it was drug related, however, it wasn't. The reason DeLorean went bankrupt was due to company mismanagement on both DeLorean and its Bank. The second largest misconception is that the engine is unreliable and underpowered. This is true, but not as bad as people think. The DeLoreans V6 could easily overcome both its unreliability and low power with a single modification. By replacing the Exhaust Head at the block with a larger head and exhaust, the power would increase substantially, and the engine would no longer have that infamous backpressure of exhaust fumes which made it unreliable. The third and final one is for people who see the movie, the dont do any research. The DeLorean was a manufactured car between late 1981 and early 1983. The car was futuristic with its steel design, but was essentially a Bricklin. It was based solely on the Bricklin with its unibody design, wedge shape, rear mid engine, and gull wing doors. As the Bricklin was built in the 1970's, the DeLorean could be considered a literal copy and paste with very few major cosmetic changes. This sums it up.
This thing is awesome and the guy can definitely get way more than 10k for it. I know this is staged but I really hope that guy realizes how rare this is.
Wow, it's just like the movie... it even has the same trouble getting started, just like in the movie! Joking aside, it is a cool replica prop, sure someone would want it.
Someone out there will buy it for 100k. You just gotta post it on a site where movie enthusiasts/collectors go. But, just getting on this show will give you publicity, so that was a smart move and by not selling it, that was the right move. They are in the business of pushing items out of the store, not having a museum.
Funny thing is this guy makes replica BTTF TIME MACHINE DeLoreans and opened his own shop making them for people all over. Everybody loves that car. Also makes other movies cars. Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters etc.
This has to be one of the biggest lowballs I’ve ever seen on the show, but in considering how sucky of an engine design the Delorean’s had, I can’t say I’m surprised at all.
Rick really missed out on that. Actual replicas of the Time Machine Delorean can sell for way over 50k. 10k is a stupid offer for something as amazing and rare like that
The DeLorean had a habit of stalling for no reason. There was a story of Johnny Carson owning one. He had just taken it off the lot when it stalled. There was a dealer in Oakville ON. He had about 20 to sell when they went bankrupt in the 80s. It took him several years to unload them on customers.
Why is everyone crying about Rick’s offer? It’s a replica that some random due has built in his garage. That doesn’t make it worth $100,000, his comment about the Picasso summed it up perfectly. He also obviously doesn’t want it so just gave a stupid low number.
