I had a similar thought while listening to this and I hope people remind him of his past behavior in the future.

Don't go to Hollywood peeps. Only the strong survive. On another note why is everyone making books longer. Doesn't necessarily make them better. You might get Isom #1. IRON ZOMBIE will be as long as it needs to be so it is read and enjoyed.

​@@thetequilaprofessor i don't mind long books if the art helps spread out the speech bubbles. One panel with 3 paragraph long speech is cumbersome to read and the 💬 covers the art. Break that up into 3 or 4 panels with smaller 💬 makes it easier to read, but those extra panels mean more pages. Narwhal's books do this successfully, and his books are thick AF. But of course the b at style is more simplistic, which allows for increased number of panels. In Ethan's detailed style this might be a nightmare.

That's all well and good so long as they are immediately uploaded to a dedicated streaming channel, but so far, there isn't one. At least, not one connected to his main channel. Gimme muh trash! 🦝🗑♥

Or he could make a secondary vod channel, which is a way better idea. Not actually a good idea to do it this way.

Ethan could absolute have a secondary channel for the re-uploading the full live streams, ala Anna TSWG Live, while focusing clips to this channel. Lean into it and call the second channel Trashcast, to keep the branding on point. 🤣

EVS is a bit of a boomer when it comes to RU-vid but hopefully he'll do this. Some many juicy little moments in these trashcasts that deserve to be shared

@@lancebaylis3169 Yea, he could still livestream here. YT is insane with algorithm and it's terrible as we all know. The second channel doesn't need to push views, just hold vods. It'd grow some, and he could focus on full edits simply advertising the second channel in description. That seems to be a way around be deboosted.

Don't you mean to say, "never take it in the back end."? It makes the straight pay thing sound like more of a double entendre. plus its not the wrong turn of phrase, as "back door" deal means something different.

Steiner math says otherwise : If the comic bombs , as a 40% owner Dillard still gets 100% of his cornholing , since he did the lion's share of the production work and receives no pay. Depending on how retarded the deal is he signed , he might only own 40% of his original art , 60% of which may belong to YellowFlash free of charge. Instead of getting 40% bungholed he may end up getting buttslammed at a 200% level or thereabouts. Even if he decided to write , draw and publish the property himself , he'd still receive no page rate , and still be forced to hand over 60% of any profits to YF, who would have contributed nothing to the work. This could bring Dillard's cornholing total up to 500%! Hope he can still afford a can of Crisco or some similar lubricant.

I hear you on that. But Dillard is already screwed and Ethan couldn't prevent it if he tried. At least Ethan is informing future artists about the stupidity of working on these back end deals and that's something.

Dillard might not want help but he will be used an example for others to not get fucked in the ass by what is essentially the mainstream in terms of "do work for me, let me make money and ill throw you some scraps". Either Dillard makes bank or he'll get fucked. Nothing in between. Because Flash isnt taking a pay cut. And hollywood accounting is very easy to do.

The only hope for this book is Dillard's art. He's quite good so at least someone competent is working on it. Yellow Flash can barely speak correctly so the writing is sure to be poor. Flash's platform is substantial , so if he promotes the book he might have some decent indie - level sales. Personally I'm in it for Dillard to at least get paid for his efforts.

@@spoobsjammin same. Its usually on at like 3 or 4am so unless I'm pulling an all nighter, it's usually impossible to catch them live. So becomes extremely annoying when they get taken down...

Dillard's last book didn't do great. Flash is selling the book. That's what he brings. It's a good deal for Dillard.

@@Trevor-08 Its a good deal IF people buy it. If nobody buys it, its not a good deal. As i said. Dillard's previous book didnt sell well but he got 100%. This one might sell great but he gets whatever his boss wants him to get.

@@Trevor-08 And lets be real, the Buckler was not a good concept. And it most definitely was not marketed well at all either. Or at all, all things considered. Dillard is a good artist. Great even. But he still needs to learn about marketing. EVS has good sells because its excellent marketing. Cyberfrog on its own isnt a blockbuster. But its a post apocalyptic story with people vs basically some sort of zombie scenario. But there is a silly TMNT characters in there. That sells because its got multiple angles to strike at the customer. The Buckler was advertised how? "Its like this guy, but hes not hero or a good guy and hes an asshole and he gross and..." and none of it was "Yeah, this is what people have been asking". If anything, it was what people HADNT been asking for. It was marketed with the terms that customers didnt want. You can sell salt to a sailor but you gotta learn to market. Otherwise even homeless guys is going to turn down your free food.

If some goon like shadiversity can make 600k then so can Flash. Dillard owns 40% of the IP. This comic will make at least 400k and that's it's floor imo. This is a good deal for Dillard. I just looked up Buckler, Dillard can do some good work.

Allies are people that fight beside you and aid you in the fight to make both your lives better! These people have long proven to be more a hindrance than a friend! So nothing is loss! Their solution to changing the culture is becoming obsolete, whilst creating the culture is only achieved by creating things! Maybe because he cares about comic books being made the right way, with people being compensated fairly for their work. When you've worked in an industry a long time, you've seen the bad stuff that goes on, and no matter who does that bad stuff, it's still bad. And really, shouldn't his potential allies take responsibility for what they're doing and realize that EVS is just trying to help them?
