Keep your oil changed exactly at the right mileage. Don't try and save and push mileage. Also keep and eye on your mileage per gallon. It's one of the key signs to needing maintenance. Figure out what mileage that truck is supposed to do. You should be good if it's new. If your in east coast weather you will need to grease chasis, fifth wheel, and slack adjusters. From here on out the outside of the trust is not where you make money, it's under the hood.
This video was recorded during one of the best freight markets we have ever seen and those rates were WAY BELOW market. So if that's the best they can do when literally anyone can get $4-$5/mile minimum then what you gonna do when it all comes crashing down. Update on this?
Everything looks straight up. The only thing I would have them do for me is double or maybe tripple the 0.03 cents for breakdowns or tows....but it is a brand new truck so It's probably all good the way it is.
Oregon permits are one way, so you did need two. I don't need permits, but I still have to pay their fuel taxes. And Oregon is NOT part of IFTA. So it's a separate charge. Usually takes a couple of weeks to show up. So don't be surprised if you see it deducted from a later statement. I get hit with about 10 cents for every mile driven in the state. So it can bite sometimes.
West coast to East coast percentage wins . When do miles it's only for a yr and that's just to lower my insurance and save. Not saying right or wrong man after seeing some other guys numbers they hitting 4k a week but they are leased on.
Actually a driver should always call to see if they can get unloaded/loaded early. I’ve made it to shippers/receivers over 4 hours early just to sit and do nothing when I could have been at a truck stop, showering, eating, or washing clothes.
Goooooooood Morning!!! I have a few serious questions for you? Are you on any other social media? I’m very very interested in doing the lease purchase BUT I’m very very burnt out on OTR…if I was to do this I’m only trying to do local/ close runs! I live in Chicago so I’m trying to do Iowa, MO, OH, IN, etc etc…I just wanna go to the next state over and come back home! Is it possible to still make good money in doing that?
That's not possible, because to make it worth it you need to me a good gross for the week , Freight companies pay good money but you must work long hours 12 plus ➕️
I'm just curious.. are you 1099 or w2? Your crunching numbers real well. Over 2 gs take home after expenses. If your co isn't withholding state n federal taxes. The. Your gonna have too. So now you take your net pay off your stub. Minus another 30 percent. Each week. And put in an acct. Then every quarter you go see a accountant.
Are use my second phone for the GPS. I don’t use Google though only to actually see where the place is that I use hammer it’s free and it’s built for trucks.
Figure out when your pay period starts and end. (Starts Monday/end Sunday) Fill up your tank at the beginning of pay period and accept load beginning of pay period. (Monday). 2 days later drop off load and fill up tank again (Wednesday). 2 days later Friday put just enough to get you by to next destination. End of pay period (Sunday) your tank should be less than half. If you have a full tank at the end of your pay period (Sunday) your check will be short. Don’t just accept loads base on its pay, accept loads base on when it’s due so you can manage your fuel
